Prechill 24hrs before adding foods. We have needed to top up with ice on day 6 of a 10 day trip…and its just because I am particular about it needing to be kept cold enough.
I just went camping with this Coleman tent: https://imgur.com/a/7DFGpIy “ Coleman Weatherproof 4-Person Cabin Tent with Screened Porch” I loved it. Wasn’t too difficult to setup alone. Lots of space inside for a 4 man tent. Big windows but able to be zipped up. Windows allow airflow even with rain fly on it. It was an upgrade from a Coleman sun dome. I also have a 6 man Coleman with porch as well for when I take the kids with me and it was easier and lighter than that one. That 6 man one also allows no airflow with the rain fly on. This 4 man Coleman one is the best of both worlds. Prices on this one are wild. Anywhere from $119-$200 depending on who’s selling it. I got it for $150 shipped.
The Sundome or Cabin series are car camping staples. Great value, easy setup, perfectly adequate for 40-75°F. The ventilation is decent and they're bomber in light rain. Downsides: heavier materials, can get condensation if you seal it up too much. Honestly for your use case, Coleman is probably the practical choice. The price difference could go toward a better sleeping pad or quilt which makes way more difference for comfort.
6 is the right call. It's pretty luxurious by tenting standards. Our 6 person Coleman as enough space to have a queen sized mattress on one side, where we each get our own "end table" (aka plastic bucket that we store camping gear in) to put our glasses, books, phones, w/e on. In the middl, we lay out a couple of yoga mats to make the ground softer, and then on the side opposite of the mattress we have our luggage. Our tent isn't quiet tall enough for the rnus to stand fully up right, but it's close.
As a single adult scout leader I run a 4 person instant Coleman tent. I sleep on my own 95% of the time. In a pinch I could provide room for another leader. I have a 6-person but it’s way too big for me by myself. Before the Coleman I had a 4 person malamoo mega that I really liked.
That tent is a coleman montana 8 person. I have had 2 of them,.they are very sturdy when all the guy lines are used. It does well in the rain... the fly covers the 2 side windows very well. my only complaint would be the windows are high so there is not much air flow low down. I always bring a small fan so not an issue. The coleman 6 person is what I used last. It was fine after I my dog passed and it was just me. I like to have enough room to stand, and bring a chair and small table inside incase it rains. This one is 10x10' and 6' tall. https://preview.redd.it/vna1vl7a5krf1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0c7cb984cda2696f6a6e11b307ce64be9bd89425
