I hate to provide an opposing opinion because I know how overwhelming the ftm situation is but here we go: the Uppa stroller is really big and heavy. I put a Summer 3D stroller on our registry and bought an uppa with a rumble seat and bassinet used for 100. In the first 3 months, baby lived in that bassinet and it was handy to be able to pack them inside in the warmth and click them into the stroller outside (October baby). That was also the bassinet we used for sleep. BUT the frame of the uppa didn’t have to go up/down stairs or in/out of the trunk much. And it was the newborn stage so no one was letting me do any lifting. When it was in the trunk of our sedan it took up almost all of it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s lighter and easier than other systems. But as soon as baby was done with the bassinet we only reached for the 3D stroller because it’s more compact and easier to maneuver. I used it for daily walks on sidewalk and indoors. If you plan to do your daily walks on grass or trails this advice isn’t for you. But if you’re staying on even ground or mall walking then you might want to consider something more compact that can temporarily accommodate the car seat in the first months. The bassinet will be even more short lived, but most seats that accommodate a car seat can take a bassinet too

We bought a second hand Uppa and were gifted a Summer Infant 3D something. It’s been 4 years now, and I still own and occasionally use the summer infant (I like to make her walk lol, but otherwise we use a wagon). We resold the uppa as soon as she outgrew the bassinet. It’s too big for daily up/down stairs and in/out of the trunk. The Summer Infant stroller is my daily reminder that pricier and fancier isn’t always better in the baby product world. It’s great for paved surfaces and indoors. Folds up easily and light to carry. It really depends what you’re looking for though cause I wouldn’t take this thing even 50m on a lawn lol. It would be perfect in the airport and at something like Disney, but if you’re travelling to cobblestone streets or outdoor hiking it’s an easy no. Definitely go see these things in person if possible, it’s so difficult to imagine or guess based on reading

I don’t understand why they don’t just make one that has pop out wheels and a handle at least so it can be like wheeling a suitcase behind you. They make attachments that sort of do this but I have friends who have had bad experiences with them (the car seat falls off, etc.)

We did this and it was ok. I also bungeed a car seat into a single Summer umbrella stroller for moving around an airport, with baby wearing as a backup for when I was skeptical about stability. Given that this extremely rudimentary method did KIND OF work, it is absolutely remarkable to me that there isn’t a better option. There are some things out there that sort of do the job but they are so wildly expensive I’m not sure if I would even count them.

3 total with a 13 month old: - Bumbleride Indie All-terrain/Jogging stroller (our everyday) - Summer 3DMini Umbrella Stroller (our travel stroller) - MEC Bike Chariot (can be used as a jogging stroller but we only ever use it on our bike)

Truly feel you OP cz I was exasperated with how many we got… but here goes - 4 in total but 2 in active usage: Uppababy Cruz 2 for mat leave and weekends after he started daycare Summer infant Umbrella which we stopped using after 13 months cz he was getting kinda big in it and it was rather rickety Ingenuity 3D quick close which we got to replace the summer infant and became our “daycare stroller” where we felt ok leaving it at the daycare And another graco which was our original daycare stroller and tires gave out on us

You’re not the only one! I think those of us getting the cheaper items or getting things second hand tend to be a lot quieter about it. I love my $70 umbrella stroller (although I couldn’t use it till baby was 6 months)! I got my bulky stroller for the first 6 months from my sister-in-law

Yeah. Another person sharing regret in buying the vista here. I got it at a great discount ( December sales of around 200 plus the 15% registry completion discount ) put it at an incredible price so I had to get it as the nuna was turning out much more expensive . But now it’s so bulky it hardly fits jn the car. I’m pregnant and dread handling it so i just carry the summer mini travel stroller. I don’t even feel like converting it and just think I’ll get a side by side instead of conversion kit. I did love the bassinet though.
