I bought this stroller for a trip to Vancouver and it was amazing. It did well in the rain and on the plane. Like the others have said, it's best as a fairer weather stroller. It doesn't do great in the snow. I also didn't love it on gravel trails, but I also have the thule urban glide and that thing is pretty smooth in bumpier terrain so I think I was a bit spoiled in that regard. Baby didn't mind it though! I've used it lots for running into stores and keep it in my car all the time. I love it if we're staying on smoother terrain!
I feel like Chico Key fit is the best early car seat. We got extra bases free from friends who also used the car seat. We bought the Thule Shine on sale — I feel like Thule offers good value compared to pricey brands like Uppababy or cheap strollers like Chico, Graco. BabyJogger also seems like good value. We bought the Thule bassinet attachment and car seat adapter for Chico. Bassinet was nice but def optional and short lived. Def recommend car seat adapter. Here’s said stroller on sale https://goodbuygear.com/products/thule-shine-stroller-2023-aluminum-mallard-green-1 We borrowed a Halo bassinet from friend that worked well for the first 6 months and found a deal on a crib we liked — I think DaVinci baby or babyletto. I’d say under $500 is more than enough for a crib — Pottery Barn or the like charge excessive amounts
I have this!! Its more of a fair weather stroller and mostly fine for sidewalk walking but as soon as theres a little water it’s incredibly difficult to push and turn. I ended up buying a full size stroller and used this as a travel stroller which has been fine. I would have preferred something smaller and easier to open for traveling (had a hell of a time when I travelled solo with my baby trying to open this) but it worked well enough that I can’t justify totally replacing it. Its a totally acceptable stroller for the price and it was my main for 5 months of daily use…I’m just spoiled now with my bugaboo
Oh I wanted to add I found it’s not a one hand push! If you’re traveling solo definitely something to keep in mind
Thule Shine! Compact, nice small fold for storage and you can just get an adaptor for whatever car seat you want.
I have it! It's a great little stroller for city walking, riding transit, going in stores, throwing in the trunk, bringing on an airplane etc. We used it exclusively every day for about 18 months (you do need an insert for newborns) and it was pretty good but that was through a mild/non snowy winter. Ended up buying a second hand Bumbleride Indie to get us through subsequent winters because we needed the big air tires. The air tires offer a much smoother ride but that stroller is heavier/clunkier to carry up and down the stairs and the fold isn't quite as compact for storage. Depending on your lifestyle of course, it's very hard to find a holy grail stroller that fits all your needs. We went compact and ended up adding a full size all terrain but I know people that started with a full size all terrain and ended up adding something smaller. If I were to do it all again I would probably get the Bumbleride Era (four wheeled so you can reverse the seat) then something inexpensive and compact for travel/putting in the car/taking to stores etc.
Fully agree with the urban glide. We have one as our primary stroller, used the bassinet attachment from birth and begun running with it once we put the standard seat in. I didn’t feel comfortable running with the bassinet as there’s no way of strapping the baby in. However, have been running since 3 months age and did runs up to 20km on a good path and my baby loves it and falls asleep straight away. We purchased a Thule shine for 70% off as our shopping one and it’s been great also.
I have a Swedish Thule in Hungary. I feel like I have the Volvo of strollers.
