I have a Lanshan 2 and Nevis 200 (both 2 person tents) which I find are very comfortable, the Lanshan offers more headroom but can be a PITA to pitch at times. For smaller pitches, I have an Alpkit Soloist and Durston X-Mid 1, the Lanshan offers ample of space and is great in all weathers (even strong wind with mods to the guy lines). I am now wanting a bombproof 3-4 season tent, I’d love a Hilleberg but they’re crazy money!
I also have a Soloist and it's my favourite lightweight tent.
Alpkit does good value tents, you could save ~500g with the Soloist more with trekking pole Tarpstar. I imported an X-Mid 1s from the US distributor pre-tariff, but now they're sold by Dan directly in Canada you can fib about the country of origin and reclaim the duty. There are a decent number on the used market here too.
alpkit soloist or the pole star (if your using walking poles), both are cheap and pretty good value, would have also said tarpstar 1 but it's a problem at times to find enough ground space as the footprint area is pretty big
Ahaha, yeah, that's the full weight of the bag, though that's for a single overnighter, rather than 4 days like yourself. There's a few steps to it, including: \- be in Scotland (aka infinite water glitch) \- be pretty spartan about creature comforts \- be comfortable spending a bit more on sleeping bags / mats than some of the folks on here (but also not crazy-crazy amounts like people on r/ultralight ) This is a pretty good representation of what I pack for an overnighter: [https://lighterpack.com/r/gzv2du](https://lighterpack.com/r/gzv2du) I do usually go out with my other half, so items set to 0 quantity / weight are things he's carrying. That being said, swapping the tent for an Alpkit Soloist for 1 person would be the same weight as carrying half of the 3 man tent, so I think it would only be around 500g more-ish for me to go alone with that tent, and carrying all the shared items he normally carries (battery pack, some of the cooking stuff). Again, above is for one full day, so the food bit would need scaling, but it's still not too bad imo.
