I have the Coleman 6-person Fast Pitch Dome that I love for summer/fall camping. I can put it up by myself in 6-8 minutes and it has worked well for me even on some cold and rainy evenings. Makes solo car camping quick and easy but still big enough for friends to join.
I'm thinking they backed the trailered boat over the tent because, well... our eyesight just becomes worse and worse the older we get. I'd go with a Coleman 6p 10'×10' pop-up. Coleman tents offer good protection at a great price.
coleman 6 person (10x10') that is 6' tall. unless you are over 6' it is good to have extra room for gear and tall enough for standing (esp when getting dressed). I used an 8 person for me and my dog (with a big crate)... I liked enough room to bring a small table and chair in when it rained... https://preview.redd.it/jsndo9u0yfnf1.jpeg?width=1320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93e3bed7e1f5516fccbf75461b281493ff1f93a8
coleman 6 person dome tent. 6' in the center. 4 poles. easy peazy https://preview.redd.it/cgsa2szz287g1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=942dd35996873b523a36c83c56faccb2eeb3d258
i THINK it was a sundome - was purchased in 2021
That tent is a coleman montana 8 person. I have had 2 of them,.they are very sturdy when all the guy lines are used. It does well in the rain... the fly covers the 2 side windows very well. my only complaint would be the windows are high so there is not much air flow low down. I always bring a small fan so not an issue. The coleman 6 person is what I used last. It was fine after I my dog passed and it was just me. I like to have enough room to stand, and bring a chair and small table inside incase it rains. This one is 10x10' and 6' tall. https://preview.redd.it/vna1vl7a5krf1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0c7cb984cda2696f6a6e11b307ce64be9bd89425
This is what I came here to say. Walmart Coleman tent for car camping, you could even do the 6 person and get plenty of room
Lost my Coleman darkroom 6 person tent a few years ago to a heavy snow storm, replaced with their regular 6 person dome from Costco on sale and I miss the darkroom tent so much. Best car camping tent I’ve ever used.
I have the Coleman Dome 6 (two of them) and a Core 9P, both have been great. Just left Bennett Springs in Missouri in our Coleman 6P and stayed dry the whole weekend.

Dude. Get a Coleman pop-up 6 person. Or look into it at least. The ease of set up+tear down alone is worth it. I took my 4p camping every single weekend in 2018,19 & 20 and she still had much life in er! It's more of a dome style so it feels a lot more open I thought. It'll run only $130-50 so we'll under budget that can go into your purchase of the heaviest of duty tarp(brown as I found) to keep the floor lasting longer instead of buying a footprint for dumb money. I'll add, something that I did was bring my Lenovo Tablet to set up the projector it has inside of the tent. You can even buy a small screen for it but I never did and I had many a movie nights back then. The days...
I have a Coleman 6 person pop up tent. I’ve used it for years! Very durable
