Bugaboo Donkey is very wide, look for something that not so wide, like out n about.. we have that; much more narrow; a dream to push and easy to close! With tandem, even if you are ok with it, as they grow your twins might fight as to who should get the better view and refuse to get in; I have heard that happening, so chose side by side!
r/parentsofmultiples • Has anyone bought a tandem stroller but later regretted not getting a side-by-side instead? ->I've got VW golf and can fit my Icandy Orange pram in, I just have to take off one wheel to get the door shut. When the bassinet was on I would take that off and place it on top in the boot, now shes in the seat I can fold it down with it attached and place in the boot, still with one wheel off. I can also fit in my running buggy (out and about brand). We take off the side wheels for that too as its a bit longer with them on. I find getting her in and out fine. Her first carseat was a maxi cosi pebble 360. And we upgraded recently to the maxi cosi emerald which is also great. I am used to doing all this in our other car too though which is smaller - a Toyota GR Yaris
r/BeyondTheBumpUK • Will a VW Golf be too small for baby & pram? ->Other half ran with a nipper out and about. Second child as a toddler absolutely loved it, thought it was the biggest laugh and often conked out after fifteen minutes. However he needed to plan a 'flat route' as nipper doesn't handle off-road style at speed so it's mainly a road runner buggy. Edit - when she was about two she would yell 'encouragement' at him to make him go faster
r/UKParenting • Does anyone run with a pushchair? Any tips? ->My time to shine as I've bought way too many prams (let's just ignore that financial irresponsibility). A few questions to ask yourself: - Will you want more than one kid? - How is the access to your house - Where do you live and how do you go out and about I will list some pros and cons for the ones I've had. - Yoyo - small canopy and smaller overall for a pram, even for a compact one, airline compliant, it does require two hands to fold it down - I've had two of these, one with me and one with my parents, ended up using a couple of times each - terrible on cobblestone - Joolz Aer+ - my favourite compact one, the canopy is huge (meaning that you can extend it to get the baby to sleep and almost no light passes) more stable and has significantly more space than the yoyo, lays down flat. It is also possible to fold it with one hand and carry it on the side on the tube - Icandy orange - if you want kids close by this will save you a few headaches. You can transform it into a double and it has an integrated buggy board, the basket holds a lot and it is easy access (seats are quite small), the sweet spot for this one is when your second kid is between 6 months and 16 months and your oldest is too big for a pram but can't walk a lot (between 2.5 and 4 I would say). The integrated buggy board for perfect for us during these months - other parents were kicking their buggy boards and always having to lift it up, walking on the side of the pram and I was cruising. I believe they have a new version now that icandy core? Which has an integrated buggy board and possibility of having different wheels. This pram is very bulky but great for country side walks, very stable, height adjustable handle. Again, very bulky but hey, a child can even fit on the basket - Bugaboo fox - amazing canopy, again, if your baby naps on the pram, you want this. Better looking than the Icandy Orange. Still behaves pretty well "off road". Folds a bit smaller than the Icandy and the seat fits a bigger child when comparing to the Icandy (I would say a much bigger child). If you are planning for one child only I would go with this one as a big pram. For 2, you will have to add an annoying buggy board that will be kicked and will be uncomfortable. Still bulky and not practical going up and down stairs but better than the Icandy - Double Britax - fits 2 kids up to 22kg each, got it for a holiday, used twice, easy to maneuver but very bulky, one more mm and would not fit on our garden door - if you need a double pram it is a good solution but if not twins you are probably better with a normal one. The canopy extends but it is mesh on the top, therefore light still passes (but you can see the children) - Out n About runner - very stable, I don't run but this is very cool and stable. We usually use it for travelling by train or when we feel like a bigger pram will be needed. It can fit two children sitting inside - a 4 yo can still nap inside if required. Very short canopy And I think these are the most relevant. If you are only going to buy one, I would say the Joolz aer, it is quite stable for a small pram and spacious as well. I, somehow, never liked any silvercross but I do see some people with it, for me, they never had a feature that would make me buy them (and I bought a lot of prams)
r/HENRYUKLifestyle • Choosing pram. Recommendations? ->Did a few parkruns with my kid in a Nipper Sport until about age 5 and they got too heavy for me up the hills. We also used to run to nursery (about 1 mile each way) which was always fun - in winter, I'd use a puffer jacket like a quilt to keep the kid warm. We'd also tuck a portable speaker in the pushchair hood and play tunes on the way which made things fun. The pushchair we had is the 'sleek one with big wheels' as you say, which is not the most practical - usually took one or both wheels off to go in the car (despite being an estate). Also, the front wheel is fixed and, with such a long wheelbase, it's not the best turning circle. Not ideal for negotiating shops etc! I enjoyed it, if you can find a 2nd hand one for a good price I'd say give it a try.
r/UKParenting • Does anyone run with a pushchair? Any tips? ->I run with my 3YO and 5YO, between 5k and 20k a week depending on the season/what we're doing. If I didn't, I would get no exercise ever and would be a small puddle of anxiety and depression on the floor. I started in lockdown with the 1YO in an OutnAbout Sport, when the 2nd one got big enough to run with I switched to a [Burley Dlite X](https://burley.com/en-uk/products/dlite-x) double with jogging wheel, which is pricey but awesome (and coverts to a bike trailer if that's your thing). I've done races with them (5ks last summer, we are working up to a 10k this year as it will probably be our last summer before 5YO wants to run on her own) and can't recommend it enough! A really good place to start is https://www.runningbuggies.com/ -- not to buy their stuff (I never have) but because they have a really good FAQ and safety guidance especiallyon what you need to keep things safe for younger babies (not relevant to OP but may be for someone else reading this). If you want to try before you buy, I recommend [Kids' Bike Trailers](https://www.kidsbiketrailers.co.uk/) which will let you hire with the option to purchase if you enjoy it, which I ended up doing!
r/UKParenting • Does anyone run with a pushchair? Any tips? ->If I were to do it all again, I’d get the Out N About Nipper. I have the double version of it now and it’s far easier to use than my Nuna Mixx, so much that I use it when I only have the baby. Don’t choose style over substance, you won’t care!
r/BuyItForLife • #1 baby on the way. Which stroller would you recommend for a newborn that can ideally be used until age 3? ->I genuinely don't think one buggy can do it all, and anything that says it can just does lots of jobs badly. Also buggies depreciate wildly, so two cheap, second hand ones is better than one expensive (because they're so expensive!) new one. From my experience, an Out N About is the best rural buggy around. In a city I had a Yoto, but that was ages ago and I think there's a lot more variety now.
r/UKParenting • First time parents, pram help ->We had a "proper" running buggy and it was much lighter. Might be worth investing if you enjoy it. I've run with out n about and it's do able but not so much fun, maybe stick to proper paths at first? Our children loved it. A classic Sunday morning outing would be one of us running with the child while the other walked the dog and then meeting at a cafe for coffee. Or someone having a lie in while the other gave them space. You can do parkrun with a buggy, and I'm sure people there would have up to date tips
r/UKParenting • Does anyone run with a pushchair? Any tips? ->I don’t know if they sell them in the US. I don’t see it often. But without a doubt. My out n about is brilliant. It’s off-road. And legitimately can handle everything throw at it. It’s super sturdy - I sit on it for a little rest sometimes 😂 but my 4 year old can easily go in it. It’s really comfortable and set back against the weather. The footmuff is cosy. Honestly I love it and between my 3 kids I’ve tried probably 12 pushchairs and this is the absolute GOAT 🐐.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • If you had $300 for a baby stroller, which one would you buy? ->I’ve got the out and about big wheeled one it’s amazing, definitely great for jogging and off road particularly
