I have the 2 seconds 3 - it was able to fit 2 adults, a 10 year old and dog with one backpack. I’m a huge fan especially in colder environments, it does not rise high up which is great for retaining heat. I do not camp in snow or very cold, but in 30-35f it does a great job. On the flip side I found it unbearable in Texas in September one time, very little breeze through. Easy to take out and put away.

Not a fan of that tent design. By necessity of its design the poles are thin and flexible (so it can fold in on itself for breakdown) meaning even in light winds it can bwnd and fold on itself. A moderate or heavy wind would blow the outer walls straight into you. If you only ever plan to use in ideal conditions it may be ok though. The one you linked isn't large enough to stand up in, I know that was one of my SOs requirements to go camping, not sure about yours. Dark fabric for blocking sun is becoming more popular, personally I like more mesh for airflow but I have mostly previously camped in hotter areas (recently moved to a colder climate so learning new things lol) If it looks like it fits your needs and will be sufficient for the conditions and is in budget then sounds like it should work!

Absolutely stick with the 3 man you’ve got. I saw several dozen Quechua fresh and black tents (as well as my own). I feel like that speaks for itself.

Have had the standard Quechua blackout and it has honestly been great. You aren't roasting at 9am scrambling to get out the tent.  A 3 man for one person will be absolutely fine. We are a couple and have the 3 man and are looking for a slightly bigger tent now (it is doable but theres basically no space if its two people plus bags) and will likely just stick with the same brand just in a bigger size. It isn't super light but to be honest at this stage I'd rather take the better tent that I can actually get a bit of rest in and deal with the carrying than get a lighter non blackout tent I can't stand being in. Worried about the weight of the bigger one but think it will be a better experience!

I have decathlon fresh&black tents and they are the best, you can sleep around 2 hours longer when the sun comes out and they are relatively cheap while beeing of decent quality. I don't know if you can get them in the states though.

Ive always stayed away from blackout tents because of the lack of ventilation. In fact, I've owned a Quecha (sp) before and it was amazing... except it was hot. When you say "great in hot weather," how hot are we talking? When we camp locally, it doesn't get below 70-75 at night. That made my previous pop-up an oven.

Can concur the fresh&black line with blackout lining is awesome for camping. Have now owned 4 of their tents and they're incredible value for those price points. If you're starting off building up your own camping gear you wont go wrong with their stuff.

Yes! I’ve had my Fresh&Black tent for over three years and I go camping about 30 nights per year. It’s still like new. They’re very cheap, too.

Get a Fresh and Black from Decathlon and call it a day. It’s by far the most acclaimed series of tents on here.

Decathlon tents are solid for the price, but only certain models are really light enough and compact enough for backpacking. The fresh and black tents are good if you have difficulty sleeping, or perhaps you have small kids and need to encourage them to sleep. Personally, they’re not really my thing because I don’t like needing to use my headlamp in the tent in the middle of the day, and I love the feeling of waking up with the sun when camping.
