Some 2p tents, like the Eureka! Midori 2, have space for packs under the vestibule.

I've had the Midori 2 for at least ten years. Just spent another five nights in it on a river trip. Personally think it's a great tent and Eureka has good support. Sent me a new bag when mine ripped. I believe the newer model is a little different but fundamentally the same.

I had a Eureka Midori II and absolutely loved it! It got lost going through airport luggage a few months ago and I miss it so much. We’ve had enough space in it for two people and a dog, kept us dry in a few rain storms and overall rather light without breaking the budget

I’ve got two Eureka’s (2 and 4 person). The two is from 1995. No issues with either

Okay, kind of weird, but I used to backpack with my Eureka 2 person. Loved it. Still have it just in case I need it. But now I also have kids and dogs and a wife so I needed to make an upgrade. I went from my 2 person - 3 season Eureka backpacking tent to the North Face Wawona 6 and I love it. It's an amazing tent. Used to have 2 small areas on the sides of my Eureka tent for gear/boots - now I have a massive vestibule that fits everything under the sun. Amazing (size) upgrade.

That will be so easy to drop a ton of base weight when you get a good tent. I was at 6 lb 2 person eureka. Got a 3.75 lb MSR Hubba Hubba in 2020. Last 2-3 years I have had the extreme pleasure of carrying the just over 1 lb Durston xmid pro 2. It’s pricy but the regular xmid is much more affordable. And double wall vs single wall of the pro. Nemo Hornet and any of the BA tents are great too.

I didn’t know tents still came with fibreglass poles, I haven’t had one with them since the 80s. The three I’ve bought since then (North Face, MEC, Eureka) have all been aluminum. You could probably just replace the poles of your current tent if you like the tent enough.
