Once 6+ months, we used the Summer Infant 3D Lite umbrella stroller. They are less than $100 dollars and mine held up through two kids and lots of use. Very lightweight and easy to take anywhere. Enough storage space for diaper bag and essentials.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • If you had $300 for a baby stroller, which one would you buy? ->We got rid of our baby stroller as soon as we could and went with a Summer 3D lite umbrella stroller from then on out. So I would keep that in mind for how many times you might actually use this thing
r/daddit • Stroller talk ->We own two strollers - Uppababy Cruz v2 and Babyzen Yoyo (for travel and smaller trips). Since we’ve had kids, I’ve tried a few umbrella strollers including a really cheap Walmart one (bily?) and the Summer Infant 3D Lite. Hates both of them and sold them on the marketplace as soon as we go the Yoyo.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->Ha! So many. 1. Bumbleride Indie - great all-purpose stroller for walks, jogs, snowy terrain, etc. 2. Mountain Buggy Nano - work horse travel stroller that can technically fit in most overhead bins (though we usually gate check it). Was nice to have when the kids were very small because it can lay flat. Terrible for snow and sand, but survived uneven paving, cobblestones, some mud, etc. I currently use this as a casual every day stroller and leave it in the back of my car. 3. Thule double chariot - for walks and jogs with both kids, especially useful in the winter because the large wheels are good in snow. 4. Summer Infant 3D Lite - bought this on a vacation that we were confident we could do without a stroller. 5. Cheap Red Kite umbrella stroller - another situation where I thought we could get by with a stroller for the big kid and a carrier for the baby, but gave up and bought the cheapest stroller we could find locally. If I could do it again, I'd get one nice jogging stroller (worth it for the maneuverability in rough terrain even if you don't plan on jogging) and then a cheaper, probably second hand umbrella stroller for casual use and short outings.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->We’re almost 3 and we still use our Summer umbrella stroller for short distances like the community park if for some reason they want a stroll and are not in a mood to walk. Our “big” stroller is the UPPAbaby Minu V2 although we only find ourselves using it for vacation like navigating the airport, a large resort, or walkable cities. A few times we’ve used it as a way to get out of somewhere faster like a museum where they walked most of the time but when it was time to go we had them sit with a snack to avoid the fight. Most often we’re okay with the walking because it helps tire out.
r/toddlers • Thoughts on toddler stroller ->I hate to provide an opposing opinion because I know how overwhelming the ftm situation is but here we go: the Uppa stroller is really big and heavy. I put a Summer 3D stroller on our registry and bought an uppa with a rumble seat and bassinet used for 100. In the first 3 months, baby lived in that bassinet and it was handy to be able to pack them inside in the warmth and click them into the stroller outside (October baby). That was also the bassinet we used for sleep. BUT the frame of the uppa didn’t have to go up/down stairs or in/out of the trunk much. And it was the newborn stage so no one was letting me do any lifting. When it was in the trunk of our sedan it took up almost all of it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s lighter and easier than other systems. But as soon as baby was done with the bassinet we only reached for the 3D stroller because it’s more compact and easier to maneuver. I used it for daily walks on sidewalk and indoors. If you plan to do your daily walks on grass or trails this advice isn’t for you. But if you’re staying on even ground or mall walking then you might want to consider something more compact that can temporarily accommodate the car seat in the first months. The bassinet will be even more short lived, but most seats that accommodate a car seat can take a bassinet too
r/BabyBumpsCanada • BEST STROLLER/BASSINET/CARSEAT COMBO FOR 1st TIME MOM IN TORONTO? [on] ->We bought a second hand Uppa and were gifted a Summer Infant 3D something. It’s been 4 years now, and I still own and occasionally use the summer infant (I like to make her walk lol, but otherwise we use a wagon). We resold the uppa as soon as she outgrew the bassinet. It’s too big for daily up/down stairs and in/out of the trunk. The Summer Infant stroller is my daily reminder that pricier and fancier isn’t always better in the baby product world. It’s great for paved surfaces and indoors. Folds up easily and light to carry. It really depends what you’re looking for though cause I wouldn’t take this thing even 50m on a lawn lol. It would be perfect in the airport and at something like Disney, but if you’re travelling to cobblestone streets or outdoor hiking it’s an easy no. Definitely go see these things in person if possible, it’s so difficult to imagine or guess based on reading
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Recommendations: Everyday stroller that is also good for traveling [on] ->I had a 10 year old uppa baby and a summer 3d lite for my first. The uppa was a solid build, but too clunky. The summer infant was very agile. I ended up selling the uppa Baby 2 has a graco modes stroller and that thing is like driving around a grocery cart. Holds stuff, won’t break, but nothing smooth or performative about it. I was shocked to learn how much it cost brand new - I would never pay that. For the cost I’d get something nicer used, or something new that’s cheaper.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [QC] Do I really need the Uppababy travel system? ->I don’t understand why they don’t just make one that has pop out wheels and a handle at least so it can be like wheeling a suitcase behind you. They make attachments that sort of do this but I have friends who have had bad experiences with them (the car seat falls off, etc.)
r/toddlers • Toddler car seat for Ubers that works with a stroller? ->We did this and it was ok. I also bungeed a car seat into a single Summer umbrella stroller for moving around an airport, with baby wearing as a backup for when I was skeptical about stability. Given that this extremely rudimentary method did KIND OF work, it is absolutely remarkable to me that there isn’t a better option. There are some things out there that sort of do the job but they are so wildly expensive I’m not sure if I would even count them.
r/toddlers • Toddler car seat for Ubers that works with a stroller? ->We just had a 3dlite stroller that we'd travel with. It folds up, reclines all the way back, and has a nice shade that comes down to cover almost the whole thing so was great for napping, etc. Used it until the boys were almost 3 so I can't imagine it wouldn't fit your 9 month old.
r/Parenting • My baby is too large for most strollers. What do I do? ->We have a Summer 3Dlite. My sister used it for her 2 kids, and now we've had it for 2 years. I can unfold it one handed ( pop the lock, pick it up, flick it like an umbrella, then there's a little thing you push with your foot). Folding can be done 1 handed, but requires some coordination. It reclines, and it's has a bunch of storage, but it's a little difficult to get stuff in and out. It's very light, which is great, but if you hang a diaper bag on the handle and your kid hops out, it will tip backwards. I got it for free, but if we ever break it, I will gladly buy another. With the money you've saved pick up a Summer folding high chair. It's been fantastic for traveling.
r/NewParents • Best Travel Stroller Under $500 ->2. We had a Thule Urban Glide 2 which we used for daily walks and excursions. We also had a Summer 3D lite (umbrella stroller) for travel (international).
