I have a couple of Eureka timber lines 2 and three men really light excellent fiberglass poles elastic. Floor vent. I’ve had them for years. They always succeed.

We have the two and four person (which we use respectively for one and two people, for roomy comfy car camping- not backpacking). They’ve lasted through hundreds of nights in all climates. Yes, it’s gonna get some moisture on the inside of the walls if it’s pouring down rain for hours on end. But these things are tanks. Simple to set up, and just last for a very long time.
r/BuyItForLife • Is there such thing as a “good” tent? ->I didn’t know tents still came with fibreglass poles, I haven’t had one with them since the 80s. The three I’ve bought since then (North Face, MEC, Eureka) have all been aluminum. You could probably just replace the poles of your current tent if you like the tent enough.

r/backpacking • Looking to add a tent to my quiver ->That will be so easy to drop a ton of base weight when you get a good tent. I was at 6 lb 2 person eureka. Got a 3.75 lb MSR Hubba Hubba in 2020. Last 2-3 years I have had the extreme pleasure of carrying the just over 1 lb Durston xmid pro 2. It’s pricy but the regular xmid is much more affordable. And double wall vs single wall of the pro. Nemo Hornet and any of the BA tents are great too.
