Thoughts about the uppababy MINUs - Minu v1 I think this is the only version that has a collapsible bassinet option. I do not think you can buy this version from uppababy anymore or the bassinet accessory. I’ve seen these floating around Facebook marketplace sometimes. - Minu v2: uppababy just stopped making Minu v2s but all the accessories are still available at their website, and lots of Minu v2s are still in stock in most retailers and goodbuygear. I previously had a Minu v2 and I absolutely loved it. You can get car seat adapters so it can be compatible with uppababy’s car seat and bassinet attachment (which is safe sleep approved), and then at 3mo you can start using the regular seat. The only thing is you need to uninstall the fabric seat to use the bassinet with the adapters, but I didn’t need the fabric seat at the time anyways. -Minu v3: uppababy just released this version, it is about the size of the bugaboo butterfly now so it can go on the overhead compartment of the plane. It has sturdier wheels than the butterfly and is “newborn friendly.” Unfortunately uppababy decided not to make the traditional bassinet compatible with this stroller, but the seat almost lies flat so it’s “not necessary.” It does have car seat adapters though so that is helpful. None of the minus have reversible seats. But the Minu v2 has the bassinet that you can have facing toward you. Note on the YOYOs: I have less experience with the yo-yo, but i briefly used the newborn attachment and I really found it handy. It was nice to have a super compact stroller in tight spaces where I could potentially lay my little one for a nap in a friends house or restaurant. The yo-yo also has a bassinet shell that can be used, and car seat adapters for the nuna. However I think you have to use one adapter/set at a time (you can’t keep the newborn attachment on under and attach the car seat on top. ) The yo-yo2 and 3 frame is the same, but the yoyo3 fabric seat has a much better shade coverage. If you get the full stroller and a newborn pack separately, definitely get the yoyo3 and not a yoyo2. Alternatively you can get the yoyo2 and separately buy a yoyo3 color pack.

r/AmtrakSeeming Advice on Traveling with Infant?

We traveled the NEC with a 14 month old from DC to Boston to back. It went great! Here's what we found: * The Regionals do *not* have changing stations. Both generations of Acela do. * We have a yoyo2 and used it as an everyday stroller from very young to pretty recently. You buy the frame with choice of a soft bassinet, car seat adapter (which we didn't get). and standard. It folds to walk stairs (e.g. from the sidewalk and up our stoop) and can fit on airline overhead (and easily in Amtrak). [https://www.stokke.com/USA/en-us/category/strollers/yoyo-strollers](https://www.stokke.com/USA/en-us/category/strollers/yoyo-strollers) (When we bought it, the company was Babyzen, it seems it was since aquired by stokke.) * Since our son was old enough to be on an inflatable, we got him a seat and https://www.flyawaydesigns.com/products/flyaway-kids-bed. DC to BOS is about 6 hours during which we did hour of play, hour of snack, hour of nap, repeat. This may be too much for a 4 month old, and you might be holding him. Are there multiple adults? And a bonus: you definitely want Red Cap

Baby is 18months, we used the yoyo2 from birth with the same setup. It has worked very well for us so far. We’ve taken it on multiple trips, planes etc and it has held up perfectly. Fits overhead, barely takes up room in our car etc. He sleeps well in it when needed too. This was super handy early on, we could go to restaurants and he’d sleep in the newborn pack and it would take up barely any space. Great choice imo

r/BeyondTheBumpUKpushchair / pram confusion - recommendations please

The balance between compact/light and all-terrain is a tough one. I would focus on compact strollers that have good enough suspension and also have a newborn carrycot option. To be honest, the YOYO3 is probably your best bet because it also had the carrycot option and a decent suspension for a travel stroller. If you're not bothered about the compact aspect of it as much and the smooth ride is more important, I would probably recommend the iCandy Peach 7 All Terrain Storm Pushchair & Carrycot. I run a small project helping parents find the prams that fit their needs and budget, so happy to share more if it's helpful!

My boy outgrew the Yo-yo at 3/3.5m and we also bought a full recline stroller. Saved our asses lol

I started with a Stokke Yoyo then got a Cruz and it was the best decision I've made post baby lol. It handles well on footpaths and in shopping centres, decently on grass, I love the big basket (it fits SO much), I like the versatility of having the seat recline or sit up and parent/outward facing options, and it's sturdy but not so big I feel awkward taking it on public transport.

I started out with the Stokke Yoyo3 as my only pram (with the newborn pack) bc we live in a first floor with no lift apartment with not much space and I get public transport a lot. So it did make sense for us on paper but I ended up getting a secondhand Uppababy Cruz about 4 months in. The Yoyo is great and is awesome for getting around on public transport but I kind of wish I'd had the Cruz from the jump. I have to be so much more judicious with what I bring with the Yoyo bc there is very little storage (which makes sense obviously, it's a travel pram!) and if I'm taking a full size nappy bag I have to carry it, whereas with the Cruz I can throw everything in the basket and take bigger items like a picnic blanket. I just didn't factor in how much stuff I needed to lug around and honestly a big part of the reason I got another pram was just so I could put a pack of nappies in the basket which you can't really do with the Yoyo. I also like being able to talk and engage with my baby on walks when she's facing me, which isn't possible with the Yoyo for 6m+ as it only faces out. And the newborn pack was great at first bc she could lie flat and nap, but from about 4m she wanted to look out and look around so I'd constantly have to take her out. Plus it's just not the best for surfaces like grass, pebbles etc. All that said I genuinely do think the Yoyo is great lol, but it has worked much better as a second pram for me. I will say I rarely ever fold down the Cruz, the Yoyo now lives in our boot. If I were having to constantly fold it down into a car boot I might feel differently!

I actually was the opposite, I started off with a travel pram with a bassinet (Yoyo3) and ended up getting the Cruz when my baby was 5mo. I still use the Yoyo but the Cruz is my main one now bc the basket space is so much better and I hate having to carry things.

Haven't used the Vista but the Cruz is definitely very sturdy and pretty smooth.

Having just purchased a travel stroller, we looked at the stokke yoyo, bugaboo butterfly, uppababy minu v3, silvercross jet 5, and joolz aer -- all comply with most overhead cabin sizing. I would recommend also purchasing the stroller case/carrier so it looks more like a standard carry-on. Some airline staff might make you gate-check regardless of size once they see that it is a stroller. Having the cover/case will reduce that issue.

r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAuPrams - did you regret getting a larger, heavy pram for your first baby?

I have the uppababy vista v2 and absolutely love it. Take the bubs and the dog out everyday for a walk and it’s so convenient to manoeuvre plus it’s great for quick grocery runs. Yes it’s a bit hard to take out/put in the car but I have hatch back so it’s a small car. Borrowed a friends uppababy Cruz and it wasn’t as easy to move around. I also got the stokke yoyo3 for travelling which is handy but bubs just looks more comfier in the bigger pram.

We are also doing it again 7 years later! We just picked up adapters and a clek liing infant seat for a Yoyo, and are rolling without a travel system.

Looks like your boot is deeper rather than long - you’ll need to remove the parcel shelf and stand a pram frame upright if it’s around that size. Alternatively, some compact/travel prams come with bassinet add ons to make them newborn compatible including the stokke yo-yo (previous babyzen yo-yo) and the baby jogger city tour 2.
