I have a variant and love it. Word to the wise: The EZ-Up has a flat roof under the canopy, but mine has a peaked roof in the center. So it’s important to match the cube tent you buy with the right kind of canopy frame. I need (and have) a “cathedral” frame canopy, and could not use one if it had level crossbars through the middle.
Makes sense! Be careful of the opposite case, though: If instead of an EZ-Up you have a tent like mine where the roof itself is peaked, a "crossbars" canopy won't have room for it.
I have a 4 season Cabelas dome tent. I had a stove pipe access added afterwards. It holds snow well and when the snow slides down to the ground it presses inward. This is the real test of 3 season to 4 season. 3 season tents will bulge and flex. Poles break or release causing problems. I had 2 feet of snow fall over night a few years ago. I didn’t have any issues. All I had to do was go shovel a bit of snow off the sides. My EZcube tent would have collapsed at 6 inches of snow. It is my favorite 3 season tent. I’m 6-5. So I can stand up and get dressed easily. But for rain or snow. It’s useless.
EZup are large enough for your needs. But likely too long. Worth it when it comes to head space
Two tents. One for the adults and two youngest kids. The 3 kids can have their own tent. If size or weight doesn’t matter. Get a E Z up camping cube. For nice weather and low wind. It’s very comfortable and easy to set up with two adults. And you can stand up in it. You may be able to fit everyone in one tent. Not recommended for snow or windy locations. From personal experience.
Ultimate combo is an EzUp cube paired with an ABC Canopy S2. Our family camping setup is a 10x20 S2 with a cube so that we have an extra 10x10 “porch” area. I use this set up at music festivals as well.
An Ez-Up camping cube. 10x10 canopy, the tent hooks to the frame. Easy peasy
We have a Standing Room tent that connects to a 10x10 Straight leg EZup. It’s a good option.
My wife’s go to for glamping. She sets it up like a bedroom, complete with a rug.
It’s not light but worth every pound, check out the EzUp Camp Cube. Takes a 10’x 10’ EzUp and turns it into a 10’x10’ bedroom. Comes with wide enough “door” to blow up your queen size air mattresses outside the tent, and still fit it through the door. Has a doggy door too. And an electrical cord pass through. As sturdy as whatever you stake it down to. Has a ceiling which helps keep you warm and toasty, especially when paired with a Lil’ Buddy tent heater.
I was going to recommend something similar- the EZup camping cube. Absolutely love it. The canopy doesn’t have to be EZUp brand, either.
