The xxl quecha with the outside area is the best one. You can cook under the overhang which is much safer than inside on wet days. Great place to store wet items and we use outs alot. Have other tents with no canopy and really miss it. Esp if its raining when you open a door water runs in. With the canopy even if its raining no water will come in. Its also lovely sitting inside with the flap open and looking out at the rain.
Always had success with Decathlon tents, unless you need it lightweight. Their Quechua 6.3 F&B is our go to family tent and it held up using seriously heavy weather and is practical. Great price for what you get as well.
The problem I have with tents like the Berghaus and the 8.4 is that there's no outside porch. In the 6.3 you have a 'messy' porch where you can take off muddy boots and wet clothes, store them on the grass and then step into a 'clean' inside space with a dry floor. We have a similar tent to the 6.3 and when it's raining wet clothes and muddy boots have to come inside. No matter how careful we are, the mud ends up all over the place.
I have the 6.3XL! It's great; but the smaller bedroom is really only big enough for one (assuming they wriggle a bit and/or have cuddly toys they insist on sleeping next to). The larger bedroom at the other end (you can unzip the wall between) is awesome and fitted two adults on decathlon bed bases with a SIM, a collie in a dog bed (he's an escape artist so had to sleep in our bedroom) plus all of the clothes and odds and ends. We had a kitchen set up in the lounge area plus 2 tables (one for adults, one for the kiddo) and 3 chairs and there was still room to play with stomp rockets inside when it was pelting it down with rain 😂 One thing to know with the 6.3 is if you're using the 3rd bedroom the the big door at the end has to stay closed so you'll be using the side door. Not a problem for us (and I prefer it as it's smaller so fewer bugs/less wind gets in!) but something to bear in mind. I do have an older model (picked it up for about half price off Facebook marketplace!) so I've attached a picture of it drying in the garden for reference :) https://preview.redd.it/4d1ghofqovtf1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=851d52aaf1570555d5fb2d4a93235eb2ebea9ded

I bought it off a European family who had been on a great American road trip and didn't want to haul it back across the ocean. This thing is a monster. I'm nearly 6 feet tall and can stand up with plenty of room to spare in the front room. The back room is the sleeping area and is blacked out and nicely dark. I usually camp solo and since it's inflatable I can put it up and take it down in about 15 minutes all by my lonesome. No struggling with poles. Only downside is this sucker weighs like 50lbs 😂 I love it.
It's great! Everything in front of that middle pole is a big front room. It's excellent for shade or rainy days. I know everyone is leery about inflatables but tbh I like the inflatable poles way more than metal ones. They don't break down in a breeze, they just sort of go with the flow.
This! I have an AWESOME Decathlon tent that was a gift. It’s small, but I’m only 1 person and 2 dogs. It doesn’t have poles, so you just unclip 4 clips and viola a fully formed tent! It’s so helpful for when you get to camp a little late and the sun is going or gone. I’ve been using mine for 4 years and it has zero wear on it. There are other copycats but they’re not made nearly as well IMO. Mine is also funny blackout, so you can sleep in a bit.
