I usually travel with an older model Decathlon Black & Fresh Arpenaz 3. It weighs about 3.5 kg and packs down into a fairly bulky bag, but I just carry it in one of my rear panniers. I also own a lightweight one-person tent pretty similar to yours, it’s only 900g, which is great, but I really don’t like that it’s single-walled and that I can’t sit up inside. What I love about the Black & Fresh is that, especially in summer, I’m not woken up at 5 a.m. by the sun lighting up the whole tent. It’s definitely heavier, but for me the comfort is totally worth it.

This was my first festival, I got a Quechua Arpenaz 3XL fresh & black tent from Marketplace months ago for £50, I genuinely don’t know if we’d have survived without it. We do camping regularly, we just use a regular tent (not f&b) and I’m always freezing cold at night, sweating in the morning, and awake at 5am with the sun. The f&b meant I could sleep comfortably with just a sleeping bag (didn’t need to overpack blankets and coats), kept cool in the morning, and was able to sleep until 9am and it was still dark inside. It’s an absolute game changer. The only thing I’d change next time is getting a tent that we can stand in and that has a living room area, like our regular tent. 100% worth the money to get a fresh and black.

Used the 3 person XL model at 2 festivals last summer - great blackout performance and quality material. Looking forward to using it for proper camping trips when it gets a little warmer soon.

We picked up the 3 person non-pop up tent today. Had a little more room than the pop up and will be used for scout trips with my wife and kid. Can't speak to it yet but I've heard generally good things about decathlon tents in general

Absolutely stick with the 3 man you’ve got. I saw several dozen Quechua fresh and black tents (as well as my own). I feel like that speaks for itself.

The Decathlon Black and Fresh tents are really good if you don’t want to be woken up by the sun. I have the 3 person version and recently packed without issues on my rack, but definitely too big to fork mount. I’ve borrowed the Grand Canyon Richmond 1 from a friend and that was a easy fork mount.  With the things you’re looking for the MH100 checks all the boxes, but you’ll probably need to rethink the packing a bit.

Quechua 3 man F&B, non XL version. Perfect size for me and my stuff, didn’t wake up from the heat once, was bliss. Got mine for around £50

Same, 3man Quechua Fresh and Black. Absolute God send. I'm not sure quite how well it'd do in torrential rain but it's definitely a big bonus when it's hot.

>Has anyone tried it before? are you serious? This is basically their best selling tent model. That being said I'd rather spend a little more and get the 2 seconds easy foldable tent (which is a completely different model than the "2 seconds"). I've got the 2P and 3P size and they're vastly superior compared to the MH100 or 2 seconds pop up tents.

I'm not sure if you've got a Decathlon in your country, but they can help you with this purchase. They even have their "fresh and black" tents which stay cooler when the sun hits the tent (worth gold at a festival, basically everybody has these at festivals in my country). Apart from that, I'd get a cheap simple tent for a techno festival. Look into getting a 3-person tent to have some room to store clothes inside it if you are with 2 people and get a tarp for some dry-ish cooking space outside ("3-person" means: 3 sleeping mats will barely fit next to each other in the tent with no room to spare). Tarps can be a bit more difficult to set up properly, but easier to carry than a party tent (which would be your other option. The most lightweight option is to just find some people that brought the party tent and make friends with them. Just take some stuff you can trade for a space under the tent. Actually, thinking about it, just buy food at the place instead of cooking yourself. The festivals I went to hardly required cooking. But I guess that depends on the festival maybe. OK what festival are you going to? Maybe I can watch some footage and tell you what tents people were using there.
