I will disagree with pretty much every comment you’ve gotten thus far. We have the W4 and I will forever sing its praises to parents of multiples. I never had the adapters, but our infant carriers fit perfectly in/on the top of the wagon. Were they latched, no? But the wagon is so heavy that it would take a lot for the car seats to get knocked out so I wasn’t concerned. We also have a large SUV and I have never had any issues getting it in and out so since you say your wife is active, I think she’ll be fine! Once you get the hang of unloading it and loading it, it’s honestly faster and easier for me than the double stroller we had to begin with. I honestly don’t understand people that say they’re difficult. It will also grow with you more than other strollers. We had 3 under 2 when I first bought the wagon and it was a lifesaver. I literally use it every day: daycare drop offs, daycare pickups, church, shopping, etc. We also only bought one pack n play so when we travel, one baby would sleep in the pack n play while the other slept in the wagon. Also, if you have a long day of activities, they can use the wagon for literal playing without having to be strapped into a seat like they would in a stroller. Get it! You won’t regret! Best money I’ve ever spent!
I wish I could attach a picture in this group. I have a picture at Sam’s Club where both babies are sleeping in their infant carriers resting snugly on the wagon (no adapters), groceries are underneath them in the wagon, and there’s a huge box of diapers resting on the handle bar. You can’t do that with a stroller 😉 and that’s with no fancy attachments! I’ve seen people buy the cargo nets to attach to the sides for their groceries but I wanted to spend as little as possible on accessories. (I did ask for the snack tray for Christmas this year and it was a great gift!)
Speaking of your MIL, that is probably the only downside - the wagon isn’t very grandparent friendly. None of our parents are strong enough to load or unload it. If they’ll be watching the kids at the house, I roll the wagon into the house (it lives in my car) so that my mom or MIL can take them on walks if they want. But for outings, it’s not something they can easily use. We have a couple of cheap umbrella strollers for the grandparents to use but we also have older kids so there’s always an extra set of hands to push the second stroller.
I have 3 kids. Three years between 1 & 2 and 19 months between 2 & 3. We only had a single stroller until baby 3 was 3 months old. I hated that we only had a single but also couldn’t decide if we should get a double stroller or go for a wagon. We ended up getting the Wonderfold W4 Luxe a couple of years ago and even though it’s heavy and expensive, I’m obsessed with it. We got it during Black Friday so it was around 25% off (a little over $700 after tax). It was either this or the Mockingbird, with all of the add-ons. Ultimately I felt like the wagon would be more useful, especially at a similar price point.
I’ve seen those in person and they’re super nice! Unless someone’s had tank-size children (me too!) and had them outgrow a double stroller (looking at you Bumbleride!) it’s hard to understand why the more expensive ones make a huge difference. Plus with 3 so close together, the oldest is likely to want in the stroller more often than an only child who gets over the stroller at an earlier age! I wish those wagons were a thing when I had my youngest (2019) but I think they were just coming out that year. Congrats - that’ll be great to have! Plus it’s hard to get 3 LO’s out of the house. Anything to make it easier means you get out more to tire them out I had a surprise baby at 45 and had gotten rid of EVERYTHING (I have 2 adult kids and 3 younger - remarried at 37) so I took my DIL with me to shop for baby gear… “Let’s make sure you like whatever I get, because I’m not doing this again and anything you want when we’re done is all yours!” I had 5,3 & NB so I got an Uppa with extra seat and skateboard. (Open box & reg discount, SB was used) To this day, my DIL jokes how she’s glad I had a bonus surprise baby, deal-finding skills and picky taste! 😆 But walking the oldest to her school bus stop with a monster-sized 3yo and chunk-baby would’ve bent another stroller in half! It lived on to carry my first grandchild & DIL sold it for solid profit & got her jogging stroller.
I have both the wonderfold luxe 4 and the baby trend expedition .. I love love love the baby trend ! The graco modes is slightly more expensive then the baby trend but has a footwell (better for kids who eat in the wagon, so they aren’t sitting in crumbs or sand/dirt/debris) and graco has 2 sun covers so depending on who’s sitting where everyone or either one has sun/rain/wind coverage.
We had 2under2 / 14 month age gap. We have a tandem double stroller (nuna demi grow ) and a 4luxe wonderfold, babytrend expedition wagon and a travel stroller. We use our double during indoor things ( mall, aquarium ) We do all our outdoor stuff , sports , zoo, farmers market, splash pad, pool etc in the wonderfold. If we are staying in the neighborhood hood or international travel we use the babytrend expedition, My travel stroller is my incase of emergency / stays in the car at all times / unplanned trip stroller . So it all depends on your lifestyle , the terrain of where you live and what activities your family does. If I could go back in time or only had to get 1 vehicle for my kids it would be a bugaboo donkey ( side by side double stroller )
Have a wonderfold and it's nice but alot of places are banning them and flying with them and traveling in general has become a issue.. Most airlines minus united and some say southwest make u check them at counter witch makes them useless in airports and alot of zoos and parks and stuff don't allow them to. The new wonderfold fits alot better in cars but the w4 takes up alot of space in a trunk

Agree about the Wonderfold W4. Incredible wagon, but it’s like 65 pounds and takes the entire trunk. It’s technically portable, but you better be strong and have a big car. For that reason, best use is walks originating at home where it can be stored.
I have a wonderfold w4 and I highly recommend it (esp if you have a place to store it all set up, as folding it requires unpatching the seats and it’s a pain). BOB doubles are so, so good but not for your setup.
Anecdotally, I’ve had no issues navigating my w4 through any doors. Not too big for standard doors, and easy enough to pull through alone if no one else is around.
Veer wagon 1000%!! I own the uppa baby vista, Wonderfold, veer, & uppa baby minu. Veer is my absolute fave! Parks, mall, sports, travel. Great for any scenario. Hate my Wonderfold, tho it is the W4 so maybe the smaller ones are better. Uppababy Minu (with the ride on board thing) is great if you’re a busy mom and need to be a lot of places and things to do. I have 4 kids and the 2 oldest are in sports every night of the week so having my baby in the stroller and my 2 year old riding the board and then my older ones walking, I can get places fast and can fit in small areas. Uppababy vista is a clutch stroller, I have no complaints about it at all. I love all the options for seating. And I can often bring 3 kids on it easily. My only gripe would be it’s bulky once you get all the shit on it, so if you’re not hectic and don’t need to be in cramped places then it’s also a #1 contender. (I’ve had mine for 5 years and it’s still mint, she holds up GREAT)
Started with new uppababy vista, bought a used joovy double stroller, bought a new wonderfold W4, bought an umbrella stroller, bought a bugaboo donkey duo, sold the joovy, sold uppababy vista, bought a new uppababy minu and car seat adapter for the W4. planning on selling bugaboo donkey. Will likely end up buying a jogging stroller + bike trailer to replace our non-stroller convertible bike trailer. I have 3 kids, 3.5, 2, and 3.5mo. Different strollers have been useful for different seasons of parenting.
I have a Wonderfold W4 wagon, an Uppababy Vista 2, and a Bob Duallie jogger stroller and all can be configured with adapters to accommodate the Chicco Keyfit car seat. I have a 16 month age gap and use each stroller/wagon differently but my Uppababy gets the most use. The car seat needs a special adapter up top (looks like a square halo) and the toddler seat needs a special adapter on the bottom. I had already purchased the Vista system for my first so all I had to buy for #2 was the bottom adapters but holy hell I have like $1500 sunk into that stroller between the OG pieces and adapters/seats. It functions fine as a double stroller. Bulky to fold up and put into a trunk but way lighter and easier to manhandle than my Wonderfold or Bob Duallie. The Bob Duallie pushes the best out of any of the 3 but it’s so wide that it’s not practical for enclosed spaces like a store. Perfect for things with rough terrain like gravel or lawn (think farmers market, outdoor festival, etc). The Wonderfold is so convenient to throw everything into and contain everyone/everything but it’s so heavy and cumbersome to push and it takes up the entire trunk of my 3rd row SUV. It is great though for things like a long day at the zoo or hauling everything to the park or pool.
