And if you get the Valco Baby Twin Slim, its only 26 inches wide.
One thing I would say is you may hear a lot of hype about the vista, but we really disliked it and ended up selling it on, it was a huge waste of money. Its heavy and incredibly bulky, and very unpleasant to use as a double, especially with a toddler and a baby. We do a lot of walking and it was honestly the absolute worst to try to walk with especially on even a slight hill with 2 kids. Its all style no substance. If budget is unlimited you might actually want to have different prams for different uses. WE had the maxi cosi zelia for our first but again found that bulky. We bought a redsbaby skip for travel and ended up loving it so much it became our daily use pram. So light and compact and easy to get around with. For a double after we ditched the vista we got the valco baby slim twin which is much lighter than the vista and only like 2cm wider so actually way easier to manouvre. It also folds up really small in a car boot which becomes important when you have multiple kids and need to drive more things around. The kids also love being able to see each other and hold hands. These two prams combined cost way less than the vista but were much more practical.
Agreed! Maybe walking is your child's preference, but it will not always be yours! My oldest daughter is 2.5 and even still if she wants to walk it is slow as mud trying to get from place to place. Toddlers dilly dally and if you need to get some place fast you will want the option to contain them. As far as what I'd recommend as someone who sees a LOT of double strollers: Side by side: Zoe Twin, Bombi Bebee Twin, or Valco Trend Duo or Valco Slim Twin (more of a splurge) For in-line strollers: Mockingbird, Thule Sleek (more of a splurge) I also personally haven't tested these yet but the MomCozy stroller and the new Gladly Grasshopper look really versatile! By the way, I work at GoodBuy Gear where we sell open box and secondhand strollers, and I'm writing from this account. Holler with any other questions!
I have the Valco Twin Slim and you can lay the seat all the way flat. We started using it around 2 months with my second. The Valco Twin is the same, just a bit more space. My kids are just over 2.5 and 10 months and ride in it all the time. The sun shades on it are great, too. So glad I didn’t do an inline like the Vista or Mockingbird.

Valco Slim Twin and Nuna TRVL Dubl Both lightweight, pack up easily, and fit through doorways without a worry. Enough accessories for us and our kids. Started with the Valco and ended up buying the Nuna as an upgrade pic that we kept in the car for around town. The Valco - especially with the upgraded sport wheels - is a good “around the neighborhood” double.

It’s also, in my opinion, somewhat easier to maneuver that an inline stroller with two babies. It has a flat recline so you shouldn’t have any issues with either child napping and the canopy is generous. https://valcobabyusa.com/products/trend-duo-2025?srsltid=AfmBOoqyt-1eupzWwEfUEaEXCL6E1Nl4ofizPItzLVjkhYZ409iC-aBm Edited to add correct link.
I got the valco slim twin! It’s a side by side that has *the same width* as the uppababy vista and other strollers which are stacked / tandem. Fits everywhere! Bought it because we were moving to Europe and I was concerns about narrow doorways but my uppababy vista felt too heavy/bulky to deal with steps etc so I needed a lighter stroller. The slim twin is both significantly lighter, narrower, but also side by side
I am moving to Madrid and some of the old buildings similarly require a flight of stairs even to access the elevator shaft. Many buildings have narrow corridors. The most lightweight and narrow double strollers are the Valco Slim Twin (get it in Sport version or buy normal version and add the infinity wheels which is what the Sport comes with) and the Mountain Buggy Duet. These are the two models my friends who are in similar situations swear by
Seconding the valco slim twin. We had an uppabay vista 2 for the first 5 months. There were lots of things I liked about it - materials, super smooth ride with huge wheels, large basket, and lie flat seats that meant you could skip getting the bassinets if you wanted. We had also been interested in the Donkey but had heard enough stories of friends struggling to get it through doorways of older buildings. However, there were a few things that didn’t work for us either with the vista.Mainly, it’s a “garage stroller”, that you want to store in your garage ready to walk out the door. In order words it’s very heavy and bulky when disassembled and occupies the entire trunk of our car. Similar to the bugaboo donkey, if you Will never be loading and unloading this stroller into your car you should be fine but otherwise I would not recommend these strollers. I also live in a neighborhood that’s hilly, and the stroller without a single baby in it is already extremely heavy to push up any incline and scary to control walking down a hill. We are moving to Europe so I started researching strollers that would be narrow in width, side by side (the tandem ones are long and so if you are in older buildings with tight hallways and small elevators it’s not ideal), and super light so I could get it up the steps to any building or public transportation easily. I considered the Zoe but its 30 inches wide vs the Valco slim twin that’s 26 inches wide (and I believe they weigh the same, about 23 lbs), which is a big difference for handling tight corners, buses and subways. In comparison vista v2 as a double is 26 width but 35lbs in weight. So we bought the Valco Slim Twin and am extremely happy with it. The seats go completely flat. I upgraded the tires as well though that’s not strictly necessary, I just wanted the best suspension for cobblestone villages!
I doubt your 11m old will still fit an infant seat in September. So take the car seat out of the equation and get a travel stroller. We have twins, and have the Valco baby slim twin. It folds easily but also has big wheels. I'm unfamiliar with the options in single strollers but that's something to look for. Europe is likely to have cobblestones or just uneventful pavement in general and small wheels will be annoying. Something like the baby jogger city mini air? See what marketplace has near you... You could even set an alert for the strollers you want since you have a few months.
We have the Valco Slim twin and like it. Before that we had the mountain buggy duet with bassinets. I got the MB for $300 used. There's a lot of options if you don't want to spend the huge price tag for the bugaboo. The Valco Slim twin has a lay flat feature that in hind sight I think we would have been fine using but I was dead set on the bassinets. I don't regret it, just maybe useful info depending on your budget. Personally the foldability and size is more important to me than parent facing seats.
We have the valco slim twin which is quite narrow but side by side. Works well for us!
We only have 5 steps in my lobby but that's a bit of a pain especially now at 17m when twin combined weight is ~45lb We have the Valco baby slim twin, used to have mountain buggy duet. I love the size of both. I like the fold on the Valco better. I think the MB handled the stairs better but the Valco can do it..it just feels a little wobbly. I have never used the donkey but I know it's wider.. I would be worried about that. We have an elevator but it's the world's tiniest so the donkey was out for us. I don't know if this is helpful. Just saying.. keep your expectations low on how easy it is. If I had to do a whole flight I would probably put one in a carrier and take a single stroller but that's me.
I'm a fan of the Valco Slim Twin. I would not base your long term plan on car seats.
Seconding. I had a second hand baby jogger tandem for car seats and now we have a Valco baby slim twin for everything else.
I would throw the Valco baby strollers into the mix. The big wheels really help me with stairs and uneven pavement.
Side by side. Tandems feel like trying to drive a boat and they handle like absolutely garbage. Plus your eldest will be in and out more and that is gonna be a pain cause they have to be the one closer and higher up. Valco is a fantastic side by side brand. Absolutely love mine.
I got a side by side because I tried using the single to double for like a week (Vista) and damn did that thing suck as a double. Steered like a boat, couldn't see my youngest on the bottom and had to practically dismantle the whole thing to get it in my outback. Got a Valco side by side and love that thing so much
Yep I'm using a ring adapter on a Valco with an UPPAbaby car seat and it works great
