Just purchased the vivace and happy with it so far!
also keep in mind they remodeled the vivace in 2025. the price difference youre seeing on Amazon and brick and motar may be the different models as theyre not always clearly labeled. i got the 2025 version and the price on amazon was the same as brick and mortar for the 5 year warranty. the 2025 model only comes in two colors. i learned about it from this video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faff8rurt-I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faff8rurt-I)
I have the Veloce which is very similar and I absolutely love it. We've been using it for 13 months now and it's taken us from newborn to now toddler years. We had baby facing us until he was around 10 months old so it was very useful. We still face him towards us if we have a cold windy day and the wind is coming from the front. IIRC both Veloce and Vivace have the ability to do a flat recline. We used this a lotttttt and still do to this day when we need to get a good nap in while out. We considered the butterfly too but decided not to get it because people said it gets stuck in the snow. We walk a lot even in the winter so that wouldn't work.
My husband and I just got the Peg Perego Vivace about a week ago for similar reasons (lightweight but sturdy/well-made; easy to fold/unfold; compact for our small home/cars). We love it. Super easy to use/true one-handed fold; super light; takes up less than 1/6 of the trunk of my Honda Civic. It is completely beautiful (the quality of the chasis and seat feels a lot better than that of strollers we saw at Pottery Barn/Nordstroms - UppaBaby Vista was hard to fold/unfold and just really heavy; I did not love the Nuna frames - the handles felt a little flimsy, but are adjustable unlike the Vivace; I was expecting to buy but was underwhelmed by the Silver Cross strollers we saw). The vivace pushes great on sidewalks & the road and has good suspension; and it works pretty well on grass and packed earth. Not great on gravel. (Would maybe reconsider if you're mainly walking on loose gravel/"off-roading"; but great for city walking - we walked an empty bassinet for a mile or so and didnt want to stop). Handlebars are non-adjustable, but work perfect for my husband and I (5'5 and 5'10). I had a question about the bassinet and customer service was wonderful/knowledgable - but I haven't called with any real product issues/complaints (obviously! I just got it & love it) so can't speak to that. Overall - I love LOVE it for everyday urban use as someone who loves to walk (I walk about 30-45 minutes/day); it is really beyond perfect for what we need. If you are going running with your stroller; or are frequently taking the stroller off paved roads/sidewalks and on gravel, I might opt for something with bigger wheels/front wheels that lock (but that will be less compact/heavier).
My main advice would be go to a baby store and test them out. I had a totally different perspective before we did that and it actually helped us decide on a stroller. We ended up going with a Peg Perego Vivace after trying out an YPSI in store. Peg Perego was not at all on our radar before that.
Hello all, I’m expecting my first baby at the beginning of August and can’t seem to figure out what to do about a stroller. My partner and I live on the second and third floor of a town house in Toronto. Our front door opens into a tiny entryway and stairs up to our main floor. Not a ton of storage space on the bottom but a folded up stroller should fit. An open one won’t. We also don’t own a car but do use a Communauto car semi-regularly. We mostly walk and use public transit, both of which are very possible in our neighbourhood. I’ve been looking into an Uppababy Cruz which are abundantly available on facebook marketplace which is a plus but I can’t figure out if this is actually the best solution for us if I have to fold it up each time and take off the bassinet every time I do that. Recently my research has led me to travel strollers that lie flat (I know none of them are actually 100% flat) and can be used from birth, like the Uppababy Minu V3 or Silver Cross Clic. Except I can’t find a lot of reviews from people who have used this kind of stroller as their main stroller from birth. Has anyone done this? Thoughts - positive or negative? Or have you been in a similar situation and had success with a full-sized stroller? We are not planning to have a second baby so don’t need it to work for multiple children. Thank you!! ETA: Thank you all so much for your input! This really was helpful. After reading all your comments and thinking about it some more, I kind of went off of both getting a Cruz or a travel stroller. I did start thinking a bit more about the one stroller I tried out in a store and really liked, which was the Peg Perego YPSI. We initially discounted it because it was a bit out of our price range and we don't need a stroller that turns into a double. HOWEVER, in my research, I discovered that Peg makes strollers that have similar capabilities as the YPSI but don't convert into a dual stroller. After watching a whole bunch of videos and going down a whole bunch of rabbit holes, I ended up just deciding to get a Peg Perego Vivace (2025 version). And I'm really happy with my choice. After months of hemming and hawing, I'm happy to have just made the decision and I can move on.
Thank you so much for your input. I put this in an ETA in the main post but after everyone's feedback and doing more research, I decided to trust my instinct on the Peg Perego I had tried out in store. I didn't get the YPSI but ended up getting a Peg Perego Vivace (2025 version) which is similar (just doesn't convert into a double, which we don't need) and seems to do a lot of the things we want it to do. It's weirdly so hard to find reviews of Peg strollers so thank you very much for helping me make this decision!
I just bought the Vivace and while I cannot compare it to the Butterfly and don’t actually have a baby yet, I really like it so far. I tried an YPSI out in store and loved it but that one was too expensive for me and I also don’t need a stroller that converts to dual. So I went for the Vivace. It looks really nice, definitely below 22 lbs, and compact when folded, drives super smooth and can be used from birth which was a key factor for me. I never thought too much about the parent/world facing part of it but a few of my friends have anecdotally told me that especially their newborn/little babies were very calmed by being able to look at their parent but then when they got older wanted to look out at the world. This gives you both options!
We have the peg Perego vivace trio and i love it. We live in an European city, we need something compact, light and robust. Also, we’ve been driving around since the baby was super tiny so we wanted a reclining car seat. There are plenty of YouTube videos comparing brands, figure out what you need and go for it. I second the “measure your door” comment, I bought a second hand cheap stroller for the beach and it doesn’t really fit through the lift doors of the building our beach flat is at, and we’re on the 19th floor…
Vivace is great. I’ve known the people who work at Peg, as well as the owners, for nearly 20 years and they are wonderful people.
