Seconding this! I got an Uppababy Cruz V1 that has all sorts of extras with it for like $120, the thing looks brand new and the very sweet woman I bought it from had used it with two kids!
r/BabyBumps • What (realistically priced) strollers are good these days? ->I highly recommend looking for second hand options. We got an UppaBaby Cruz V1 in 2022 for $200 on Facebook marketplace. Tag says it was made in 2018 and the thing is a tank. It came with the bassinet and I bought a new UppaBaby car seat to go with it. We are expecting baby 2 now and will have a 27-month age gap. I plan on buying the new UppaBaby Minu Duo to use with both kids. I personally would not want the Vista due to its size. I prefer side-by-side for double strollers and am glad to have a lightweight option for both everyday use and travel. I got a Baby Jogger City Tour 2 for 60% off to use as a smaller travel stroller with my firstborn. It is more lightweight and compact compared to the UB Cruz. When we travel, either by plane or super packed car, it is the only stroller we bring. However, the UB is sooo much nicer. You really do get what you pay for.
r/BabyBumps • Confused by strollers, what do you recommend? ->Oh, I don’t know if they made small changes between the different versions. Mine was made in 2018. All I know is it was built to last and is still serving my family well.
r/BabyBumps • Confused by strollers, what do you recommend? ->The Minu V3 has a near flat recline and is newborn ready. I gave birth to my second baby recently and have the Minu Duo with the same infant design. I have really loved it with my newborn. I used the bassinet and Cruz with my firstborn and really have no preference between the two designs. But there is a huge weight and fold difference between the Minu V2/3 and Cruz and that may be a bigger deciding factor.
r/BabyBumps • Stroller What features are actually worth it? ->There are so many options, too many! If you know you’re going to travel by plane, perhaps go ahead and get a travel stroller that you can use with an infant car seat. You’ll discover your preferences and what you really need once baby is here. Highly recommend Uppababy Minu V3 and a compatible infant car seat. We bought our Uppababy Cruz V1 (including the bassinet) on FBMP for $200 in 2022 when I was pregnant with baby #1. I actually preferred baby wearing, so we really only used the stroller for those early doctor appointments and then later when he got too big to carry. I really love the Cruz, but definitely glad we got it second hand given that I mostly used the baby carrier. We did end up with a travel stroller from Baby Jogger that I got on deep discount during their Friends and Family sale (someone shared the code on Reddit). It was much better for flying and road trips than the Cruz, but you can definitely tell the difference in quality. Baby #2 is now 5 months old and we have the Uppababy Minu Duo stroller. I prefer a side by side double stroller. I still use the Cruz when I go out with just one kiddo, but that doesn’t happen very often.
r/BabyBumps • Strollers? Single to double, single, or travel? ->100% yes. I bought my Uppababy Cruz V1 on Facebook marketplace for my first baby. It was made in 2018 and is in great shape after at least 3 babies. I purchased Minu Duo this year before having baby 2. They are both so much nicer, smoother, and better than my travel Babyjogger City Tour. Uppababy strollers are tanks and last. Check out used ones for sale near you.
r/BabyBumps • Is there really that big a difference between higher end brands e.g. Uppababy vs middle brands e.g. Graco? Looking at strollers. ->I didn’t want to spend a ton on strollers either. I went with the used stroller, new car seat situation. No regrets. I got an Uppababy Cruz V1 and a ton of accessories, including the bassinet, for $200. It was manufactured in 2018 and my first was born in 2023. The stroller is a tank and is still in great condition. I loved babywearing and did that much of his first year. I would have hated paying full price for the stroller. I did buy a travel stroller for 55% off Black Friday sale to make travel easier. I got the Baby Jogger City Tour. It is so much better to fly with or even do a long car trip in because it folds down so small. However, I can tell the Uppababy is just so much nicer. It’s considered a high end brand for a reason. I’m pregnant with baby 2. I’m going to buy the new Uppababy Minu Duo double stroller. My 2yo has developmental delays and is not a strong walker. I know I will need a double with my 27m age gap. That’s the only stroller I will have paid full price for. Your fourth floor walk up definitely makes me think a lightweight stroller would suit your needs best. When I researched travel strollers, I kept reading reviews that the Uppababy Minu was highly rated for daily use. I just couldn’t pass up on the Baby Jogger deal. They just launched the V3, so I think V2 is on sale if you can’t find a good used one. I promise I’m not employed by them. I just don’t have personal experience with other stroller brands.
r/BabyBumps • Strollers (please let me here your thoughts on NUNA, Uppa and Bugaboo I am overwhelmed with anxiety) ->The absolutely perfect baby gear for all scenarios does not exist. I would advise looking on Facebook marketplace to find items secondhand if you want to purchase multiple strollers. You don’t need to get everything before the baby comes. Most strollers (especially jogging strollers) cannot be used until baby is 3-6 months old. You may want to use the Doona at first while you figure out what is important to you. Your baby will likely outgrow the infant car seat by age one. So you can use the Doina for travel during this short-lived time. You will then travel with a convertible car seat which does not click into any stroller. I recommend taking a look at the Uppababy Minu V3. It has a bassinet mode built in and can have a car seat click in (only certain models). It also folds up small enough to go in the airplane overhead compartment. We got a used Uppababy Cruz V1 on FBMP. I used it a lot in the early baby days with the car seat. I had the bassinet, but ended up babywearing most often. I especially preferred babywearing when we went to events and other crowded spaces. So much easier than making our way with a stroller. I started using the stroller more in the toddler days as my son has global delays and was a late walker. I got a Baby Jogger City Tour during Black Friday sale to use as our travel stroller. Neither stroller is perfect, but both have been great to have for different reasons and uses. I just gave birth to our daughter and got the Uppababy Minu Duo stroller so I can take both kiddos out and about.
r/BabyBumps • Am I being naive in wanting an absolute UNICORN of a stroller? Or do I just need to accept that I actually need three strollers? ->We have 2 strollers—A 2015 Uppababy Cruz v1 and a Ergobaby Metro stroller. We use the Uppababy when we walk around the neighborhood and to the grocery story. It’s just too big and cumbersome in my car trunk to be taking it everywhere. We got the Ergobaby as our travel stroller for vacation, but realized we like using it within the urban setting as it’s so compact.
r/NewParents • Who else has 2 or more strollers and one kid? Are my stroller choices justified? ->We have an uppababy as our everyday, a jogging stroller that we use for rougher terrain (mostly the beach) and my parents keep an umbrella stroller at their house. We also use the jogging stroller for travel because most places that we’ve travelled have a beach.
r/NewParents • Who else has 2 or more strollers and one kid? Are my stroller choices justified? ->We have 3-ish! Ish because one of them is a Doona, which is only used for stroller purposes when running errands or needing to go baseless (for travel or riding in someone else’s car). One UppaBaby as our every day stroller because it’s definitely a tank, and a Nuna TRVL LX for traveling.
r/NewParents • Who else has 2 or more strollers and one kid? Are my stroller choices justified? ->Yes! It is probably the baby item I use the most. We use it for all outings because I don't like keeping the baby in her car seat any longer than the actual car ride if possible. At home, we keep it in our living room and it is where she sleeps for daytime naps. We also bring it outside for her to nap with us while we do yardwork. I got mine used on Facebook marketplace. There is a lot of high quality stuff for sale very cheap, at least in my area. We got an older model uppababy cruz with the bassinet for $250. A benefit of buying used is that you can resell it for about the same price you paid once you don't need it anymore.
r/BabyBumps • Is a stroller bassinet worth it? ->Similar situation, got a Cruz and loved it. Fit in the trunk, super sturdy for walks. Easily adds on accessories for more kiddos of when toddler aged. Highly recommend. Also, great customer service. 4 years later, still in use and working great.
r/Buyingforbaby • Stroller features for suburban lifestyle? ->I have both the Vista and the Cruz. Both are really good. Really depends on if you think you want more kids at some point.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Pram Recommendations ->I have always travelled with a vista an a Cruz. They aren’t too bad to travel with and you can just put it in a travel bag and gate check it. With that said, I recently got the Skip3 because I am flying long haul solo with 4 kids and I love it. It’s also not ridiculously expensive and has a 20% off right now. Tips for travel - plenty of food for baby and a few toys they like, a portable changing mat and 2 change of clothes. It’s not an easy flight going there but it’s manageable. Good luck!
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Trip to US ->100% recommend. We have the Vista and the Cruz and love both. Have taken them overseas - handled rough cobblestones roads, grass and going off road totally fine.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Uppababy Cruz v2 reviews ->I have 3. Uppababy Cruz is my everyday stroller, a BOB from fb marketplace is my winter/snow stroller, Mountain Buggy Nano is my travel stroller (has gone all over Canada, US, China, and Portugal). Love all three.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->Personally i don't think there is a stroller that will fit both 1 and 2. Usually strollers that are good in snow will be jogging strollers or at least strollers with larger wheels. Even uppababy vista will get stuck in the snow and slush. Personally I have an everyday stroller that's easy to fold (in my case I have a Cruz) and a secondary stroller for winter (i bought a BOB on marketplace for $100).
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Stroller Recommendations [ON] ->Also a Toronto mom and I'm 5'3. I have an Uppababy Cruz, and it's perfect. It's narrow and fits through all the doors, easy to take on the TTC (subways and streetcars), it has a huge under seat basket for grocery shopping. It's not an one-hand fold but it folds easily and is compact enough to not take up the entire trunk if you had to drive somewhere or even for Uber rides. However, it is not good enough for winter when there's lots of snow and slush on the sidewalk so for that I had a second stroller that's a jogging stroller that I got on fb marketplace. The Cruz is a perfect urban everyday stroller outside of those couple months in winter.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Advice on stroller & travel system for short small mom [on] ->Uppababy Cruz was what I had when I thought I only wanted one child. It's light compared to others, it folds up fairly compact and didn't take up all the trunk space in the car. It's narrow and fits through all the doors and is very easy to take on public transit. It has a huge under seat basket that's easy to reach into for shopping. The seat has a nice and big canopy with an inside UV extension that you can pull down or fold in, when it's pulled down it pretty much covers the entire seat and baby is perfectly shaded. I had an infant insert and my daughter had used it from about a week old. Now 9 years later after my first I'm pregnant with my second and plan to use the same Cruz I had with my first. It still works perfectly, we might get new replacement wheels but everything else has held up extremely well. It's a great stroller.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • What stroller to get ? [on] ->With my first we got the uppababy Cruz and I love this stroller. Many of my friends got the vista, but find it is harder to manoeuvre to run errands (and heavier to lift in and out of the vehicle and takes more space). I got the chicco keyfit 30 for the seat, and my 99%ile height baby had basically outgrown it by 6 months anyway.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • What travel system to buy? Expecting a baby in October [ON] ->I’m on east coast and I didn’t use my stroller outside until they were 12+ weeks… which was spring! It’s not a hearty winter stroller though
r/BabyBumpsCanada • What travel system to buy? Expecting a baby in October [ON] ->Agree with all this! I just used my Cruz to navigate some tight doorways at a recent doctor appt (older building) and anything bigger would have been a real challenge!
r/BabyBumpsCanada • What stroller to get ? [on] ->Strollers you get what you pay for (uppababy). Personally I don’t think the mesa is worth it though. It seems uncomfortable and if you have a long baby (both of mine were 99% height), they are grown out of it by 6 months old. The stroller is a real gem. Got it because I can afford it, definitely the item to splurge on if you can! (Even second hand, they seem to keep their value)
