What type of camping are you more likely to do I had a family full canvas 10p black wolf turbo plus 300 tent absolutely love this tent for car camping but it’s heavy at 45kg and massive for storage Takes about 1hour to fully set up with all pegs and guys all pegged out This is only for car camping I’ve now downsized to a darche dusk to dawn double swag just for me and my wife this is only for car camping as well 5 min set up Plenty of room weighs about 10kg maybe a bit more but it still around the same size when it packs down and takes up the same storage space If I could do it again I would get a lightweight hiking tent or ultralight hiking tent these things weigh roughly 1-2kg for a 2p-3p tent They take up less space and storage and can use for either car camping or hiking/solo adventures The swag comes with a mattress the other tents you will need a mattress so get one that’s well insulated
Have used both the canvas and poly Black Wolf Turbo tents for the last 12 years and very happy with them. Just recently down at Wilson’s Prom, we had a few nights of heavy rain and strong wind (if you know the prom, you know) and the tent didn’t budge. Can’t say the same for many of the other brands, saw quite a few bent/damaged Coleman’s and other cheaper brands.
Second hand blackwolf turbo tent from marketplace. There are a few different sizes
Black wolf turbo tent, chose the size and configuration that suits your needs. Easy to set up, and packs up to a good size
Have a look at the Black Wolf tents as well, particularly the Turbo range. They are relatively easy to pitch and take down, they are solid, and they are massive (good for a growing family). They are also very bulky, but that's the trade-off. My scout group uses them for standing camps and they are happy with the tents. Personally I prefer swags and bivvies, but if I was camping for longer periods without moving much I'd get a Black Wolf tent.
I’ve got a Coleman excursion - it’s withstood some pretty serious weather and I like it because if I have to put it up in the rain it stays dry inside. Have wrecked dome tents I could stand up in in the rain. Also have had a black wolf turbo - lasted about 10 years and then tapes came off etc - could manage to erect/pull down that one easily too. Coleman less bulky. https://www.bcf.com.au/p/coleman-excursion-instant-tent-4-person/623683.html?utm_content=paidsearch-pmax&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20489192054&gbraid=0AAAAADkTRtGHw8e6Ozfi-Fg9Xb6f8FPGo&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2PemlZSjkgMVzR2DAx2g6SHKEAQYASABEgLhE_D_BwE I also like the vestibule for stashing chair etc overnight
