in my opinion, the best stroller for twins is… multiple strollers. options will be key. the first few months, i used a baby trend double snap n go with the car seats. babies can’t sit up, we had medical equipment, it was the best fit for my life. it’s not wide but it is LONG it’s like driving a bus. after they could sit up, i like a side by side- i use a joovy scooter x2. most side by side doubles are NOT double wide- they’re more like 1.5. they’re also made to ADA specifications and should fit through all doors that are ADA compliant and wide enough for wheelchairs. IMO side by sides are easier to handle and maneuver than a tandem stroller. i also have single strollers for when i have one baby for an appointment or when i have two adults and we want to each take one. i got a single snap n go on marketplace for a car seat, and two separate umbrella strollers for older babies. truthfully though, if we’re not separating the babies i just use the double.
you need a double stroller. you have two babies, you need a stroller seat for each of them. your ideal stroller setup will likely be multiple strollers, as your needs will change throughout the next couple years. personally i used a baby trend snap n go with the car seats for the first 8-10 months. then we switched to a joovy scooter x2. i also had a single snap n go(for when i had one baby at specialist appointments and took the other to grandma) and i have a single umbrella stroller for the same reason now that they’re out of the infant car seats. i’ve been considering getting a double umbrella stroller so it takes up less trunk space, but right now i’m not ready to give up stroller storage lol
I went with the side by side immediately because I just knew the tandem would annoy me. Who gets to sit up front and see everything? They are two now and fight over everything so the seats would be a battle for sure. I went with the Joovy Scooter X2 and it’s great. It also fits Disneyland regulations and I have zero issues fitting though doorways
I got a cheap Joovy twin roo to use during the early days and I only used it a couple times. As soon as they hit 3 months I moved them over to our main stroller, a Joovy Scootet X2. We have a Wonderfold and it’s strictly for outdoor outings or the zoo or something. I love it but it’s too much for everyday use I think
We started with a Joovy Roo+ so we could clip the car seat in. It made the most sense when they were still in infant seats. When they were a few months old we came across a Bob twin jogger at a yard sale and held onto that and used it as they got older. That wasn't great for navigating indoors though, so when they moved out of their infant seats we got a folding side by side Joovy so it fit in the trunk better.
Do you have a buy nothing group in your area? I got a well loved Bravo 2 or whatever ( Chicco seat clips in and my toddler can sit or stand on the back). We have used it a ton and air traveled with it. It has quirks but it was free and every day I thank god for that. I also got a used Joovy x2 for $80 on marketplace. You never know what these picky toddlers will be into but try to not stress and spend hundreds.
Same. Joovy. Best purchase in the 2u2 race. The only one I would make over and over again. Mine are 2 and 3 now and still fit comfortably for long outings. Plus the storage feels endless.
I will forever sing the praises of the Uppababy vista with the double car seat option for infants. Big basket underneath for groceries and easy snap on/off for infant car seats. When the twins were about 1.5, I got a Joovy double (lightweight, easy open/close) for neighborhood walks/mall.
Omg yes. I’m way past that stage now but it’s been a problem since forever and my oldest is 11. I gave my shit away. The double Joovy stroller is the only thing I kept at 100$ because I paid out the ass for it. They still got a deal lol. I see it in the local moms group all the time, way over priced crap.
Started with new uppababy vista, bought a used joovy double stroller, bought a new wonderfold W4, bought an umbrella stroller, bought a bugaboo donkey duo, sold the joovy, sold uppababy vista, bought a new uppababy minu and car seat adapter for the W4. planning on selling bugaboo donkey. Will likely end up buying a jogging stroller + bike trailer to replace our non-stroller convertible bike trailer. I have 3 kids, 3.5, 2, and 3.5mo. Different strollers have been useful for different seasons of parenting.
I actually have a Joovy double you could have if you were in San Diego. The only thing is it's a total bitch to push around once they get older.
