After a few days of trying to decide which travel stroller to go with we decided to buy the Mompush Nexis. One hand fold, very light and compact, newborn recline (and has a part that you can zip over the bumper bar to enclose the feet area and make more of a bassinet), bottom storage that just fits our big diaper bag (bit of a squeeze but it fits), easy harness system, and a built in carry strap. Also it comes with a rain cover, detachable cupholder, and stroller bag. It's narrow enough to maneuver well in restaurants, which was a big draw for us because we eat out a lot. It handled pretty okay on cobblestone/brick, a little bumpy but our daughter stayed asleep. It's a brand I hadn't heard much about before, but I'm currently obsessed with it.
You're welcome! And yes, we bought it for some upcoming international travel but now we're planning to use it most of the time we go out. We've already taken it on the subway and into the city we live by and it made things so easy. Our other stroller is the Nuna Triv Next. We really liked it as a stroller for our car seat, but as a regular stroller we'll probably just use it when going places that the bigger wheels will be more useful (like parks with unpaved paths) and on trips to places where we'll need to carry more stuff and know that that size stroller won't be getting in the way of things.
You do have to fold the leg rest in first, there have been a couple times I've forgotten, but it folds in so easily it really doesn't add any time. And the newborn nest fabric can stay on when folded! That's actually how we keep ours. Our daughter is four months old, so the nest fabric isn't necessary for her, but she has a habit of kicking shoes off so it's been useful to make sure nothing falls off lol And yeah, I was considering between the Mompush Nexis and Velo, but the Nexis' recline is very simple vs the Velo's recline straps. With the Nexis we've been able to adjust the recline by just reaching around the back of the stroller and not having to look at what we're doing. ETA: thestrollermom on YouTube has a video about the Nexis that I found very helpful with making a decision
Mompush nexis. We were looking into getting the joolz aer but it doesn’t have peekaboo window, for that price range you would think it does but we love the mompush nexis.
Here there. In research paralysis. I am looking for a travel stroller and feel stuck. I have a Cybex Gazelle which I love and Evenflo Infant car seat stroller thing which was amazing but my baby is too big for that now comfortably as a stroller. So going on a couple trips soon and want to get a travel stroller for those as well as serving as a better “in the car, out and about stroller” than by Cybex and leave that mostly for walks, Zoo, festivals, etc. So I have a couple do or dies: I really want something compact and light 14lb or less, and very deep recline - as flat as possible. After doing a ton of research I bought the Ergo Baby Metro 3 and the Zoe Travel to test. I really like the quality and feel of the ergo and fell in love with how deep the recline is, about 170 degrees. My son is a super nap fighter so I feel like that’s the only way he might fall asleep in the go. Our Gazelle not nearly as reclined (even though it advertised as near flat) and he just resists when I lay it down. With the Metro he laid down and wasn’t lifting his head up! BUT the metro is no much more bulky and heavy than i had hoped. I knew it was 17 pounds but I just hoped it would feel lighter, but it feels very heavy and bulky for carrying around, switching hotels while traveling abroad, etc. I have not received the Zoe yet but after seeing how great the recline is on the metro, I know that the Zoe is not nearly as flat and it’s just not going to do the job. I think it’s only 140° decline. After looking all over, I am just having a really hard time finding a stroller with those two key components 1) a compact 14 pound or less stroller that 2) has 170° or flatter recline. What’s tough is a lot of products don’t list their degree of recline but a lot of the pictures just look sort of like that in between flat and sitting up position like laying back, but not fully laying down. So I am coming to you hoping you guys can recommend some awesome options to check out! I am trying to keep it under $400 if possible. Thank you in advance!
Wanted to share in case interested. I am going to return the stroller. It just feels very cheap. Rickety and low quality materials. Night and day vs. the Ergobaby.
I bought this Graco stroller to be used with car seat insert. But later found mompush travel stroller and loved it.
Mine is pretty tall. We used the Mompush to fly to Italy, tour Rome, and cruise all over the Mediterranean. When collapsed it a rolling carryon with handle. It comes with a carry bag, rain cover, and clip on bottle holder that we never used. Loaded it up with a diaper bag and things for four adults. It can lay flat for bassinet mode, but for us that was really a mobile changing table. It has a great detachable snack tray too. I swear my crowning stroller achievement was when we had to get on and off a small ferry across a gangplank that was a literal board on rocky water. My husband had to walk my parents and carry the bags, and I held my son in one arm, and with the other folded the stroller up and and hoisted it one handed over my head and then crossed. Once on ground again, popped it open, loaded up our son and all our stuff and was ready to go. The German couple that was also on the ferry stopped me to ask what stroller it was.
What is your lifestyle? We live in a walkable area so we got a heavier duty stroller (Uppa baby vista v2) and it has been great for the bumpy roads and sidewalks. We use a MomPush travel stroller for quick car trips and travel. I use the ring sling ALL the time, especially popping into places like appts. Baby naps in it too. She is 98%tile so for comfort we switched to her convertible car seat at 5 months. Bucket seat is sitting in the garage. We never used it in the stroller or taking it anywhere except the first week after the hospital for her initial appts. After that, we transferred and she would sleep through transfers.
