"sleeping cabin is too short for average sized humanoid male (that's a common issue across almost all Decathlon tents, especially the pole style tents, weird)"
"Only thing I'd change for next time is to have the camp bed rotated 90 degrees - because it's not that tall, my head was almost touching the roof."

"floor is not fully sealed with tent walls, insects crawl inside through gaps (like 1000+ ants if you're unlucky)"
I use the decathlon 2 second easy 3 person tent. Fits a exped megamat max duo with some spare space. I prefer it over the gazelle tents, because it's a blackout tent, lower to the ground to not catch wind, and most importantly it is very compact (egg shaped) when it is stored. The gazelle is very long so its difficult to store it in the car while keeping it accessible.
r/overlanding • Tent Recommendations ->Stay away from Decathlon if you wanna camp in peace. Some of their tent models have severe engineering faults almost as if a total noob derived from any common sense designed them and nobody ever bothered testing them outdoors either. I've actually spoken with a regional manager about this once and the problem is that Decathlon is soo big that it's gotten really hard to make any product changes at all without affecting supply chain and profit margin. They basically know their products are crap but they cannot do anything about it and customers in poorer countries aren't that picky either so nobody cares. The list is long but here's a few examples: The door on the Airseconds 4.1 is not mounted with the bottom, during windy rain it thus gets blown inside and then acts as a water slide for rain water. Lots of customers have reported this over the years and I even saw it in person when visiting a Decathlon store once (they had their tents set up outside and it was a stormy rainy day). Almost all bigger Decathlon tents don't have fully sealed bottoms, thus insects will slowly crawl inside over time. It should be noted that similar priced tents from Easy Camp (budget brand from Outwell), Kampa (budget brand from Dometic) or Coleman all have fully sealed bottoms. Decathlon pole based hiking tents and pop up style tents are all too short for an average sized 180cm humanoid male, your feet and head will be touching the walls when sleeping on a 8cm thick pad (I tested that myself). Making the tent just a few cm bigger would resolve this but it would also cut into their profit margin. The only great Decathlon tent is the "2 seconds easy" because it can be set up in a few seconds and offers a real 205cm useable length due to the upside walls. I've got the 2P and 3P sizes of that model and spent many nights in them, they're really unique on the market. It remains a mystery why they forgot to add vents on the 2P size (the 3P got them), but I went ahead and added them myself.
r/camping • Decathlon Tents Any Good? ->you probably got a "2 Seconds" tent, however I recommend getting the "2 Seconds easy" tent which is a totally different product I apologize for the confusion but it's not my fault that Decathlon is too stupid to come up with a more distinctive product naming scheme
r/camping • Best Black out tent? ->as I said above, that's not the same like "2 seconds easy". I know that because I got both tents and the "easy" tent is vastly superior. Too bad Decathlon couldn't give it an equally good name. I mostly stopped recommending the tent because people are almost always assuming I mean the "2 seconds" tent when in fact I mean exactly what I said. Probably the most misleading product name ever, what a mess.
r/camping • Best Black out tent? ->"Decathlon Quechua 2 seconds easy" -> very good tent, sets up in like 10 seconds. Probably the best overnighter tent out there. Only real downside is the stupid name, hardly any customer will instantly grasp that "2 seconds" and "2 seconds easy" are completely different products. "Decathlon Quechua 2 seconds" -> shit tent, too short for 6' humanoid male, needs stakes and folding it together is a PIA. Source: I've had both.
r/CampingGear • What I a good 1 person tent which is really easy and quick to build and take down for under 300€ ->"Decathlon Quechua 2 seconds easy" -> very good tent, sets up in like 10 seconds. Source: I've had both.
r/CampingGear • What I a good 1 person tent which is really easy and quick to build and take down for under 300€ ->I know this tent very well, it's quite popular due to the low price but badly ventilated and a bit too short for an average sized humanoid male. The best tent for car camping purposes is the Decathlon 2 seconds easy in 3P size. It's super quick to set up (like 10 seconds) and much better designed than the pole style MH tents. Note: "2 seconds easy" (good tents) and "2 seconds" (terrible tents) a different product lines, stupid naming scheme by Decathlon.
r/camping • is this decathlon tent okay for camping? ->Decathlon Quechua: - Door is not connected with the tent bottom thus wind pushes it over the bottom lip and water comes inside (experienced it myself and also reported by numerous customers on their own website) - floor is not fully sealed with tent walls, insects crawl inside through gaps (like 1000+ ants if you're unlucky) - sleeping cabin is too short for average sized humanoid male (that's a common issue across almost all Decathlon tents, especially the pole style tents, weird) Even though the "Decathlon 2 seconds easy" is my favorite overnighter tent I've to admit that almost all other Decathlon tents have severe engineering issues and are basically trash products that aren't worth the struggle. I even spoke with a Decathlon product manager once about the situation and they basically cannot do anything about it because Decathlon is too big of a company for any quick production changes and frankly nobody cares in poorer countries anyway, low price comes above anything else.
r/camping • Coleman vs Quechua ->I got the 3-man XL pop up from decathlon, was on offer for £100 down from £140 when I bought it. Plenty of room for a double airbed and all your stuff. Keeps the heat at bay for a lot longer. Absolutely no regrets and wondered why I didn’t get one sooner. https://preview.redd.it/12loxaa3huaf1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5be7419d26daf24747dfb3a579e0e2bb52992e6
r/glastonbury_festival • Black out tent experiences/reviews ->I took the quechua 3 man XL popup F&B- at just over 2m square, I had space for a camp bed and airbed on top, with space underneath for storage boxes. Only thing I'd change for next time is to have the camp bed rotated 90 degrees - because it's not that tall, my head was almost touching the roof. Also took a camp light, definitely needed most of the time. Temperature wise, phenomenal. Got to sleep till 10-11am every day without having to crawl out, gasping for fresh air https://preview.redd.it/z29lm3izzvaf1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=716ce32c331e62055c2080c42c55eb77b7a19a7b
r/glastonbury_festival • Black out tent experiences/reviews ->I have the 2 seconds 3 - it was able to fit 2 adults, a 10 year old and dog with one backpack. I’m a huge fan especially in colder environments, it does not rise high up which is great for retaining heat. I do not camp in snow or very cold, but in 30-35f it does a great job. On the flip side I found it unbearable in Texas in September one time, very little breeze through. Easy to take out and put away.
r/camping • Easy to setup tents ->Save yourself the hassle and buy this: https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/camping-tent-2-seconds-xl-3-person-fresh-and-black/_/R-p-172537 Pain in the arse to put away but the time saved not dicking around with tent poles makes it worth it, used mine for 4 ish years now and I swear by it
r/downloadfestival • First time camping - tent recommendations? ->Not a fan of that tent design. By necessity of its design the poles are thin and flexible (so it can fold in on itself for breakdown) meaning even in light winds it can bwnd and fold on itself. A moderate or heavy wind would blow the outer walls straight into you. If you only ever plan to use in ideal conditions it may be ok though. The one you linked isn't large enough to stand up in, I know that was one of my SOs requirements to go camping, not sure about yours. Dark fabric for blocking sun is becoming more popular, personally I like more mesh for airflow but I have mostly previously camped in hotter areas (recently moved to a colder climate so learning new things lol) If it looks like it fits your needs and will be sufficient for the conditions and is in budget then sounds like it should work!
r/camping • Choosing the Right Quechua 2 Seconds Tent – Need Advice ->"Quechua 2 seconds" Its name is program.
r/CampingGear • What I a good 1 person tent which is really easy and quick to build and take down for under 300€ ->I have a quechua two second pop up tent and a hemiplanet fistral inflatable tent, The specific models are probably too small for your needs, but as far as ease of set up, the pop up is slightly quicker to set up, but slower to put away and also kind of a pain. The inflatable is extremely easy to set up and put away, the only downside con the fistral has compared to the quechua in my opinion is that it is more expensive.
r/camping • Easy to setup tents ->Absolutely stick with the 3 man you’ve got. I saw several dozen Quechua fresh and black tents (as well as my own). I feel like that speaks for itself.
r/glastonbury_festival • Black out tent experiences/reviews ->Quechua 3 man F&B, non XL version. Perfect size for me and my stuff, didn’t wake up from the heat once, was bliss. Got mine for around £50
r/glastonbury_festival • Black out tent experiences/reviews ->Same, 3man Quechua Fresh and Black. Absolute God send. I'm not sure quite how well it'd do in torrential rain but it's definitely a big bonus when it's hot.
r/glastonbury_festival • Black out tent experiences/reviews ->I have decathlon fresh&black tents and they are the best, you can sleep around 2 hours longer when the sun comes out and they are relatively cheap while beeing of decent quality. I don't know if you can get them in the states though.
r/festivals • Tent Recommendations ->Can concur the fresh&black line with blackout lining is awesome for camping. Have now owned 4 of their tents and they're incredible value for those price points. If you're starting off building up your own camping gear you wont go wrong with their stuff.
r/camping • Decathlon Tents Any Good? ->Get a Fresh and Black from Decathlon and call it a day. It’s by far the most acclaimed series of tents on here.
r/glastonbury_festival • Best heat-resistant tents? ->Yes! I’ve had my Fresh&Black tent for over three years and I go camping about 30 nights per year. It’s still like new. They’re very cheap, too.
r/camping • Decathlon Tents Any Good? ->I went with the F&B this year and it was actually too good. It was so dark that when I went to bed at 8am I ended up waking up at 17:00 and missing my favourite sets. Was gutted, will be returning it. 10/10 for sleep, 0/10 for self control
r/glastonbury_festival • Black out tent experiences/reviews ->Have had the standard Quechua blackout and it has honestly been great. You aren't roasting at 9am scrambling to get out the tent. A 3 man for one person will be absolutely fine. We are a couple and have the 3 man and are looking for a slightly bigger tent now (it is doable but theres basically no space if its two people plus bags) and will likely just stick with the same brand just in a bigger size. It isn't super light but to be honest at this stage I'd rather take the better tent that I can actually get a bit of rest in and deal with the carrying than get a lighter non blackout tent I can't stand being in. Worried about the weight of the bigger one but think it will be a better experience!
