Mockingbird 3.0 lets you have the bassinet and the toddler seat on bottom!

I just got the new Mockingbird 3.0 (just released!) after seeing the review at Mommyhood101, and I LOVE IT! The new leg shades, huge canopies, adjustable seat back height, plenty of storage, and it's easy to fold and maneuver. It will, however, take up a ton of room in your trunk, like any double stroller. I drive a Tahoe so it's an easy fit, but if you drive like an Impreza, civic, Corolla, etc you might want to reconsider!

r/toddlersIs a double stroller really necessary? Newborn + almost 3 y/o

I have a 6 year old, 3 year old, and due with #3 in August so same age gaps as you. We have a mockingbird stroller setup to hold 3 kids with the riding board. I'd say the first two years of my seconds life we used it consistently as a double but my oldest quickly outgrew the seat. We used the heck out of it in the last year walking to school every morning when my oldest started kindergarten but we used it as a single stroller with the 3 year old in the seat and 6 year old on the riding board. I'm sure I'll use it as a double more when #3 comes but I do wish I would've just gotten a big push wagon instead. My 6 year old isnt very comfortable on the riding board for long walks and he has to hold on so he can't nap or snack on walks. It's also a bit clunky so make sure whatever you get you can lift on your own and it will fit in your car.

the mockingbird is solid honestly. got one for my nephew and my sister loves it - way better build quality than the evenflo stuff. the seat positioning is actually decent and adjustable so your kiddo wont be doing the slow slide of doom anymore only thing is it can be a bit heavy if youre constantly lifting it in and out of cars but the wheels roll smooth on pretty much any surface. target usually has them on sale too so you might catch a break on price

I have 2: a travel (ergobaby metro 3) and full size (mocking bird single). I bought the mockingbird second hand from fb marketplace and it’s amazing for walks in the neighborhood which I do almost every day. It’s heavy duty but turns and moves very easily. Also car seat adaptable if we want to haul it into the car and take it with us. The metrobaby 3 was a gift and has a newborn nest so can also be used from birth and is lightweight and folds very easily, so it lives in the car trunk.

The metro3 is also car seat adaptable for certain types of car seats but not all.

We have spent more than $600 on all our strollers but not on a single stroller. My honest opinion based on our OAD family: * Mockingbird single ($450, purchased new): Used daily in the newborn stage and almost daily until about age 1. Did not buy the bassinet attachment and did not regret it. Got the mockingbird instead of the more expensive Uppababy and loved our choice. Would purchase again new. Looking to sell it soon, but I expect it to be difficult since we only got the single stroller and not the single to double. * Uppababy Minu v1 ($200, purchased secondhand): Got this for travel because it folds down smaller than the Mockingbird and theoretically could be stowed in the overhead compartment of an airplane. We ended up spending $80 on the Uppababy travel bag and gate checking the stroller for our trip last year and will do the same for our upcoming trip. We use this nearly daily and mostly love it, but I wouldn’t have paid more than $200 for it even brand new. A good buy used, will probably sell it in the next year or so but don’t anticipate listing it for more than $100. * Thule jogging stroller ($500, purchased new): Rides like a dream. Husband loves this for jogging. We haven’t used it as much as the others and we definitely didn’t _need_ this stroller, but we’ve certainly used it plenty and can keep using it for a while longer. We’ll sell it when we’re done with it. We got lucky and purchased all of these items 3 2.5 - 3 years ago, so they might be more attractive on the resale market given the tariffs on comparable products. I’ve also kept the strollers remarkably clean; the only one that shows any signs of wear is the Uppababy and most of that is the color of the fabric (light grey). I’ve washed it a handful of times and it usually comes out very close to “good as new.” Worth noting that we will not be buying a wagon as our child gets older, so once we age out of the strollers we’re done. We have a backpack for the things we need to carry & our kid can walk if we go places; if they can’t walk the whole time it means we’re going for too long. It’s just what works for our family; lots of folks love their wagons to pieces.

We are OAD with a 2.5 year old. We have: * A mockingbird single stroller (not the single to double) that I used daily for LO’s first year of life. We haven’t used it in a long time so I’ll probably sell it soon. * An Uppababy minu that we purchased secondhand for a trip and have used almost daily for the last 1.5 years. * A Thule jogging stroller that my husband uses for, well, jogging. My husband has looked at wagons but we aren’t really wagon people (no shame if you are!). If we had more kids or needed to schlep more things than would fit in a backpack or our Minu maybe a wagon would be prudent, but right now it doesn’t seem necessary. I expect our LO will outgrow the Minu soon and at that point we’ll just have them walk everywhere.

r/BabyBumpsBudget vs. High End Strollers: has anyone ACTUALLY used both that can help me explain these massive price differences?

I think it’s really hit or miss tbh. For my firstborn we did a MomPush Wiz. It didn’t even hold up for the first year. It became extremely difficult to push and the frame was all loose and weird. This time we’ve done a Mockingbird as our single stroller and the difference is night and day. But also, we went with a more budget friendly for our side by side double. We got the Bombi twin and so far I’m happy with it. The push is very nice and it’s got a lot of features I love. But I don’t have a “high end” side by side double to compare it to so maybe I’d love it less if I had experience with a Bugaboo Donkey or something.

r/MommitBest car seat stroller combo for a first time mom who is overwhelmed by options?

I had a mockingbird (single only) stroller. It had adapters you could get that attached to your car seat. I tried to go without something like that initially, as she got bigger I realized that was a really bad idea lol. In the end I wished I had gotten the adapters sooner. It’s not the cheapest option but I did really like the stroller.
