We have the Wave from 2022 and absolutely love it. We now have a 2.5 year old and a 12 week old and use it regularly. Love the high weight limit as well. Only complaint is when you have it set up with 2 kiddos, the bassinet can’t sit in the top position with the adaptors we have. The only work around is to buy another seat, whereas the new version allows this. Definitely worth every penny though!
Also - want to add we use the bassinet/bassinet stand a ton in the first few weeks with our babies!! Another complaint I remembered is the bassinet doesn’t fold down for travel. Their new travel stroller does though
How long until bub is here? If it's a while away, wait until then in case the older one doesn't want to use the pram that much? But if you do get one - look at Silvercross wave. I have the wave 3 so can't comment on earlier models. I find that you can get a pretty good deal on marketplace as they aren't as popular as Uppababy or Bugaboo etc. You can have any combination with the silvercross wave including bassinet up top. The seats are huge so the kids won't grow out of them so soon. The storage basket is massive. We do lots of walks (5k loop from our house to the park) so it was important to have something sturdy. It turns easily. The negatives are that it's heavy but I don't notice it anymore. The folding mechanism could be easier but I feel like most prams are like that. The harness clip can be fiddly which sometimes drives me mad. Overall it's a great double pram
I have a Silvercross Wave. Pros: similar price range to Uppababy vista but you get everything (2 seats, 1 bassinet) so it works out cheaper, double pram, bassinet can go up top, seats are full size so toddlers won't grow out of them so fast, massive basket, it's sturdy and I never feel like it's going to tip over, so many seat configurations, seats can recline if you're blessed with a baby that sleeps in the pram, there is a skateboard attachment you can buy, brake is solid Cons: it's heavy but I was ok with that because of how sturdy it is, two handed fold down but I do find it easy enough, you don't have to but I take the seat off to fold down so it's not so heavy lifting into the car, sun shades aren't long enough and we do lots of walking in the Qld sun so I feel like the sun is always getting in, after sales service is almost non existent. Overall I love it and would recommend it, but I am looking at a side by side double for walks only. I love the Bugaboo sun shades and I like the idea of babies side by side but I don't want a big side by side pram when I'm out shopping.
We wanted a single to double option, and ended up with the silver cross wave 3 with the clek liing infant seat. The silver cross wave is sturdy and perfect for walks, but it takes up tons of space in the trunk. So we’re buying a silver cross travel stroller to allow us to be more mobile. Of all the single to double options, the wave has the most reasonable option of toddler up front and baby closer to the parent up top.
Silver cross wave 3 for daily driver (planning on having 3 and we never fold it), silver cross clic for travel (airplanes, subway and cars). Car seat is nuna pipa rx. Stellar all around so far, no complaints
I did a ton of research when I thought I wanted a double. For me, overall quality and the ability for the toddler seat to be world facing while the bassinet could be on top was a priority. These are the three that I was deeply considering: Silver Cross Wave 3, the bassinet can be on top while toddler seat can be world facing. Bugaboo Kangaroo, the bassinet can be on top while toddler seat can be world facing. Cybex Gazelle, bassinet can be on the top, but then the toddler is parent facing which looks claustrophobic for the toddler. Some points to consider is whether or not the stroller can be folded with the seats attached. And overall how small or large it folds.
I bought 3 strollers before baby was born and has no regrets. You need to think about your uses cases and then fit your stroller to that. We bought the Evenflo Shyft Dualride (like the doona but better safety ratings). This was so convenient for the first 6 months for all of babies appointments and little outings. We also bought the Silver Cross Wave 3 which is a single to double stroller and comes with all the seats and a bassinet. It’s a very smooth ride but it is big and heavy. I don’t know that we’d ever put it in the car to take it somewhere. We’re hoping to have 2 under 2 so maybe. We bought it because we take out dogs for 2 walks a day so it lives in the garage and gets a lot of use that way. Our third stroller is the Uppababy Minu v3. One handed fold, super lightweight, fits in the overhead bin on most planes, and is rate for newborns. This stroller lives in the car and we took it on a trip overseas when baby was 3 months old and it was great.
Yes, if I had to drop to one stroller it would be the Minu v3. I assume you’ll have a separate car seat and I would make sure to buy the adapters for it to click onto the Minu. It says it’s safe for newborns but the reclines isn’t completely flat and every review I read/watched said they thought it was more suitable for 3 months plus.
