Based on 1 year's data from Feb 25, 2026 How it works
I just completed a full Ironman at 12months postpartum so did lots of running in 2025 with a stroller. We have the Thule Urban Glide 3 and Joovy Ultralight 360. Joovy was a gift: it’s heavy and cumbersome and hard to run with compared to the Thule that’s smooth, easy and a total dream. Longest I ran with the stroller is around 20kms (12miles). My best tip is leave baby home for a nap with someone else and run as much as you can, when they wake up come back and get them and finish the run with the stroller. That’s how I got my long runs in. Edit: just something to keep in mind, you cannot run with baby until 6m in most strollers (Joovy is 4m with the seat reclined). It’s for the safety of their neck.
We had a joovy zoom 360 last us till about 7-8. Weight he still was fine, just too tall.
I have a Joovy Zoom 360 with probably 1000 miles on it, and it’s still going strong. It’s been on trails, to the beach, all kinds of terrain and weather. It was only $220 when I got it almost six years ago. They’re a little more expensive now, but not like the premium brands.
Joovy Zoom Ultralight is what I have used with both of my kids. I tried mockingbird when I had my 2nd but it was such a joke and felt so top heavy and NOT stable. NOT curb friendly. Idk who the moms are who like those kind of strollers but I am active and they don't work for me. My husband and I always say "once you go jogging stroller you never go back" I have fingertip control on the joovy and it handles all of the terrain with ease. I could go on but I love it. Good price point. We now also have a Double BOB which is awesome when we take both kids. Still have the joovy on the rotation for when my older kid is at school.
I’m a huge fan of our [Joovy 360 Ultralight](https://joovy.com/zoom-360-ultralight/) Lightweight, great maneuverability, big inflatable tires are perfect for our antique sidewalks & rougher terrain, technically a jogging stroller but was my only one until we had our second. Lays flat, can be adjusted to sit upright, has an attachment / adapter that accommodates some infant seats (though we just used the lay down mode pretty early on.) Has a nice ‘mom caddy’ & a generous basket underneath. Folds down for storage, fits in a trunk easily. Accommodates kids up to 75 lbs (my giant preschooler still insists on a ride sometimes.)
We (5’10” & 6’4”) used a [jogging stroller](https://www.joovy.com/collections/jogging-strollers) for our every day stroller. It had more storage & maneuverability than the others I used, was super lightweight, folded flat &, most importantly, was comfortable for us as talls.
I’m a *huge* fan of our [Joovy 360 Ultralight](https://www.joovy.com/products/zoom360-ultralight-lightweight-performance-jogging-single-stroller). It seems like maybe it’s being phased out for a [newer model](https://www.joovy.com/products/zoom-single-jogging-stroller-slate-1). I chose this stroller mainly because I used it as a nanny, so I was comfortable with it (it lasted them through two kids & now ours is on its fourth year.) I haven’t taken it trail running or anything (though the sidewalks in my town are basically the same thing,) but I’ve definitely taken it through parks & cobblestone streets, up & over curbs. It handles really well & is my favorite of the three of ours (we have two now, so we picked up a double & a fancy wagon.)
So while I have never gone running with our stroller, I *love* our jogging stroller - it has great maneuverability, inflated tires for a smoother ride on our antique sidewalks, plus it’s comfortable for me & my kid. The only reason it’s not our only stroller is because I have two kids & have a push wagon as my second stroller. We have the Joovy Zoom 360 Ultralight & while it doesn’t fold as flat as some travel strollers, it can still fit in my car & both of my kids have loved it.
We’ve had a Joovy Zoom for almost 5 years & it’s still going strong. Wide base, great handling, fat tires, good storage for adults. Both my kids are 90+ percentilers & our youngest (36” tall) still rides comfortably.
Definitely consider whether or not you’re planning on having another kid and see if a modular stroller would work better for your needs where you can have a second seat attachment. If not then consider your lifestyle as to whether you guys travel a lot, jogging trails etc and then go from there. I had twins and so we had the double seats and extra attachments, but currently the single rider [Joovy Qool](https://a.co/d/6j690wu) is under $500. You can find the car seat attachments as well for the stroller. We loved this stroller and cycled through with 3 kids, we could make it into a triple stroller with a toddler bench seat attachment. We also had a Joovy jogging stroller which we loved but had to get rid of because we had 3 under 3 so we got a wagon lol. I’m personally biased with Joovy because you can take off a majority of their seats/covers on their strollers and easily wash them and/or buy a replacements for them and even get replacement parts on their website. If we didn’t have twins I would’ve stuck with Chicco branded product. Honestly with you being in LA, I’d say look on marketplace first for some strollers second hand and that way you can get a feel of different strollers, you don’t have to commit to buying them as well. A lot of people are suggesting all these “name brand” high end strollers which I get if you have the money and just one kid to invest in, but again I had twins and we went for practically and longevity. Some of these higher end strollers didn’t really work well for two kids.
This is the travel system I had for my first! It’s still worth it to have a jogging stroller even though yes it is annoying to have multiple strollers. Mine was Joovy brand and I got it from a friend of a friend. Used it to train for a half marathon!
I really love my joovy ultralight. It’s easy to lift into my trunk and fits well with leaving lots of space for other things. It’s definitely built for mall trips and level terrain though. It’s nice and narrow and fits through the doorways and aisles. I’ve taken it around the neighborhood before, but if you want something to go over road bumps and sidewalks more easily I’d go with a jogger side by side style. My only complaint with my joovy is that there isn’t really any good storage and the cup holder area leaves a lot to be desired. I bought stroller hooks though to hang my bags which has been a nice compromise. Plus you can fit some things on the floor of the second seat like kids water bottles or toys.
