Can confirm that the MBS does really well over bumpy ground. The bassinet is not what OP really wants but I found it incredibly useful for a daytime sleep option for the first few months (just detracted it and used it a LOT).
I had a mountain buggy swift with my first and used it off road all the time (dirt, tree roots, national park etc). I would look for similar this time. It was really lightweight and manoeuvrable as well.
Yes, I loved the Dragonfly and was going to get it and then came across Londoners saying that the front wheels get clogged even with a bit of autumn leaves on the sidewalk. I understand that this isn't a buggy for off-roading but an autumn street walk in London isn't off-roading by any definition. It annoyed me a lot because they refuse to fix it even in new versions. And you can't even detach the wheels at the point where the gunk gets stuck to clean them easily, you have to dig everything out painstakingly instead. To me it seems like it might be intentional enshittification to encourage parents to buy a 2nd buggy for the winter season/"off-roading". It made me want to stay away from the whole Bugaboo brand and I went with a Mountain Buggy Swift because unlike what 90% of buggy manufacturers claim, it turns out it is actually possible to have an all-terrain buggy that's still compact/lightweight.
Mountain buggy swift is perfect for shorter people and it’s very light!
Redsbaby nuvo is an awesome pram and if budget is no issue I’d get that and a travel pram or an off road pram depending on your lifestyle. I have the nuvo and a mountain buggy for bushwalks
you want a 3 wheeler with fixable front wheel. Mountain buggies in all sizes work (we had the Swift which survived 2 kids and was a solid everyday pram from birth onwards and got round a fair few parkruns). Friends have recommended the Out'n'about nipper as well which is a bit bigger. The full running prams like the Thule can be quite big/long and have massive wheels which might not be so good for everyday if you want an allrounder
Mountain Buggy Swift stroller with infant bassinet. Maxi Cosi car seat, 0-4 years. Comfortable soft structured carrier. I'm a huge fan of a 3-wheeled functional, easy to maneuver stroller. I was a nanny for 16 years and Mountain Buggy was hands down my favorite and makes walks a dream. It folds down well. Grows with the baby very well. Incredibly smooth for both. Good storage. And importantly, it lasts! Even if you're small, you'll be able to control it with a couple of fingers, it's so responsive due to the 3-wheels and air filled tires. It is marketed for running and outdoor lifestyles, but it's perfect for city use too. I always encourage my friends to get a stroller for their toddler not their infant, because infant suitable stuff is short lived and a wee baby can work in any stroller but the real test is as baby grows and is heavier and the prams just struggle and then you struggle.
I live and die by our Mountain Buggy Swift. Small enough to fit through the front door of a London bus, but rugged enough for cobbles and trails.
I did not love the uppababy, handle adjustment was not ideal and the brake on ours broke. it's the only double pram we ever had so I cna't compare. but as far as single prams go it does not hold a candle to the mountain buggy swift.
If I could have only 2 prams, the yoyo would be one of them! they're great.
Strollers are like shoes, you *can* have just one kind, you probably need different kinds for different situations. We ended up with I think 5 but in retrospect 3 would have been fine. **Babyzen yoyo** for flights and airports and very smooth shopping centre floors. **UppaBaby Vista double f**or 2 kids and for shopping trips (huge cargo sapce under) **Mountain Buggy Swift** for normal every day walks with one kid: this one is the king of prams, 3 wheel design, pneumatic tyres, perfect handle you can push with one hand, super easy to fold. If I could have only one this would be my one.
I know you found one but I like the mountain buggy v3…. Not only does it lie flat, suitable for newborns, but it can accept ANY newborn or infant car seat … it has a seatbelt like strap attached so you can put your car seat on it and securely attach it. Great if you are ever travelling with a car seat
Get something you can fold up and sling over your shoulder. With our toddler, I used a very lightweight Mountain Buggy that folded up to fit in an overhead compartment. You won't see too many 4 year olds in a stroller over there, but it'll be worth it. It'll allow you to see more and do more, even when the kid is sleeping or jetlagged. Just build in extra time in your itinerary because navigating crowded areas will slow you down, especially when you have to find the only elevator at a train station, which may lead to an inconvenient exit.
