I have a Core Blackout 9 person and the quality is great.
r/camping • Do you guys have experience with these? ->https://preview.redd.it/oydm4ph4ynne1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=272894cdbf5fe5393832d636453796fb4db2cca4 This is a Core cabin tent (either 9 or 10 person, I forget which, but it’s 9’x14’) with a queen airbed. This is a rainy day setup, hence chair and table inside. Dog is optional, but a nice-to-have 😉
r/camping • Recommendation for Instant Cabin style tent, 2025 ->I really like our full rain fly Core 9 tent instant tent. Think it was 350 msrp and we got it on sale like 100 off. Last year.
r/CampingGear • Recommendations for 8-10 person tent ->I have the Core 9 person instant cabin tent and LOVE IT! The biggest pro is that I can set it up by myself in about two minutes. That way the other parent can watch the kid and then we’re set up quickly. It’s big enough to stand up in, and we fit a queen + twin mattress in there plus room to move around. It’s big enough for my toddler to play in if it’s rainy. The overhead light is also useful. It was inexpensive for a tent that size, so I wasn’t expecting super high quality, just wanted something easy to set up.
r/camping • Parents who camp, need a tent rec! ->I have the Core instant up tent. All poles are attached. I put it up and take it down myself.
r/CampingGear • Tent Recommendation ->I have the Core 9 person. Set up and take down myself. Love it! Seal the bottom seams though. They will seep in heavy rain otherwise.
r/CampingGear • Are instant up tents a gimmick? ->I have the 9 person, but it didn't come with that full fly. Setup and takedown is super easy. But now I want one with the full fly!
r/camping • Core 9 person instant Cabin tent with full fly ->I have a CORE 9 Person Instant Cabin Tent that works best with 1 person or a couple.
r/camping • is it normal to bring a 12 or 10 person tent for a couple? ->Core is my go-to brand. I have that exact one, and it's been through a lot. We added the 6, 9, and 10 person instant tents. We got slammed by big big storms with high straightwinds while at festivals, and afterward, the core tents are always still standing in the tent graveyards.
r/camping • Do you guys have experience with these? ->I have the Coleman Dome 6 (two of them) and a Core 9P, both have been great. Just left Bennett Springs in Missouri in our Coleman 6P and stayed dry the whole weekend.
r/camping • Do you guys have experience with these? ->We have the orange core 9. Love it. Car camping family, fits queen and 2 single air mats, dog bed, bags plus more floor space. 6 ft husband can stand up straight. Has withstood multiple rainstorms. Been through a lot and still going strong. Highly recommend.
r/camping • I've narrowed down my tent search, let me hear your pros & cons on these please! ->We have a ton of tents, but use our Core 9 person when we have our entire family. Great tent.
r/CampingGear • Are instant up tents a gimmick? ->We go camping with kids each year. Just got back from a camping trip in the Northwoods with 6 kids under 10! My daughter is 4 and this was her 5th trip. (Sorry for the long post!!) Definitely 1 big tent or 2 smaller tents with 1 adult in each. Kids tend to wake up throughout the night. We just got a Core 9 person tent and it worked out well for us this year. We use a little potty chair in the tent in case of emergencies. Lots of clothes and all types of weather options because who knows what they might need. Lots of socks because they are somehow always wet. If you are going somewhere with bugs- just go for bug spray with deet straight away. Being covered in deet is better than the kids being covered in swollen mosquito bites (even though it’s inevitable). Bring lots of outdoor activities to keep them busy. Glowsticks, coloring supplies, bug catchers, books, etc. We colored walking sticks and “went fishing” with a rod that had a practice lure (no hook) on it. We always suggest to be flexible and not worry about naps and bed time. The kids will sleep when they are tired and it’s better than fighting with them to take a nap when it’s night in the tent. For safety- don’t let them walk near the fire and make sure to bring a first aid kit with ice packs. For the food cooler- we use frozen ice packs and don’t put ice straight into the cooler. It makes the food less waterlogged and seems to keep things cold for much longer. And the most obvious suggestion- bring lots of snacks 😆
r/camping • First-Time Camping with Young Kids Advice Needed! ->Not exaggerating. Our Core 9-person tent is big enough for three cots. We stuff gear under the cots, and have room for a small folding table and chairs in case we need a place to hang out if it's raining.
r/camping • What should I look for when purchasing a tent for 2-3 people? What should I avoid ? ->I originally bought the Timberline 2 for backpacking in rugged terrain during Fall/Winter seasons in northern VT and NY. The simple A-frame style is superior to most designs in high wind or snowy conditions, but most folks today demand more space and comfort. As a retiree, with creaky bones, who can no longer manage hiking, I now normally use an Alps 3-man dome tent or a Core 4 cabin-walled tent. These two are not as rugged as the Timberline, but are spacious and inexpensive. I drive an F150 with a full 8' canopy so I keep the Timberline is case of full-storm weather. The Pacific coast can have wicked winds and sheeting rain during the colder months.
r/camping • help! purchasing first tent this weekend - snow peak alpha breeze or eureka space camp 6? ->Any of the Core instant tents are GREAT. Our family of 5 (plus dog!) finally switched to an instant tent and it’s a game changer because it opens up like an umbrella, so one person can set the tent by themselves in minutes. Get a 6-person tent to fit three people, including an air mattress and playard.
r/camping • Parents who camp, need a tent rec! ->I’ve had Core instant tents and never had an issue. Easily over 100 nights before any leaking, and I wasn’t taking the best care of it so likely could have lasted longer.
r/camping • Best hub tents? "Pop up/instant" options worth researching similar to gazelle? ->Coleman or core. I’ve used both regularly and in some bad weather without problems. I like core instant tents for the quick setup and breakdown. Coleman Skydome are also great for a mix of dome and cabin style. Will likely want a 8 person or more for the space and headroom.
r/camping • Tent suggestions on a budget - reviews are contradicting.. ->My core instant tent went through damn near hurricane storms and not even a drip. My son had a Coleman that went through an unbelievable storm on the beach and stay dry and a bone and standing. All the other tents were mangled. You don't need to spend the big bucks - unless you genuinely want to. There are many folks raving about Ozark Trails quality - they love them.
r/CampingGear • inexperienced occasional car camper looking for 6p tent recommendations. ->Core instant tent is my recommendation but if that is the one you have get out there and enjoy!,,
r/camping • Pop up tent ->We just picked up the core instatent and love it. Takes about 90 secs to set up, plenty of room. It’s not a backpacking tent but we’re really happy with it!
r/camping • Recommendations for a tent for two cots ->https://preview.redd.it/a9me8t9y7gee1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0294785910567290d6e8cf18d7a18a8e22a48b45 Here’s a view of the inside. Plenty big for 2 cots. We went with 6 person for the extra room when our kids go with us.
r/camping • Recommendations for a tent for two cots ->Family of 5 here - we did the Core instant pop tent, it was a game changer, makes camping with the r family so much easier. They are bigger to pack than the standard pole tents.
r/camping • Do you guys have experience with these? ->Love the Core Instant Cabin. Goes up super fast and is cheap at Costco
r/camping • Recommendations for a tent for two cots ->Get an instant cabin tent for the adults (5 minute setup) and possibly smaller tents for the kids. Your mom will likely also need a cot or tall air mattress, getting up off the floor or even sleeping on a hard floor can be too much as you get older. Core, Coleman, and Walmart all make inexpensive instant tents. Our core tent has lasted for 3 years of monthly camping trips. It's not great at heavy rain, but the newer models are supposed to be better.
r/carcamping • Recommendations for tent, car camping with lots of kids. ->Look at Core Cabin tents. I think Costco sells them. Easy to set up for first timers and you can stand in them. Get a 6 or 8 person. Keep in mind that the number is the number of average sized sleeping bags it will hold crammed next to each other.
r/camping • Planning my first camping trip ->I have a core cabin tent and I adore it. It’s my home in the woods. My partner and I bought it five years ago and we use it at least 6 times a year going camping with my parents. We only had one issue with one pole snapping (after a toddler got hold of it) and it was easily repaired with a kit we got at Walmart.
