I have the 9 person instant tent from Core. We’ve used it for 6-7 years and really enjoy it! Sets up seriously fast, good features for basic family camp. Certainly a bit heavy and bulky when packed away, but we only camp in state/ national parks, so we’re never parked far.

We have the Core 9 person Instant set-up cabin tent.  Sets up and takes down in minutes. The rainfly is on the smaller side, but the walls are nice and steep

This is a rainy day setup, hence chair and table inside. Dog is optional, but a nice-to-have 😉

We have a CORE 9 Person instant tent from Costco. It comes with D-battery powered LED lighting and simple to set up because it's an instant tent. You just pull each leg, unfold (WATCH YOUR FINGERS WITH THESE THINGS), and pull the legs out of their sheathing until they click into place. Each leg is just like a popup canopy leg. They are simple.

I think you may be over thinking what a tent needs to do. It needs to keep you dry, and keep the bugs out. I would consider a 6 person instant tent. My favorite for car camping is[this style](https://a.co/d/7A4RCmE). One thing people forget to consider is how easy a tent is to set up. For car camping, I can have my tent fully set up in <5 minutes. I went camping with friends and had my entire campsite set up (tent, sleeping gear, a hammock, our cook set up and some string lights) before my friends got just their tent set up. Sure it has some flaw, but it’s perfectly fine 90% of the time. Don’t let “perfect” be a blocker to having fun camping. It’s just car camping you can take as much stuff as you can fit in your car.

I like all kinds of camping, including some long trips with a big tent. I have an instant cabin that’s 9x9’. The only downsides can be that it takes up a good deal of room, both in the car and a level spot big enough can be a challenge. And in colder weather it can be colder, but I often take my heater (make sure to vent).

Core 9 man instant. I love mine. It’s a bit bulky to pack, but I can have it up, staked and the rain fly on in 5-7 minutes. I cans fully stand in it (I’m 6’2) and and easily fit 2 queen mattress in it with room. Around $250.

They're great. I have the Core 9P Instant Cabin Tent. I'm researching ones with higher quality materials.

I had one small hole in the floor. But I have a rambunctious 4 year old so that's a factor. The tent came with a repair kit and it was easily patched. You can't even tell. The kid is part of the reason I'm looking at an upgrade with higher quality materials. Otherwise I'd keep this until it crumbles, which would probably be a while.

We’ve had the Core 9 person instant tent with full rainfly for a year now and it was so nice last summer having the extra room to be able to stand up and move around. It’s a large bag to have to pack into the car, but setup is so fast and easy it’s been wonderful. We were rocking a cozy 6 person for a long time and I’m not sure I could go back!

Honestly if space and weight isn't an issue, don't touch anything that isn't an ez up like this: Core 9 Person Instant Cabin Tent - 14' x 9', Green (40008) https://a.co/d/5JHghnB Setup in less than 5 minutes total, very durable, have had this for years and it's lasted through strong winds, rain, many music festivals and camping trips. Never had a leak or any issues with it. Tons of space, can easily fit 2 queen air mattresses with plenty of room to spare. Can FULLY STAND UP through the tent.

Not exaggerating. Our Core 9-person tent is big enough for three cots. We stuff gear under the cots, and have room for a small folding table and chairs in case we need a place to hang out if it's raining.

Had this tent for a few years now and it's holding up well. We always put a heavy tarp between it and the ground. [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VFH1RQS?th=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VFH1RQS?th=1)

We have a core 9 tent that fits a queen size air mattress one one side, and then use the extra space on the other side for getting dressed or hanging out when the weather is crap. It's way overkill, but it's easy to set up, and I can stand in it.

That seems the be the issue with most instant tents. I haven't had any ripped on me in 10+ years, between coleman and core, but I can see where it stretches. They shipped it with a piece of cardboard that fits between the hub and tent when folded. I reused it for several years.

I’ve had instant tents from core and Ozark Trail and a Coleman dome tent. Any will do fine for getting into camping. I always stress not spending a lot when you get started. I’ve known people to start camping then quit after a few times or decide to buy a camper or get into back packing inside. Go budget amid use as much stuff that you already have to start out

Been camping with 3 for the past 12yrs. Used a Browning (by Alps) Big Horn for 10 of those. It's been great and excellent customer service. I going to replace it with a Core Instant tent. The quality of these instant tents has gone up enough that I trust them. I was very unimpressed with the Coleman instants. I have lots of camping hacks to keep the tent somewhat orderly. Let me know if interested.

I have an instant set up tent from Core and it’s amazing! It was relatively inexpensive too. When my family camps, one adult can set the tent up in 1-2 minutes while the other watches the toddler. The poles stay attached to the tent always, so set up and break down are really easy.

Get an instant cabin tent for the adults (5 minute setup) and possibly smaller tents for the kids. Your mom will likely also need a cot or tall air mattress, getting up off the floor or even sleeping on a hard floor can be too much as you get older. Core, Coleman, and Walmart all make inexpensive instant tents. Our core tent has lasted for 3 years of monthly camping trips. It's not great at heavy rain, but the newer models are supposed to be better.

We just picked up the core instatent and love it. Takes about 90 secs to set up, plenty of room. It’s not a backpacking tent but we’re really happy with it!

Look at Core Cabin tents. I think Costco sells them. Easy to set up for first timers and you can stand in them. Get a 6 or 8 person. Keep in mind that the number is the number of average sized sleeping bags it will hold crammed next to each other.
