I don’t agree. I bought budget and I’m very happy with it. In fact I had more trouble with my cheap pole tent then my air tent. I just didn’t have the money for the high end one when i bought it and I had to buy in a hurry because my high end pole tent ripped the day before I needed it. I was a bit anxious to buy in a rush like that but 3 years later and I’m not sorry. I had started researching air tents because I knew my old one was on the way out but I thought I’d get one more go out of it. I read reviews and everything seemed good. My biggest plus for it is that it goes up so quickly, and in fact I can put it up alone. Second I’m not repairing poles like was starting to happen after nearly every trip. The cons are the size of the packed up tent, the cost and the pump takes up a lot of space. Overall I’m happy I got mine.
Decathlon Quechua Air seconds 4.1 . I don’t know if you have Decathlon where you are?
Budget as in I could afford it as replacement for a similar sized pole tent. Otherwise with my budget i was going to have to look at second hand air beam ones which weren’t cheap either and there was a high risk of getting one that was damaged. The reviews were good so I took a chance in a pinch and turns out in this case quality wasn’t lost to lower cost. I’m quite impressed with other products too. I replaced my air mattress and pillows too after out shed was attacked by rodents and they are great too. I love that the air mattress comes with a bag to pack it in. We slept on it for a week recently and no need to give it extra air along the way.
Is that really a budget air tent? I'd say mid-range, no? I own it too. Brilliant tent. You really have to try hard to damage it. It's not perfect, but the design is mostly very well thought out. The inflated beams are made of glass-fiber reinforced TPU, coated with a protective layer of PVC. TPU is in a league of its own when it comes to being expandable and puncture resistent. I also own a TPU air mattress which is more expensive than the tent. Decathlon was clever to cut costs where durability is not high priority, but to not compromise the material quality for the air beams.
