The better it is on uneven terrain/inclines the less foldable and heavier it’s going to be. You’ll have to decide if you want to split the difference and get something in the middle or get two. We ended up getting two. We have a silver cross one that barely folds down and is relatively heavy but it’s incredibly sturdy, has great suspension, a massive basket and has been taken on many a countryside walk across mud, gravel, rocks etc. We then also have a yoyo for travel that folds down small enough to go in the overhead compartment in a plane.
r/NewParents • Stroller Recommendations? ->I’ve literally never seen them there and I spent many hours there trying to convince myself I needed and could afford a Bugaboo. (Surprise to no one, I didn’t and I couldn’t! Lol) Nuna, Uppababy, Silver Cross, Thule, Doona, Joolz, Cybex, sure. Chicco? Never. Maybe this is a new development? 🤷🏻♀️

r/nycparents • Where to see non-luxury strollers in-person ->I have the nuna triv next & like it but don’t love it. We have a silver cross reef for our main stroller & bassinet (I believe it’s an EU brand) and we love that one. The nuna is sort of cheap feeling & doesn’t have very good suspension when comparing the two. It’s still a great stroller but because I have (imo a better one) I don’t think it’s as amazing as the internet makes it seem 😆 I almost wish we’d gotten the nuna mixx or Demi but I’ve seen how the footrest sags on the mixx after a while of use since there’s no frame to support it, and the Demi was just way too big when I tried it out in store.
r/BabyBumps • Stroller doubts ->We have a nuna triv and plan on using it as our primary stroller. We also have a silver cross reef for big/long walks in our neighborhood & uppababy minu for travel. I think the triv is big enough for daily/regular use but it’s light enough that I can carry it & it doesn’t feel super heavy. We got it as an unexpected gift from a friend, so we already had the other two prior 💀 otherwise I think we could’ve been ok with just the triv! The only thing I dislike about it is that the baby feels like they’re kinda low to the ground. With the nuna mixx and silver cross the seat is a big higher but idk if that’s a deal breaker for everyone or just me lol.
r/Buyingforbaby • Nuna Triv Next as the only stroller? ->I bought the silver cross reef 2– best stroller ever
r/newborns • Silver Cross Reef 2- Why is this brand even sold in the US? ->We got a lot of stuff from buy nothing groups on Facebook and hand me downs. We splashed out on a Silver Cross Stroller and an Owlet monitor. We got a changing table and rocking chair from Ikea, and then went midrange on Philips Avent for bottles and steriliser / warmer. We got a BabyBjorn carrier and bouncer, a Lovevery play mat, Halo Bassinest, Boppy cushions all as hand me downs and Facebook buy nothing. We bought a second hand Nuna car seat from a very trusted friend in an almost new condition. I got my pump through our insurance.
r/BabyBumps • Baby items are SO expensive my gosh ->I am also so overwhelmed with picking a stroller. I’ve decided on a baseless car seat but because it’ll only be used for the first year alone, I can’t justify spending on a Nuna car seat. I think I’m set on the Clek Liingo baseless. Finding a compatible stroller I like is the issue. I like the Silver Cross Reef 2, because I can see myself using it long term and if we have a second baby, but ChatGPT doesn’t seem to like it lol. I’m not sure what other options to consider. There is the Joie Mint Latch paired with the Joie Ginger LX that I almost was sure I was going to get, but the fact they use flame retardants on their car seat has me second guessing.
r/Buyingforbaby • How does anyone pick a stroller 😭 open to suggestions ->I have the Reef 2 and my little boy has just turned 6 months so have just started using the parent facing seat rather than the bassinet. Pros: it’s really sturdy, we use it for both urban and countryside walks and it handles well for both, a lot of people comment on how nice it looks (not that it matters but still!), suspension really does help on bumpier paths and the brake is solid. Bassinet folds and is safe for occasional overnight sleeping which was great when visiting family in the early days. Cons: when you fold it down with the parent facing seat attached it is very unwieldy and heavy. My mother in law is in her late 60s and she definitely can’t lift it into the boot when folded, I need two hands and still I find it a bit heavy. I also find the harness a bit of a faff to fasten when there’s a wriggly baby involved (esp when the footmuff is also on). I have seen the new Silver Cross Nia and it looks to be much easier to transport around than my Reef 2 so might be worth checking out to see if it would be up to the countryside walks!
r/UKParenting • First time parents, pram help ->just spent a month researching. my takeaway: Nuna - loved this one the most (mixx or trvl xl) but all of the carseats/accesories make it extra pricey. my fav uber premium option uppababy- i found these all to be kind of rigid and too large. didn't like the vibe but its obvs popular mockingbird - decided on this one and so far love the balance of quality and price point. truly feels strong but also premium, while not being huge, and almost all the features feel obvious instead of buried silver cross - if you really want to go with the most premium it is indeed very nice. graco Modes nest - solid budget option. felt a little on the light/fragile side for me but if lightweight with versatility is important, this one isn't bad at all bugaboo - maybe the one i tried was a janky floor model but i didn't think it was smooth at all. nuna/mock crushed it
r/beyondthebump • Best stroller/travel system ->I went with the nuna mixx next. I like mostly everything about it except the footrest is quite loosely flimsy a bit..which isnt much of a con tbh. Also the storage bag underneath is quite small compared to the competition. Other than that its great. Other great strollers I had on my list back when I was choosing a stroller were the Uppababy Cruz, and the silvercross reef. Wife didnt like the aesthetic design or fold of the Cruz compared to the Nuna. While I would've chosen the SC Reef as my primary option...its damn expensive compared to the Nuna and Uppababy. I also looked at bugaboo too, but it didnt really stand a chance getting chosen since the wife was sooo into the Nuna.
r/Buyingforbaby • So overwhelmed by strollers: Nuna or Bugaboo? ->I ended up choosing the Mixx Next. My wife fell in love with the aesthetic and sky drape. While I fell in love with the suspension (best in it's class). The under basket is quite small though compared to the Cruz but we hardly ever use it. Diaper bag usually just clips onto the handle. The foot rest is a bit cheapy on the Mixx Next. It's flimsy as heck, but it was super useful when in flat recline because I could unsnap a button on each side to snap upwards against the carseat so nothing/baby slips downwards and falls for any reason. Sort of mimics the bassinet a bit so nothing will fall out. Cruz was great too but my wife didn't prefer it. I liked the frame of the Cruz was very sturdy. Hated the Vista though because it was super bulky. Both strollers glided like a dream though. If I had to choose again though honestly id get a Silver Cross Reef, just because it was my favorite lmao I simply didn't choose it because of the damn price, and I know 2nd time around I know I can save more than the amount of $ for it since i won't be repurchasing some other baby items and simply reusing a lot of it....and if I ever have twins..then lord have mercy on my soul, but I know I'd get a Bugaboo Donkey lol
r/Buyingforbaby • Stroller and infant car seat recommendations, budget ~$1500 ->Got silver cross reef 2. Hated it. Sold it and got the joolz aer + x
r/BeyondTheBumpUK • What pram did you get? ->Love joolz. We sold our silver cross to replace joolz x no regrets
r/BeyondTheBumpUK • What pram did you get? ->Omg I feel like I could have written this!!!! I felt the absolute same. Had c section. Sooooo heavy too. I didn’t lift the damn thing in the shop cos I was preg so never realised its weight. And me and my husband detested the magnetic clasp. We did make use of the bassinet for safe sleeping for a few months until he preferred the contact naps. I struggled so much with the curb too. I managed to sell it on for a good price because the buyer liked how it folded with the seat on for boot space 🤣. Thank goodness someone liked it.
