When we had our first kiddo the person at the “fancy local baby store” said “everyone in San Francisco has at least 2-3 strollers” and I thought “who are these fancy people with all their disposable income and tons of storage space.” I will say this salesperson DID NOT try to upsell us on strollers and suggested we get the UppaBaby Cruz V2, I was more than willing to buy the Vista V2 but gave us good reasons to not get the Vista (even if we were planning on having a 2nd kid less than 3 years after the first.) Which we keep in and our door locked vestibule area. 6 months later we bought a travel stroller, Nuna TRVL, right before a cross country trip because we realized how bulky it is to travel with the CRUZ V2 after having to put it in/out of our Subaru trunk area, and it had the convenience of not needing an adapter when using our Nuna Pipa car seat. We keep the stroller in the trunk of our car when not flying. 2 years later we now had 2 kids and bought a VEER CITY wagon 4-seater (during an Annual REI 30% sale), we originally bought the adapter to click in the Nuna Pipa car seat for the newest addition but that kiddo was not loving the car seat so much so we bought the additional SwitchBack seat with newborn inserts (which were not used for that long). We keep this one in our garage, and use it for longer local trips on foot. Before we got the stroller wagon we considered a double stroller and even considered an e-stroller double stroller because a hill we tackle daily is a 14% incline, but after a lot of back and forth between a double stroller versus Stroller Wagon, but realized the extra carrying capacity of our Stroller Wagon is helpful for us, and hoping we’d get maybe a few more years of usage out of it versus the carrying capacity/weight limitations of a double stroller. I also realized I’d rather push the stroller wagon or the Cruz V2 up a 14% incline with the weight distribution versus a double stroller (in any of the available configurations on the market.) We also added the stroller board to our Cruz V2, but usually we baby wear the youngest if using the Cruz V2 or Travel Stroller if we have both kids, because unlike Rose in Titanic our Toddler WILL NOT LET GO OF JACK (Jack being the stroller seat) especially not for the baby.
VeerXL with the car seat add!
If you live in a dense city then I would recommend a tandem. We use the Cybex Giselle. Side by side isn't practical. It takes up the space on sidewalks (I called it the blocker), barely fits in elevators, and you can't navigate the shopping isles of many downtown stores or even fit through the single entrance door. At our daycare, we have someone that has a side by side stroller and I cringe all the time as the monstrosity comes in and everyone has to shuffle around this beast. I also have the Veer Wagon (quad) and only use it for going out on adventures like the zoo, amusement park, etc. My preference is the stroller in the city (and we have 3 under 3).
A veer 4 seater. I have one and it washes with a hose. I love mine so much lol
17 month gap here. We got the Veer XL with the infant carrier attachment. We love it. Our firstborn is completely over the stroller already so no way were we doing a double.
It’s a bit heavy but doable. I think like 35 pound without any attachments. And it folds down nicely for storage or the car. It has a push and pull option, both of which are very smooth.
We went with the Veer wagon and infant carrier attachment. 17 month gap.
If you want the most amazing wagon ever made, that your kid can nap in, get a Veer. They make 2 and 4 seaters, I would just get the 4 regardless. Not worried about napping on the go and want great quality for slightly less get a BOB. I’ve had both and can’t recommend them enough.
