So we have a mountain buggy nano duo for my 13 month old twins that I got primarily because I wanted to be able to easily throw it in the trunk and get it in and out without breaking my back. It's been great, but this past week we rented a baby jogger at Disney World and I can't stop thinking about how sturdy it was, and how much comfier the babies seemed in it. I also loved the higher weight limit for my 3 year old to take turns in. I really don't think the baby jogger is for me permanently, primarily because it is SO bulky and heavy, but I did a little research and it is seeming like the Zoe Twin might be the best of both worlds. I have a couple of questions for anyone who has one, though! -How sturdy does the stroller feel when you're out and about? I loved being able to hook my backpack to the handle of the baby jogger without being worried it would fall over backwards (definitely can't do that with the mountain buggy). -Does it steer fairly smoothly? Can you do it with one hand? -Are the all terrain wheels worth it? It would be nice to cut through grass or gravel without worrying. -How upright are the seats in the most upright position? The mountain buggy's most upright seat position is still a bit more reclined than I like for snacking. I super appreciate any answers y'all have for me! I've been trawling reviews but I trust this group the most. I think we might keep the mountain buggy for when I need a really light option but the bigger these guys get the more I'm feeling like I want a sturdier, comfier daily driver.
I think you're honestly going to want a side by side, they are easier to fold up for travel generally and they make more travel options in side by side. You can get a mountain buggy nano from an open box site like albee baby for under $300, and I can vouch that it is a fantastic stroller. Folds very small and is very lightweight while still not feeling like junk to push. It is also surprisingly narrow and should fit through any doorway wide enough for a wheelchair. There are much less expensive options than that, I just can't vouch for them personally!
The mountain buggy was my daily driver til my twins were over a year! We recently switched to a Zoe twin because I wanted something a little sturdier for day to day now that they are big. Hanging onto our nano for travel though! The thing I like best about it for travel is that it folds into thirds so it gets shockingly small. The folding process is a little more fiddly than other strollers because of that, but as a travel stroller I think it's worth an extra 20 seconds or so. You honestly may find you like a side by side better for day to day too. I find them soooo much easier to maneuver as long as you fit through doorways (again, never had an issue with the mountain buggy nano!).
We're in Canada so I have a mountain buggy nano duo. We've traveled with it to Europe and gate checked it. Works well, has the features you mentioned. Not sure how it compares to Zoe though, as we don't have that up here. Only complaint is the belly bar is a add on AND you can't fold the stroller without removing it, although it does fold with the bar chucked into the basket
I wish I had gotten the frame stroller tandem for the first bit. We got one that converted but didn’t end up using the seats. We switch to mountain buggy urban side by side at 6 months. Best decision ever. It also fit through standard doors. Maybe a touch more bulky when in the car but my kids lived in that stroller for 2 years
Mountain buggy nano duo is about as narrow as they come for a side by side. You can get bassinet attachments for when they’re really young. I think it fits through most doorways. I would hesitate to attach two prams to each other as pushing a pram that’s specifically designed to be side by side and front/back double pram can be challenging enough as it is.
If you want a single-to-double stroller that’s really versatile, the [Mountain Buggy Nano Duo](https://www.reddit.com/r/KeepThisInMind/comments/1lourwj/recommend_the_best_double_strollers_for_travel/) gets great reviews. It’s compact as a single and handles well as a double, plus folds up small for travel.

my favourite has been the mountain buggy duo nano. doesn't cost an INSANE amount but still cost enough to be good quality. side by side, can be adjusted a bunch of different ways (one a little higher/lower, one seat and one bassinet...). the bassinet is sold as its own separate purchase but love having it and excited to switch to the seats. you can buy the car seat adapter but it only works for infant car seats and we got 2 car seats that grow up to 7-8 years old with the twins so that's why we got the bassinet attachments instead (didn't wanna have to buy new car seats after they grew a bit). light weight for lifting it and very narrow so even though it's side by side, it fits pretty much EVERYWHERE. definitely my favourite with totally breaking the bank.
Our strategy that worked well was the Mountain Buggy Nano Duo + 2 Safety First 4-1 Grow Car Seats. We were also on a tight budget (I'm talking about "twins in a 1 bedroom basement suite" type of budget). The Mountain Buggy Nano Duo was compact, lightweight, easy to fold up and unfold, fit pretty much everywhere (we take the bus quite often so that was my big concern), and we really liked it. The only thing I would mention is that you need to purchase the bassinet attachment for the stroller separately (which we were okay with, we used the bassinet attachment for a long time and then switched to the actual seat attachments). We also got the Safety First 4-1 car seats because they lasted through their entire childhoods. Yes we could've gotten car seats that clicked into the strollers but the only car seats that work with the stroller attachment (not just the Mountain Buggy but almost all strollers) are infant car seats and we didn't have the budget to buy 2 infant car seats for the ease of being able to click them in and out of the stroller only for them to outgrow the car seats in a couple of months and have to buy 2 new ones. Ultimately you'll find what works best for your family! We preferred the lightweight side-by-side Nano Duo with the bassinet attachment that switched out into the seat attachment, and we loved the 4-1 car seats so that we never had to worry about getting a car seat ever again but if the idea of being able to swap the car seats in and out of the stroller is big for you, then don't listen to me!
2 of everything I needed! I only had 1 stroller on there (twin mountain buggy duo with bassinet attachment)but only because I got the double snap n go stroller for free from another twin mom. But I did put 2 cribs, car seats, etc
j’ai eu une mountain buggy twin, nickel sur les sentiers et dans la colline / campagne
Hey I have the double mountain buggy my kids are 18 months and just turned 3 and I still use it daily, my friend had her baby in June and a nearly 3 year old and she regrets not getting a double. For holidays or planned trips she will use mine. It’s honestly a god send, and you can have a look second hand and see what you can get. But I feel like it’s made life easier. lots of love xxxx
We got the cybex gazelle. It works great as a single and is easy to switch between single and double modes. It's not any more difficult to navigate than a travel system like the occaro. It's maybe a bit longer but it wasn't a substantial difference. However we have a 23 month age gap and we make big kids. The oldest was ~15 kg at his 2 year check, so too heavy for the top seat and his legs were dangling dangerously low on the bottom seat after a few months. As a result we only used it as a double for about 4 months max. People with a smaller gap or smaller kids might have got away with it until the oldest is out of the pram. We were given an old mountain buggy duo a month or so ago, which is a double side-by-side, and we're loving it. It's much easier to push with 2 kids in as the weight distribution is miles better. Honestly if you're thinking of getting a big travel system and a 2+ year age gap I'd go for the tandem so you get some use out of it and then when that no longer does the job switch to a double side-by-side. If you want a shorter age gap and you're pretty certain you'll have 2 I'd get the bugaboo donkey
