r/2under2Do we really NEED a double stroller?

Agreed! Maybe walking is your child's preference, but it will not always be yours! My oldest daughter is 2.5 and even still if she wants to walk it is slow as mud trying to get from place to place. Toddlers dilly dally and if you need to get some place fast you will want the option to contain them. As far as what I'd recommend as someone who sees a LOT of double strollers: Side by side: Zoe Twin, Bombi Bebee Twin, or Valco Trend Duo or Valco Slim Twin (more of a splurge) For in-line strollers: Mockingbird, Thule Sleek (more of a splurge) I also personally haven't tested these yet but the MomCozy stroller and the new Gladly Grasshopper look really versatile! By the way, I work at GoodBuy Gear where we sell open box and secondhand strollers, and I'm writing from this account. Holler with any other questions!

Don’t know why this is (edit, was) downvoted. We did 3 mile daily daycare/preschool commutes with a Thule Sleek double stroller, plus daily walks and errands, on rough urban sidewalks. The beast made it 5 years and then literally came apart. Maybe something less expensive could have made it that long, but with that much walking on rough surfaces, ergonomics and smoothness becomes more important. We also have a cheap Summer Baby stroller and it’s nice for what it is, but as a daily workhorse, not great.

We have the thule sleek that works well in almost anything. We did get the Osprey Poco Plus backpack and my daughter loves that. We also have a couple of baby carriers that we used.

I bought the Thule Sleek with all of the extra seats/bassine, etc., thankfully second hand because my goodness that all would have cost me a fortune. I had essentially the same experience. It sounds like they are designed almost identically. I didn't mind the stroller as a single stroller, minus the fact that it took up a ton of trunk space. It was actually really nice and we have gotten a ton of use out of it. I was so excited to finally use it as a double stroller when our second was born. Baby hated the bassinet so every time we went for a walk I ended up pushing the massive double stroller and carrying baby anyway. And side note... There aren't any straps in the bassinet. So what is preventing your newborn from getting flopped around when you hit a bump or go up a hill? Seems sketchy lol. We bought the infant car seat adapter and that worked great for us when we took a trip. Toddler sat in the smaller companion/lower seat and didn't seem to notice. The bassinet has come in handy while traveling because I used it in place of bringing a pack and play, even if we never use it on the stroller. Once my baby was 6 months old and we started using the two seats together, that's when I got especially frustrated. I cannot believe they designed it so the larger seat always has to be on top while the younger child needs to be at the bottom/farther away from the parent. It is designed to only face both seats to the front or both seats to the back. In neither configuration can I see my younger baby. I was, however, able to create my own configuration where the lower/front seat faces back and the top/upper seat faces forward. This will only work while my baby is smaller because there isn't much space as toddler's feet are resting on the baby's lap bar thingy. But for the time being, it works great. I can see baby, and he can see sibling and mommy. I wonder if you could do something like that with your seats. https://preview.redd.it/zyolkrhqrqbf1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=f7c9b97a7ac56be8df8d04268797e33130a101a1

r/BuyingforbabyDouble stroller with bassinet + stand recs? Is two strollers insane?

I have the Vista, which was my main stroller with my first (20 month gap), and got a double Thule to run with after my second was born. They’re great strollers and serve different purposes. If you’ve got the resources and space, get both. I’m happy I’ve got both.

It’s fine! The Thule is way more maneuverable, but the Vista is so much easier to get in/out of the car and is super useful for errands. I really liked it when youngest was just born because I could easily remove the second seat for walks with the baby. The toddler is happy with it, though I need to switch his rumble seat with the baby’s regular seat because he’s getting too tall. Resisting because change is hard! And a bonus with the Vista is that it’s helpful to separate them when the toddler gets handsy. The Vista isn’t perfect, but I don’t think anything is, really. It does check nearly all of your boxes, as it did for me. Ultimately, it’s been fantastic, particularly alongside the double Thule.

r/2under2Best Double Strollers??

Double Thule stroller! We live in a place with lots of hills, and this one has a hand break that helps me slow down/control down hills whereas the BOB does not. That was a deal breaker for us to buy the Thule. We have a 2 year old and a 6 week old. We purchased the infant insert from Amazon with the registry discount so our newborn can ride in it without spending hundreds of dollars on a bassinet. Highly recommend!

Your kids weight a fair bit more. I, a slow woman didn’t feel much difference pushing our double Thule stroller when the twins were 6ish months old on flat pavement. Now that they are 1.5years old it dramatically slows me down to push them.
