REI’s a great brand! Could probably snag some good carousell deals from returning Singaporeans as well (i did)… also still better than paying US retail prices. If your friend can find a good deal on secondhand Nemo though, could be worth your time/money Anyway, I think it depends how “ultralight” you want to go. If you’re doing a trail as serious as the PNW, every pound absolutely matters, and only the decathlon Ultralight series of equipment will do, such as the MT900. If you’re okay with a 3-season, i would think that the 3FUL Lanshan 2 is a better pick for the weight, and the comfort is passable imo. The ergonomics re: packing is also great since it doesnt have poles (you’ll need trekking poles). You can’t really go too wrong with either though, as long you’re mindful of what weight you’re ready to handle Also can consider renting your tent instead if you dont think you’re going to use it all that much. Storage in singapore is a pain, and can kill your tent if you don’t regularly remove humidity….

If you are using trekking poles, the Forclaz MT900 Tarp Tent from Decathlon makes a very good argument. It is what I've been using right now and I've been pretty happy with it. 1.3kg, and properly wind tested. In any case they also have self standing (1.95kg) and tunnel (1.65kg) MT900 versions still under 300€.

X mid 2's are meant to be the boy. Decathlon mt900's are amazing too. My mate just got a Robens Aster pro 2 and that looks solid think it was £150 ish

Decathlon's trek 900 series is actualy amazing for the price - their 900g down sleeping bag is around €120, their 40L pack is under 1kg for €80, and they've got those MT900 tents listed in OP's comment that are solid trekking pole shelters.
