I just had an accident today with my children on a Thule Chariot Cross 2 Double (attached to my bycicle). An idiot on another bycicle coming on speed didn't realized we stopped in the crossing line because we had to cross the avenue, he hit the stroller at speed, the impact was so strong it turned the stroller upside down. People rushed to help. My children (4 and 2) were attached in the seat belt, they were upside down just confused and laughing about what happened. Also the stroller was intact, I was already a Thule fan, but the way how it protected my kids from that idiot made me extra fan. Go for it, just pay the price.
r/NewParents • Thule stroller - big price fluctuations and possible sales? ->I over researched strollers haaaaaard. Like obsessively. I overthought it big time. Ended up with a Uppababy Cruz V2 (didn’t want a double), and thought it would be a good all around stroller since it has the option for front/rear facing, car seat attachment, and basssinet. Seemed like this would cover all the bases. However, our neighbourhood has no, or not well maintained sidewalks. As a newborn in the bassinet I found she bounced around too much. So I mostly would drive places with really smooth paths to walk (not convenient). Even regular sidewalk bumps freaked me out when she was tiny. We ended up buying a Thule Chariot Cross to use skiiing and biking in the future. But we also bought the infant sling and actually use this as our main stroller in the neighbourhood. I only use the Cruz in stores mostly, and can’t imagine trying to push it on snow. Now a chariot would suck if you need to manage stairs (they’re heavy). But it’s worth considering another type of all terrain stroller like a Thule Urban Glide if your neighbourhood is at all similar. Also, I’m fairly tall, 5’9”. And if I walk my normal pace I kick the basket on the Cruz, which is super annoying. Overall I don’t regret the choice, since we were going to end up with two strollers anyway
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Overwhelmed with types of strollers [on] ->We have two, LO is five weeks, live rurally. The Bugaboo Fox5 Renew (bassinet mode) is for normal day to day use (lives in the car), and a Chariot Cross for eventual skiing/snowshoeing/biking/jogging/beach trips (lives in the garage). We bought the infant sling so it can be used now for strolling, and intend to use it for getting down our muddy/snowy driveway in the winter (big jogging wheel plus totally enclosed space equals win lol). It’ll also be for LO to have a safe, shaded space around the farm, in addition to the other activities once he’s old enough to use it for those things safely. LO is super comfortable in the sling, and usually goes right to sleep. I love love the Bugaboo, and so far it’s handling the fall mud season fine, but I don’t want to use it for that too often, as it lives in the car (it’s hard enough keeping mud out of the car as it is!. I also wear LO in a woven wrap a lot of the time, if you’re babywearing, you may find your stroller needs change 😊
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->I have owned both a single and double Chariot, and still run with the single. I love them. Hands down, best child related purchase(s) I've ever made.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Thule Chariot or Jogging Stroller (or both?) [SK] ->A 5.5 yr and 4 yr old with one more on the way. - City Select with 2 seats is my full stroller/all terrain - Thule Chariot 2 bike stroller/also a hiking stroller - Valco Duo Snap for side by side stroller - GB pockit that's a bit wonky so lives at grandparents as a spare - Babyzen Yoyo got as second hand travel stroller I am planning to use mainly for my new one - All purpose wagon that never intended to be a stroller but they all pile in
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->Ha! So many. 1. Bumbleride Indie - great all-purpose stroller for walks, jogs, snowy terrain, etc. 2. Mountain Buggy Nano - work horse travel stroller that can technically fit in most overhead bins (though we usually gate check it). Was nice to have when the kids were very small because it can lay flat. Terrible for snow and sand, but survived uneven paving, cobblestones, some mud, etc. I currently use this as a casual every day stroller and leave it in the back of my car. 3. Thule double chariot - for walks and jogs with both kids, especially useful in the winter because the large wheels are good in snow. 4. Summer Infant 3D Lite - bought this on a vacation that we were confident we could do without a stroller. 5. Cheap Red Kite umbrella stroller - another situation where I thought we could get by with a stroller for the big kid and a carrier for the baby, but gave up and bought the cheapest stroller we could find locally. If I could do it again, I'd get one nice jogging stroller (worth it for the maneuverability in rough terrain even if you don't plan on jogging) and then a cheaper, probably second hand umbrella stroller for casual use and short outings.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->I love my thule chariot double stroller with infant insert. It doesn't work for carseats but it's GREAT for 2 under 2. My toddler hangs out in there longer than our regular stroller bc it feels like a little club house.. it's lighter than the vista, has nice storage attached..it handles gravel trails and can be a jogging stroller/ bike attachment or cross country ski attachment. For grocery runs I'd just get a cheap double off marketplace that can hold a chico
r/beyondthebump • Going crazy trying to find a single-to-double stroller! ->And yes, as other have mentioned: a running stroller (we have the Thule Chariot).
r/trailrunning • Couples with kids where both parents are runners ->I said I would never have more than one and we ended up with 5… we have the Ridge Jogger, it was too big to travel so got the Minu for our trunk. Then got a chariot for the bike which came with a jogging wheel. Then a second baby came along so we got a double chariot. Purchased a wagon as well but felt the chariot served the purposes so sold it. So we still have 4 🫣.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->I have/had: Baby Jogger City Mini GT (hated, disintegrated after 18 months, will never recommend ever), replaced with Uppababy Vista (love it, it’s my workhorse, wish I’d bought it from the beginning), then had a Summer Infant 3D lite for an umbrella (hated, eventually sold), replaced with an Uppababy Minu V2 (loved it, replaced with V3 which I got specifically for the airplane overhead option, and in some ways slightly prefer the V2), and a Thule Chariot double (amazing for all the biking we do). Got the Vista when my son was 18 months old and he’s now 7.5 lol
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->We mostly bike, but our Chariot has thousands of km's on it over the last 6 and a bit years, and is in fantastic shape still. We also got a double right off the bat, even though we didn't know if we were going to have a second or not, but the extra room and storage is awesome. Haven't done much running with it at this point, but probably will here shortly as I just picked up running again in the last couple months and want to get outside now that it's warming up
