Tandem for the win (I have the gazelle and it is the workhorse). Side by side doesn't really work in an urban city. It is more like a FU to pedestrians on the sidewalk as you literally block it. I also have a Thule chariot and veer which takes up as much space as a side by side. Maybe the wagon XL is a tiny bit more narrower. It is unwieldy to navigate and good luck if you go to small shops because you can't navigate through the aisles.
r/parentsofmultiples • Has anyone bought a tandem stroller but later regretted not getting a side-by-side instead? ->I have owned both a single and double Chariot, and still run with the single. I love them. Hands down, best child related purchase(s) I've ever made.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Thule Chariot or Jogging Stroller (or both?)
r/runningfr • Ma bigorexie me pourrit la vie.
r/runningfr • Ma bigorexie me pourrit la vie. ->We had a Nuna that was good, but then I rented a Bob jogger on vacation and fell in love with it. I ended up buying a Thule Jogger which is going strong with kid number 2, but the Bob is a great choice too. Joggers are just better with different terrain, hop curbs easy, and are simple. The Nuna was great if you're on a smooth sidewalk or something and had too many plastic parts
r/BuyItForLife • Stroller Recommendations ->I had a single for my first and now have an amazing double Thule chariot for the two of them. There was a lot of cheaper second hand stuff on fb market place. I did not plan ahead in that one, and we got the double stroller once we had two kids.
r/beyondthebump • Does anyone regret not getting a single to double stroller? ->3, a basinette, a travel bugaboo & a thule jogger. don’t use the basinette anymore currently.
r/Mommit • How many strollers do you have? ->Lots of good suggestions here! If I may, here are things I *regretted* buying for newborns. You can always buy these things IF you find the need for them, but i spent a lot of money buying ahead of time to find out I never used them or could’ve used something else. For feeding: - nipple cream (never used, only did breastmilk and air dry) - breast pads (maybe useful to have 2-3 reusable sets for the first few weeks but otherwise never used again) - special bf shirts or dresses (just wore my normal clothes) - special bottle sterilizer ( I ended up using this bc I donate milk to preemies and they want me to, but otherwise wasn’t really needed unless you’re pumping in the newborn phase) - bottle warmer (just run under hot water and spin) - nursing cover (just another thing to carry around, I only used muslin blankets) - boppy (personally found super uncomfortable and just use a pillow) - lots of bottles (wait to see what baby likes first!) For diapering: - NB diapers (wait to see how big baby is, then order!) - expensive baby changing mat (literally any would suffice) - wipe warmer (he’s fine with his cold wipes haha) - special diaper cream (we use aquaphor) We used cloth diapers as soon as baby was a few weeks old so not sure what else. We used a nice garbage can with a lid and reusable wet bag to collect diapers. For bath time: - special infant seat (used when baby got older, but for nb stage we just sponge bathed or one of us held baby bc he was so uncomfortable) - baby towels (we just dried with little burp cloths) - any special baby lotion (I use Pipette for myself and for baby) Baby clothes: - pants/shirts in nb, 0-3 sizes (baby wore exclusively onesies and footie pajamas) Baby items: - stroller (honestly we never use ours bc I almost exclusively babywear; if I could go back I’d probably get one cheap off marketplace instead of my Thule jogger) - baby play mat, especially the lovevery one (just use blanket) - any special baby furniture (we just used our own) Here’s a list of we have used for my second: For feeding: - burp cloths (lots, but nothing special) - 2 glass bottles and bottle brush - pump and pump parts and breastmilk bags (get through insurance!!! Don’t spend your own money on them!) - syringe for vitamin d drops - pumping or nursing bras For diapering: - size one diapers and wipes - cloth diapers - simple foldable mat - wet bags - aquaphor (phenomenal stuff, works on rashes, nipples, skin, lips, etc etc) For bathing: - burp/towel cloths - simple baby wash (we only use on specific areas) For clothes: - onesies short and long sleeve - footie pajamas - sweater - hat - socks (for under footies when it’s cold) Baby items: - baby carriers for baby wearing - a few black and white cards or small toys - bassinet - bouncer ? TBD, as he doesn’t like it - muslin blankets - diaper bag with essentials - pacifiers (bought 2 brands, he liked 1, so we went with that one) Baby toiletries: - electric nail trimmer - thermometer - syringe If I could go back, I’d also get most things from buying nothing groups or FB marketplace. Most baby items are only used for 0-2 years so they’re in good condition! And people always get surplus items at showers or as gifts so a lot of items are in new or like new condition. Hope this helps.
r/beyondthebump • List of things to buy in first 3 months ->A 5.5 yr and 4 yr old with one more on the way. - City Select with 2 seats is my full stroller/all terrain - Thule Chariot 2 bike stroller/also a hiking stroller - Valco Duo Snap for side by side stroller - GB pockit that's a bit wonky so lives at grandparents as a spare - Babyzen Yoyo got as second hand travel stroller I am planning to use mainly for my new one - All purpose wagon that never intended to be a stroller but they all pile in
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->They honestly both have their merits. I have the uppababy vista, the Thule urban glide (side x side), and Thule chariot (side x side). I use the Thules for running and dog walks, but the main problem I'm having with side x side right now is just the amount of stroller drama (they are 12 months but this has been going on for a few months)..this includes biting, toy stealing, etc etc. The uppababy is good for the rare city outing (especially as they are still in their infant seats so they click right in), but I find it more difficult to steer, it is LONG (sorry door frames), and it has no breaks which I find incredibly useful living in a very hilly area!
r/parentsofmultiples • Has anyone bought a tandem stroller but later regretted not getting a side-by-side instead? ->Ha! So many. 1. Bumbleride Indie - great all-purpose stroller for walks, jogs, snowy terrain, etc. 2. Mountain Buggy Nano - work horse travel stroller that can technically fit in most overhead bins (though we usually gate check it). Was nice to have when the kids were very small because it can lay flat. Terrible for snow and sand, but survived uneven paving, cobblestones, some mud, etc. I currently use this as a casual every day stroller and leave it in the back of my car. 3. Thule double chariot - for walks and jogs with both kids, especially useful in the winter because the large wheels are good in snow. 4. Summer Infant 3D Lite - bought this on a vacation that we were confident we could do without a stroller. 5. Cheap Red Kite umbrella stroller - another situation where I thought we could get by with a stroller for the big kid and a carrier for the baby, but gave up and bought the cheapest stroller we could find locally. If I could do it again, I'd get one nice jogging stroller (worth it for the maneuverability in rough terrain even if you don't plan on jogging) and then a cheaper, probably second hand umbrella stroller for casual use and short outings.
