We have the MaxiCosi Tayla Travel System which we LOVE. The only issue is the car seat base requires a separate piece that does not nicely fit in the bottom part of the stroller. Regardless of what you get (uppababy, etc.), I recommend looking at travel systems, as you will likely be getting into cabs with your LO. I have a lot of friends with the Noona and it's great, but you will have to invest in a second stroller sooner than later.

I live in a large city with extensive public transportation but also have a car that I use relatively frequently, so a travel system was key for us. I found a MaxiCosi travel system on super sale with some cash back options so purchased it for verrrrry cheap. If I lived in the suburbs and didn't need a hearty stroller for days out on the town, walking/on subways/buses, I might regret the purchase as it folds quite large and takes up basically the entire trunk of my station wagon. But it does suit my needs very well, and when we make car trips we just take the size into consideration as we pack up to go. Personally, I wanted one new so that I wouldn't have to clean all the textile components before use.

I got a MaxiCosi Tayla/Mico XP travel system on super sale. I love it. HOWEVER - I use it a TON (live in a dense city and use lots of over and underground public transport, plus I drive) - I rely on the cargo space - It is a BEAST (folded). Like… huge. - I bought it on super sale (under $300 including tax) If I were to do it again, I’d get a Babyzen Yoyo/Cybex Libelle/Uppababy Minu and then an inexpensive but well-rated infant car seat that is compatible, with adapters, with one of those travel strollers. I think any of these would suffice as far as cargo goes (meaning I could make it work), and they would be more versatile as baby grows. I, personally, would absolutely not spend >$500 on a stroller or >$700 on a travel system. Your needs are likely to shift within the first 6-9mos of baby’s life, and baby will very likely grow out of infant car seat within a year.

Some do lose their sturdiness a bit - I bought a new travel system (a Maxi-cosi, I love it - but it’s huge and heavy) and then recently bought a used Baby Jogger City Mini GT. Now that baby is 10+ months I’m feeling much less fussy about used stuff, and I wanted a stroller that would grow more easily with a toddler than my MC. I get that some people don’t like used stuff - I swore I wouldn’t accept handed down items when I was pregnant because it grossed me out too much - but I honestly do not care now, lol. I think this is def a YMMV type thing.

I never see it recommended, so I’m just gonna throw out there that we bought the Maxi Cosi Tayla travel system and we’re obsessed with it. It’s incredibly light, feels durable and unlike the Uppababy Vista you can easily transition it from bassinet mode to stroller mode. We’ll have it well into our son’s toddler years. It’s also hundreds of dollars cheaper than the Uppababy. But my best advice is to try and go to a big box store that has the strollers in person. I was dead set on buying the Vista until I tried the maxi cosi and my husband and I liked it so much more. You don’t know what you’ll like until you start to handle it yourself.

Yep! Mind you, we used the heck out of the bassinet stroller for the first few months. But once he started sitting upright by himself he LOATHED the maxi cosi Tayla we got. It was a great system though. Also, food for thought, we initially got an infant carseat that docks in the truck and that we would take in and out. We upgraded to the babyjogger city view rotating one that stays in the truck and I wish we had skipped the infant carseat setup and jumped right to the rotating one. 100x easier and so convenient to get baby in and out of. We plan to get another from the start with our next baby

I got the Maxi Cosi Tayla for pretty cheap on Albee Baby. I love it! I wanted black with the brown leather accents and it’s super easy to fold and set up one handed!

Ftm and we were gifted the silver cross reef 2. I love it and it feels so luxurious. I mostly keep this in the car for when we go out.. Easy one hand fold and unfold, it’s just heavy to load in and out of car but I went to see some other competitors and it was virtually same. I previously had purchased the maxi cosi tayla travel system bc I got it for a killer deal and wanted a second car seat. You can feel the difference in ride from both strollers but I appreciated how transformed into bassinet and seat easily. We used the bassinet a lot. I keep it for neighborhood walks and it’s parked inside the home.

In your budget the maxi cosi travel system all the way. I had it, loved it. It’s not too heavy, comes with absolutely everything you need. Car seat and the regular seat can convert from bassinet to upright. It’s awesome. Sometimes you can find the whole system in target at a very hefty discount.

I have the Maxi Cosi travel system and a compact SUV - Mitsubishi RVR and agree with this. It fits well in the back, but the passenger seat needs to be moved up extremely closely to the dash. It doesn’t fit in the middle well because then both seats need be adjusted the same. I do like it overall though, I saw many reviews about the wheels being bad but it’s worked nicely for us (only been using it 3 weeks so far) for casual walks. I don’t find the car seat too heavy, but to be fair I didn’t test a lot.

Unless you expect to be using taxis a lot in and out I don’t think you need a doona. We had something like this maxi cosi that in normal days we could just use bassinet and on days we knew we’d need a cab we used the car seat attachment that clicked in. Some strollers have newborn inserts to the regular seat (uppababy for example) that you can use from birth and as they grow take it out. I am obsessed with strollers and getting the right one lol

We had a maxi Cosi travel system that I got from John Pye for £170, came with an isize car seat that was compatible with the same bases as the Pearl 360. Used it for around 7.5 months then sold it for £120 as our needs had changed ☺️ I don’t regret not splashing big money on a swanky one at all. My son was comfortable in the bassinet and it did what I needed it to do!
