3 total with a 13 month old: - Bumbleride Indie All-terrain/Jogging stroller (our everyday) - Summer 3DMini Umbrella Stroller (our travel stroller) - MEC Bike Chariot (can be used as a jogging stroller but we only ever use it on our bike)

r/BabyBumpsDon’t get the uppababy vista stroller if you plan on using it for two
8 months ago

Yeah. Another person sharing regret in buying the vista here. I got it at a great discount ( December sales of around 200 plus the 15% registry completion discount ) put it at an incredible price so I had to get it as the nuna was turning out much more expensive . But now it’s so bulky it hardly fits jn the car. I’m pregnant and dread handling it so i just carry the summer mini travel stroller. I don’t even feel like converting it and just think I’ll get a side by side instead of conversion kit. I did love the bassinet though.

r/NewParentsTravel stroller? Is it a need or just a hype?

This! We started traveling with an umbrella stroller at ~6 mo old. She’s now over 2 and we still use it.  Gate check it- it’s nice to have a place to set baby while at the airport. We have the summer infant one and it’s fantastic!

We’re almost 3 and we still use our Summer umbrella stroller for short distances like the community park if for some reason they want a stroll and are not in a mood to walk. Our “big” stroller is the UPPAbaby Minu V2 although we only find ourselves using it for vacation like navigating the airport, a large resort, or walkable cities. A few times we’ve used it as a way to get out of somewhere faster like a museum where they walked most of the time but when it was time to go we had them sit with a snack to avoid the fight. Most often we’re okay with the walking because it helps tire out.

r/toddlersToddler car seat for Ubers that works with a stroller?

I don’t understand why they don’t just make one that has pop out wheels and a handle at least so it can be like wheeling a suitcase behind you. They make attachments that sort of do this but I have friends who have had bad experiences with them (the car seat falls off, etc.)

We did this and it was ok. I also bungeed a car seat into a single Summer umbrella stroller for moving around an airport, with baby wearing as a backup for when I was skeptical about stability. Given that this extremely rudimentary method did KIND OF work, it is absolutely remarkable to me that there isn’t a better option. There are some things out there that sort of do the job but they are so wildly expensive I’m not sure if I would even count them.

One child and I have five strollers. Including the Nuna Mixx. The entire Nuna travel system retails for over $900. Guess which one my little lady likes? The $30 Summer umbrella stroller my husband pushes her around in. Cut out the noise and go with what works best for your family.

Truly feel you OP cz I was exasperated with how many we got… but here goes - 4 in total but 2 in active usage: Uppababy Cruz 2 for mat leave and weekends after he started daycare Summer infant Umbrella which we stopped using after 13 months cz he was getting kinda big in it and it was rather rickety Ingenuity 3D quick close which we got to replace the summer infant and became our “daycare stroller” where we felt ok leaving it at the daycare And another graco which was our original daycare stroller and tires gave out on us

r/BuyItForLife#1 baby on the way. Which stroller would you recommend for a newborn that can ideally be used until age 3?

I second this advice! We ended up getting a frame that was compatible with our infant car seat (Chicco key fit caddy), then a decent, lightweight umbrella stroller (summer infant). Both held up great for both kids, and I sold them when no longer needed. I think it’s definitely worth looking for second hand strollers! We did get a double stroller when #2 was born, but it was pretty heavy, and we didn’t end up using it as much as I anticipated. It worked out that our kids had enough of an age gap that we didn’t need one for the older child for terribly long anyway.

r/BabyBumpsBest car seat stroller combo, what should I actually look for when choosing one?

Where you live matters! When our baby was born, we lived out in the countryside, with no walking access to anything. When he was nearly 18months old we moved back to a city and when he was almost two we made it to suburbs. We ended up using a cheap graco bucket seat and the graco snap-n-go bucket seat frame for the first few months which worked great since it was winter and very cold! We got a like baby car seat jacket cover thing for getting him and out of the stroller. The only thing is that boy do they get heavy in those bucket seats QUICKLY. We converted out of the bucket seat pretty fast because he was hating car rides and so we thought he might like to sit up a little bit more. Once we got into the convertible car seat around 6ish months, we just used a baby carrier primarily, even though we bought a cheap Summer Infant Umbrella stroller. When we moved to the city - I started walking all day, every day to do errands - including laundry. I bought a compact, super lighteright travel stroller (Strollee Brand) that could attach a second stroller in a line or a stroller-like shopping cart. It worked well but after 4 months of hard use on the city streets, it was already starting to show some wear. I loved the design but it was clear we were asking a lot of it. We eventually planned to move again (baby is nearly 2) and borrowed a neighbors old Vista Cruz after I'd sold my stoller and that thing is a beast. SO nice to drive on the city sidewalks but it's super heavy and annoying to lift, but I could fit a whole ikea bag of dirty laundry in the basket and since it rides so smooth, the weight wasn't a problem. We are now out with my parents in the suburbs and bought a super cheap used Safety First (I think?) jogging stroller. In terms of quality - it's pretty janky and hard to use. I've used it a handful of times but mostly, he likes to walk around now and/or be carried and I can't be bothered with the stroller. We keep it unfolded and open in the garage. We are planning to move back out of the burbs soon and we are not planning to purchase another stroller I apologize for the novel but I found these write ups super helpful when I was trying to make my stroller decisions! Where you live matters and what you are doing day-to-day matters but something I didn't anticipate was how much we would be a baby wearing family and if I were to do it again (and we might have another sometimes in the near future) - I would probably skip the stroller entirely, get a convertible car seat, use baby carriers until we saw what our life would be like day-to-day with two kids.
