"The roborock I have kicked and smashed with my foot so many times out of anger when it doesn't collaborate, and still he rocks 4-5 yrs later and no broken parts"
"they are extremely durable. ... I’ve got well over 1000 miles out of a pair and they still have grip and the uppers are in great shape"
"I've used them for 1500 miles of multi-day hiking with no issues!"

"Super easy. ... Took about 20-30 minutes"
"sets up in under 3 min including stake out time. ... Take down is just as fast and it fits in its storage bag with out much fuss. ... set up in under 90 seconds 120 if you putting in stakes."

"The footprint of the floor is a square for the T4 hub tent, so you should find the available space easy to work with, even with mattress. ... We have the T4 plus, which is just two squares with a room divider. We use cots and there is room for 5 and the dogs."
"I also loved how tall it was, you can probably stand up straight even as a tall person. ... Standing up straight in a tent is a game changer"
"I'm 6'3 and can stand up in it."

"I've had a REI half dome tent for nearing 10 years. ... otherwise it's been holding strong over multiple backpacking trips and car camping in rain and snow."

"Another concern is high winds. I have used it in steady winds up to 25 mph with higher gusts, but I had to tie out the hubs with guy lines, using two lines per hub to give better holding power, and also I swapped out the stakes to more heavy duty all metal spikes which I bring a hammer to hammer into the ground."
"The stakes are junk of course."
"the six L-shaped takes that come with the the footprint suck."

"Im camping now in a Coleman 4 person tent. 1 is comfy, 2 is cramped. 4 if we were midgets."
"I find that you basically have to halve the number of people advertised to fit in a tent to get a comfortable experience with space for gear and to be sleeping without being up against the side walls (which can cause moisture to transfer inside of the tent). ... my Coleman rent that is advertised as a 6 person tent but sleeps three plus gear better than it fits 6 sardines."
"Door is only on one side, which makes it hard to use 2 cots (6 person)."

"Leaked in moderate rain and ruined our week."
"Used my tent for the first time this weekend. had a few hours of rain during the evening. because of the high cut out, there is a lot of splashing water. as a result, drops came through the inner tent! Also, due to the high cut-out everything next to your inner tent, such as my bag and shoes, were wet as well."
"We had the one with the screen vestibule for one rainy night, and it literally FUNNELLED the rain inside our tent! That version was the worst tent EVER."

Here seems to be a decent tent (on sale) for around the price point: https://www.rei.com/product/201636/coleman-skydome-darkroom-4-person-tent It seems to bridge the gap between pop-ups and a standard tent.
We have a Coleman 4 person skydome darkroom tent and it was waterproof in the 2023 storm until our canopy broke and crashed into/broke the tent lmao. We got a new one though. We also have an Ohnana tent for if we don’t have as much camping space & that one has held up since 2019, but they don’t make them anymore
This tent has really awful air circulation. We had to lift half of the rainfly to get any air to cool the tent down, which defeats the purpose of the rainfly and the darkroom effect of the tent
I have the 4p and 6p and they definitely block out the light
Love my coleman dark room tents!
I just finished my first cub scouts campout in a Coleman Skydome tent, the kind with the "Dark Room Technology" which I \*highly\* recommend if your child is on the younger side (mine is 7) because it really does stay nice and dark in there, great for kids being able to sleep even with late sunsets and early sunrises. We were not the only Coleman "Dark Room" tents in our pack. We have a 4-person and we fit two cots in there with some room in the middle, but if you go with [the 6-person version](https://www.coleman.com/camp-sports/tents-by-size/skydome-6-person-screen-room-camping-tent-with-dark-room-technology/SAP_2206907.html) you'd absolutely have plenty of room - it'll be downright spacious if you get the screen room. Setup is a breeze. I've only ever set this thing up by myself or with the help of my 7-year-old, which probably makes it take a few minutes longer but it's good for him to help. ;) I do have the one with the screen room, which is great for extra storage and keeping the sleeping area clean (our system is shoes don't go past the screen room), and the Skydome model has zip-up panels so the screen room stays dry even if it rains (which it did this past trip). The Coleman Carlsbad Dark Room has a fully mesh screen room which I'd imagine would basically trap water along the floor when it rained. Honestly the WeatherMaster pictured in your post looks like it would also let rain inside the screen room area, I'd make sure it has panels to zip up behind the mesh. I \*love\* having that extra screened in area though so I do recommend that.
We got a new 6P tent that turned out to be huge. It’s fine when we take 6 grandchildren but just cavernous for us as a couple. Camp Coleman Dark Room Skydome 4P is a very appealing tent. But I purchased the Eureka Space Camp 4P for the same price (on big sale) because it offered front/rear vestibules and formed metal poles providing more headroom and stability. We love the Eureka! (The Eureka brand has been discontinued by Johnson Outdoors. However, there seems to be plenty of inventory in the supply chain.)
We’ve car camped with a Coleman instant up (I think a Skydome 4) for 11 years. It survived a derecho at high elevation in 2020, and it has seen lots of rain and hail. We still use it for car camping a few times a year. There’s one pole on it that’s taped, couple patched up holes, and when it quits we’ll buy another one. For the price I don’t think we could ask much more out of it. Not saying you can’t do better, but they’re definitely not junk.
There are many great luxurious 4P tents such as Marmot Halo, but since you have a dog I'll recommend the Coleman Skydome 4P - [https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-4-Person-Weatherproof-Headroom-Traditional/dp/B0D7QG9H85/](https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-4-Person-Weatherproof-Headroom-Traditional/dp/B0D7QG9H85/) \- as its 'cheaper' material is actually tougher and more durable to tearing than the expensive tents. The tent may not be luxurious in appointments but it is extremely luxurious in space. It is also cheap to replace if and when your dog damages it. If you have a big truck to transport your tent, you can also look at the Gazelle T4 - [https://www.amazon.com/Gazelle-GT400GR-Portable-4-Person-Overlanding/dp/B08B2FGLV8](https://www.amazon.com/Gazelle-GT400GR-Portable-4-Person-Overlanding/dp/B08B2FGLV8) \- which is very quick and easy to set up, but is very big when folded down. For lantern, the one to get is Sofirn BLF LT1 - [https://www.amazon.com/Camping-Lantern-Rehargeable-Runtime-flaslight/dp/B097MN6P1B](https://www.amazon.com/Camping-Lantern-Rehargeable-Runtime-flaslight/dp/B097MN6P1B)
I had considered mentioning the 4p skydome. It’s held up for me 50mph gusts, 20-40 sustained.
Assuming car camping, a simple Coleman 4 person dome tent that they are capable of putting up/taking down with a friend.
