Sorry to see Eureka! go. They built solid tents for reasonable prices. I'd put my Timberline 4-person up anything that cost twice as much, especially in a windstorm. I happened on an REI tent-testing session at a local airport some years ago. The testers were tying various tents onto a flatbed trailer, then driving up and down the runway ar speeds varying from 20-50 mph. Testers sat inside the tents to measure deflection and wind noise. If I remember correctly, a North Face got the best score.
r/camping • 2-3 person tent that’s good against high winds ->I also have a Timberline. I had the 2 man and it fell off the back of the motorcycle after owning it for 25 years. I replaced it with the 4 man version. I wish somebody would keep manufacturing them. [Backcountry.com](http://Backcountry.com) has their own brand now, Stoic, and one of the tents is very similar to the Timberline. The downside is that the poles are fiberglass vs. the original aluminum.
r/CampingGear • Looking for recommendation on all season four person tent for scouts ->Absolutely Eureka Timberline 2, 4, or 6… Original, or SQ. They are worth every penny. I fine the 2 man is generally light enough to backpack with. Don’t get me wrong, not “light”, but light enough that it’s doable. Is luxurious if you’re solo…
r/CampingGear • Looking for budget friendly, easy setup A Frame tent like this ->If you like this tent just snag a Eureka Timberline and be happy with a much better tent.
r/camping • I've never wanted a piece of camping equipment like I want this one! ->True but being the standard issue boy scout tent for a very long time means six billion of them exist which makes them much easier to find.
r/camping • I've never wanted a piece of camping equipment like I want this one! ->Eureka is a good brand. I had a Timberline that no storm could penetrate. I agree with others that it's a bit heavy for backpacking.
r/CampingGear • Looking for a tent, this price seems really good but maybe too good to be true. Does anybody here have any experience with this tent/brand? I'm looking to camp in semi-wet/rainy conditions as I live in the Pacific Northwest. any other recommendations besides this product are more than welcome :) ->Been using our Eureka Timberline a-frames for YEARS. We have the two and four person (which we use respectively for one and two people, for roomy comfy car camping- not backpacking). They’ve lasted through hundreds of nights in all climates. Yes, it’s gonna get some moisture on the inside of the walls if it’s pouring down rain for hours on end. But these things are tanks. Simple to set up, and just last for a very long time.
r/BuyItForLife • Is there such thing as a “good” tent? ->Eureka Timberline. They're bombproof and dry as shit.
r/CampingGear • 4 Person Tent Suggestions? ->Alps Mountaineering offers similar value and BSA discounts. Facebook marketplace is full of smoking deals on Eureka tents. I just got a Timberline for $30. It was missing one of the end poles. $16 from eBay got me two of them.
r/CampingGear • Eureka Tents best equivalent ->Same, I’ve had mine since 1995ish and it’s held up great!
r/camping • I've never wanted a piece of camping equipment like I want this one! ->Same - have the green as well! I discovered that tent bc my dad actually had the same one for years, too. It’s a classic.
r/camping • I've never wanted a piece of camping equipment like I want this one! ->eureka timberline, official Boy Scouts tent I could set up in the dark without a light, great in rain
r/camping • Which camping tent is best for 1-2 people? ->Oh I love my Eureka Timberline!! It’s gotta be 22 years old now. Did you hear they sold the company.. 😭😭 Anyway. I just came to appreciate the Eureka!
r/CampingGear • Kelty, Coleman or Big Agnes Tent? ->If you can find it, the Eureka Timberline is an excellent tent that our troop had used for years now. It’s been used in 4 seasons and has an optional vestibule that can store a bunch of gear. There is another tent in that lineup that’s actually rated as 4 season, but having as much experience in the Timberline as I do, I don’t think I’d opt for that one, simply because it costs more. We always used a ground sheet under the tent and one of those reflective emergency tarps with the grommets in the corners (not the cheap ones you’d find in a first aid kit) inside to sleep on top of. Reflective side up, and obviously on our foam pads, but we earned the 12 month campers unit badge for as many years as I was enrolled.
r/CampingGear • Looking for recommendation on all season four person tent for scouts ->The Ozark Trail a-frame tent from Walmart, but the rain fly doesn’t reach all the way to the ground. I have a Eureka Timberline, but purchased secondhand.
r/CampingGear • Looking for budget friendly, easy setup A Frame tent like this ->Yes ,,, believe it or not. I still have my Eureka Timber line. Nice tent. Haven't had it out in a few.
r/camping • I've never wanted a piece of camping equipment like I want this one! ->Is it green rainfly and floor with tan sides. Or Brown. If memory serves, I believe there was an upgraded version that was brown. I've got the old tank of a tent Green.
r/camping • I've never wanted a piece of camping equipment like I want this one! ->I just gave away my 25-year-old eureka timberline on fbmp. Nothing wrong with it except for a few mildew stains. Two trips a year for 25 years since I was a junior in college with no problems. Didn't even really want to give it away but treated myself to a new eureka last Christmas. Hope the new possessor gets as much fun out of it as I did.
r/camping • What’s an easy-to-setup, budget (under $60) tent for two adults? ->That will be so easy to drop a ton of base weight when you get a good tent. I was at 6 lb 2 person eureka. Got a 3.75 lb MSR Hubba Hubba in 2020. Last 2-3 years I have had the extreme pleasure of carrying the just over 1 lb Durston xmid pro 2. It’s pricy but the regular xmid is much more affordable. And double wall vs single wall of the pro. Nemo Hornet and any of the BA tents are great too.
r/backpacking • Just getting started, rate my gear ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
