The pipa urbn /Nuna Trvl Lx combo is amazing. I have to walk down a flight of stairs and it works well. I like the Trvl LX because can be used from birth with a near flat recline, super early one hand fold, pretty light, and the wheels and frame are very strong handling not the best streets and sidewalks quite well. While I have a car, there have been times when I needed to take an uber and the urbn was perfect. It just plugs right into the latches. It was so much easier than doing a seat belt install each time. And while it is heavier than our pipa rx, it really wasn’t noticeable like I thought it would be. It felt the same with a 23lb baby in it as the RX. And when he was really little it was great.
I went down a rabbit hole trying to decide the right stroller / car seat for our situation so maybe this look back will help someone! Our situation: \- first baby, now 8 months \- Live in San Francisco in a 2 bedroom condo, on 2nd floor with elevator access \-Narrow entryway to our home, very limited storage space \- No room to store a bassinet attachment. We used the snoo, and maybe if we hadn’t we would have gotten an uppa baby with bassinet attachment and used the bassinet as primary sleeping place \- During the week we walk everywhere, very walkable neighborhood \- On weekends we do drive to suburbs to see family and friends, go to Costco and grocery stores, etc \- Have taken one long road trip to SoCal and one flight to Hawaii so far, brought stroller and car seat to both trips Because of the conditions above, we decided we needed to maximize for lightweight and slim stroller and car seat. Nuna pipa aire car seat \- lightweight and easy to carry \- Clips in easily to the nuna TRVL LX \- Clips in easily to base, and can also be configured quickly with seatbelt when traveling without base Nuna TRVL LX as our only and primary stroller \- tried out at Nordstrom and liked the one hand fold, easy to throw in trunk and also fold down to store in our laundry corner at home when not in use Things I was worried about that aren’t a big deal to us \- It’s a travel stroller but doesn’t fit in the overhead compartment. We ended up gate checking both the stroller and car seat and was fine not having to put the stroller overhead \- Small basket underneath. The basket fits my large calpak diaper bag. I also bought a Mina baie stroller caddy attachment where I always keep some essentials. Stroller can fold up with the stroller caddy still attached \- No bassinet means newborn has to be in car seat for so long - realistically I was not taking baby on walks longer than one hour so plenty under the car seat threshold \- No ability to have the baby face you once you use the regular stroller seat - hasn’t been a big deal for us. She’s about 50 percentile so very average size, we kept her parent facing in the car seat for walks until about 6 months and then started having her sit in the regular stroller seat \- Nuna tries to tell you it’s a lay flat seat but i wouldn’t put a newborn in there so I don’t see it as the same functionality as a bassinet. Now at 8 months we do use the lay flat feature for her to take naps when we’re out and about and love that
I did!! I got the nuna trvl lx. I love it!! The fold is perfect, the ride is smooth. My baby loves it!
I didn’t know that!! I thought I wanted the yoyo too. I wanted a more compact single stroller. But when I went in to try it I wasn’t a huge fan. Ended up getting the nuna trvl lx! The back comes down so baby can lay down & use it from newborn. I think it’s smoothn& I love the fold & basket space. I haven’t tried it in the snow though! I’ve really only used it when going shopping & on road walks. So I can’t say it’s all terrain like you’re looking for. My 4mo girl loves it though!
Not sure about the bugaboo, but I have the nuna and I love it. Super easy to get into and out of the car, and store in the garage. We had no issues with gate checking it…. Tbh I feel like trying to get it on the plane and into the overhead would be more of a hassle.
Both strollers recline and are newborn compatible. Are you planning on connecting a car seat? One thing to consider is that the Nuna one appears to only be compatible with Nuna car seats, while the Minu is compatible with Uppababy, Nuna, Cybex, Clek and Maxi-Cosi depending which adapter you buy, so much more flexible with car seats The Minu V3 is much smaller when folded and will fit in an airplane (10x18x21.5, ) The nuna is much bigger folded (27x14x21). Similar overall weights - both 15-17 lbs depending on equipment Minu has a much larger basket, which is even more useful if this is a daily use stroller. Minu is meaningfully cheaper - 500 vs 600 in the US, not sure about your country I would buy the Minu
We had a similar debate and got the nuna TRVL LX because it is lay flat and can be used for newborns / from birth. I really liked the uppababy mini v3 but it can’t, and I believe it is starting at 3 months only (newborn capable in the car seat with attachment).
