I have the core 8 person tent and love it. Enough room for a full size air mattress and a single cot with room the change want walk around space. Easy set up, great all around.
We have had our Core tent for 2 or 3 years and love it. It sets up super quick, and packs away relatively easily. It's an 8 sleeper, and is almost too much room for the lady, myself, and the doggo
I own a Core, and it's a great tent. It's good in the weather, easy to set up, and plenty spacious. Mine does great without the guy lines, but I can attach those if things get spicy, and it's not going anywhere. Cons: It's HUGE and HEAVY when packed up. Between that tent, and the cots I bring along for the fam, that takes 30% (or 50% if I'm in my Jeep) of my transport storage space. It's specifically designed for warm-weather camping, so if you winter camp at all, it's not the right tent. Like at all.
I’ve had Core instant tents and never had an issue. Easily over 100 nights before any leaking, and I wasn’t taking the best care of it so likely could have lasted longer.
Coleman or core. I’ve used both regularly and in some bad weather without problems. I like core instant tents for the quick setup and breakdown. Coleman Skydome are also great for a mix of dome and cabin style. Will likely want a 8 person or more for the space and headroom.
Go with the Core... those extra $40 usually get you slightly better zippers which is a lifesaver when a toddler is trying to "help" by zipping themselves in and out 50
I have a core instant tent. 9 person and I can put it up and take it down by myself.
We have one from Core and love it! Definitely easy to set up with just one person, but kiddos should be able to help with some parts along the way. Arguing it back into the bag usually takes two of us, though it can be done solo. Upgrading the ties they give to cinch it down has helped a lot (currently using P cord and thinking maybe we move to Velcro?) with the bulkiness. Because the breakdown time is quick, ours is usually still damp (despite brushing moisture and/or wiping it down with a towel) and requires resetting when we get home to fully dry out.
I have a core cabin tent and I adore it. It’s my home in the woods. My partner and I bought it five years ago and we use it at least 6 times a year going camping with my parents. We only had one issue with one pole snapping (after a toddler got hold of it) and it was easily repaired with a kit we got at Walmart.
