Hey, I have the Silvercross Tide, an all terrain travel system. I live in the countryside, so i don’t regularly use trains. I am very happy with it, it copes well with the uneven ground and streets in our city. It is comfortable for my baby to sleep in and has decent storage. It was a good compromise between the really big prams, like Bugaboo Fox, and the compact city prams. My husband and I have a big height difference and the extendable handlebar suits us both. It is relatively light, I think around 10kg with the seat. But it is bulky, doesn’t stand upright when folded. It doesn’t open or close with one hand. I wouldn’t recommend it if you have a small car, or small home. It also doesn’t have the ability to convert to a double pram, and doesn’t have accessories like a snack tray or carry bag. When you buy a travel system think beyond the first six months. What’s your lifestyle like, and what are your must-haves.
I have the silver cross tide. I took our lift dimensions to the pram center and that was one of the only ones that fit 😂 it is small and I can lift it up stairs if needed, handle extend long enough for my husband ( we found he hunched when we tried the triv). Takes up very little space in the flat, and squeezes into small spaces on public transport. We have no car but it does fit in my mum's boot (wee golf) no problem. I'm def putting more in the pram basket than it says you can on their site 😅 crap on the grass, no idea how it would fare on the plane, we are just going to take a very cheap pram on holiday.
Another vote for Silvercross (can't remember the model name). Think it was around €700 at the time, didn't have an isofix car but IIRC if we did the base would have been about 150 on top. I've seen similar recently so it's definitely still sold. We had it for close to 10 years and 3 kids. It got absolute dogs abuse, 2km a day in walks to & from the school with a buggy board attached, or up to the shops & back loaded with shopping & toddlers. Everything removable was machine washable. Each new child we refreshed it by buying new covers in different colours and it stood up to me powerwashing the frame if it got manky. Only issue we ever had was one of the wheels got squeaky but nothing that WD-40 didn't sort
I used this for a holiday abroad when my baby was 6 months and he got on really well with it. It was super light yet not flimsy and he napped great in it. I have a Silvercross travel system which I love but I use the Joie from time to time as a lighter option. I think it’s really good for £50 if OP doesn’t want to spend much
Never been happy with Silvercross. We’ve had the Silvercross full bundle - car seat was rubbish and the pram was heavy and impractical. Rucksack and hand warmers were a nice touch. I would avoid any Silvercross products based on my experience. We’ve had the Bugaboo double (side by side, called donkey I think?!) - it’s good but a bit unwieldy, Doona one that converts to a car seat (useful but heavy and uncomfortable for child), Babyzen yo-yo (useful for travel but limited) and the Joolz aer which is great for travel (can get on a plane) and more versatile than the Babyzen so it can be used more like a normal pram - it’s been my favourite travel pram. On a side note, the Cybex car seats that rotate are amazing.
Cx3 and using a redsbaby skip 3. Although I should mention that’s our secondary pram and only for indoor use eg at the shops, main pram is a silver cross that goes in my partner’s car
