Definitely want to get at least a 6 person tent for a family of 4. Get an 8 or even 10 person tent if you want some decent extra room. I just bought the CORE 10-person cabin tent with full rainfly from Amazon last summer (for a family of 4), but it seems like it's out of stock at the moment. I also have a Big Agnes Bunk House 6 which has served my wife and I pretty well over the last few years (just the two of us). I love this YouTube channel. She does a great job of looking at a lot of different tent options at different sizes. [https://www.youtube.com/@CampingGuidance](https://www.youtube.com/@CampingGuidance)

Core 10 person full rain fly is what I went with and I’m happy with it. Quick setup, full rain fly for inclement weather, and space for my family of four. If you’re car camping I’d advise you to get at least double the tent capacity you need. You’ll never regret having more space.

We have a Core 6 person instant up with the full rain fly and love it. We use it for long roadtrips. Packs up pretty small, my 6’ husband can stand up in it and the full rain fly is a game changer when camping. We also have a 10 person Core with the full rain fly as well. It’s great for when you’re camping in the same spot for a longer period of time.

I have a napier sport and its just okay. I have moved to a costco 10 person tent that does not attach to the car but it works better for us. Since we have power at our camping sites for the car, we also bring along a heater/cooler dyson fan thing for the tent and I just sleep in the car with the doors shut.

Core is my go-to brand. I have that exact one, and it's been through a lot. We added the 6, 9, and 10 person instant tents. We got slammed by big big storms with high straightwinds while at festivals, and afterward, the core tents are always still standing in the tent graveyards.

Go with the Core 10 person imo. I have one for just me and my girlfriend. Ours is the lighted version. You can stand up and plenty of room when we bring the kids along.
