Based on 1 year's data from Feb 24, 2026 How it works
On baby 2, with baby 1 we used a few second hand buggies. For walking, even in the city on uneven pavements, 3-wheel buggy is best. I'm thinking about buying nipper v6 plus with swith bassinet, os I can have my kid in parent facing mode for a bit longer. Earlier we used baby jogger city mini gt 2, which was mostly good, but had no option for parent facing seat. You can buy car seat attachments for it if needed. We gave pram away after our first to save space, not because it was bad. We got it second hand from someone using it for about 8 years, we used it for another two and it was still going strong. For travel we have gb pockit all-terrain plus. It's very small, can have car seat attachments, and has carrycot option if you need. In airlines they frequently let me take it on board. We also used oyster, which was okay but the front wheels sometimes were bending underneath the stroller when getting off the curbs. We had briefly silvercross pioneer but hate it. It's huge, front wheels bend underneath it on even small bumps, basket is huge but somehow I can pack less than in our baby jogger and to access it for anything bigger I need to take off whole bassinet.
The nipper is great. I had a nipper sport and a 360. I would probably go with the 360 as a general all rounder - we used it as our main buggy as it was better than our expensive icandy, but the sport is excellent on really rough terrain and for running. I’d recommend getting a second hand one on marketplace. We did that and sold it on for pretty much no loss a few years later
I've got VW golf and can fit my Icandy Orange pram in, I just have to take off one wheel to get the door shut. When the bassinet was on I would take that off and place it on top in the boot, now shes in the seat I can fold it down with it attached and place in the boot, still with one wheel off. I can also fit in my running buggy (out and about brand). We take off the side wheels for that too as its a bit longer with them on. I find getting her in and out fine. Her first carseat was a maxi cosi pebble 360. And we upgraded recently to the maxi cosi emerald which is also great. I am used to doing all this in our other car too though which is smaller - a Toyota GR Yaris
Other half ran with a nipper out and about. Second child as a toddler absolutely loved it, thought it was the biggest laugh and often conked out after fifteen minutes. However he needed to plan a 'flat route' as nipper doesn't handle off-road style at speed so it's mainly a road runner buggy. Edit - when she was about two she would yell 'encouragement' at him to make him go faster
If I were to do it all again, I’d get the Out N About Nipper. I have the double version of it now and it’s far easier to use than my Nuna Mixx, so much that I use it when I only have the baby. Don’t choose style over substance, you won’t care!
We had a "proper" running buggy and it was much lighter. Might be worth investing if you enjoy it. I've run with out n about and it's do able but not so much fun, maybe stick to proper paths at first? Our children loved it. A classic Sunday morning outing would be one of us running with the child while the other walked the dog and then meeting at a cafe for coffee. Or someone having a lie in while the other gave them space. You can do parkrun with a buggy, and I'm sure people there would have up to date tips
I genuinely don't think one buggy can do it all, and anything that says it can just does lots of jobs badly. Also buggies depreciate wildly, so two cheap, second hand ones is better than one expensive (because they're so expensive!) new one. From my experience, an Out N About is the best rural buggy around. In a city I had a Yoto, but that was ages ago and I think there's a lot more variety now.
Thule Glide / Urban Glide is the best, Out n About Nipper is a good alternative. Source: I have that sub 20 buggy parkrun
+1 for the nipper here. Our little man's 2 now and he's been out running with me since about 6 months old. Lightweight, hard-wearing, simple to collapse and put up and the foot muff is amazing for colder weather The only bad things I have to about it is the included raincover is less than durable, we've had to replace it once already and the 2nd one is on its way out Storage underneath isn't fantastic but you get a big pocket on either side of the pull over cover The plastic break also wears down and needs greasing (wd40) - I think when this gives up the go will be the death of our pram
I run with my out n about, you can pick up amazing deals on Facebook marketplace from people who never used it. Look between nipper and nipper sport for the always locked or lockable wheel. They are very lightweight, especially the nipper, but the nipper is a bit less rugged, but still fine for offroad exploring and even round shops and dealing with curbs. Seen quite a lot of the Hauck and like that they have more storage space, but they do look less rugged than the nipper.

Honestly the donkey isn’t that big. It gets through a doorway. It’s only monstrous when you use car seat adapter. Though I’ve seen now there are better, lighter buggy’s that have carrycot adapters - like the nipper out’n’about but you put the seats flat and a carrycot inserts. If I was buying again I would get that. Glad I didn’t go for the gazelle.
