I second the Featherstone UL Granite 2 person. Great tent with a lot of features that compare with more expensive iterations of the design. Video comparing it to others below. https://youtu.be/stSFZ4ugxTs?si=kBghHCtwW0pkBdQs

I have the featherstone granite 2 person tent and I love it it’s not crazy light weight it’s 5 pounds with all the stakes and footprint but they also have a Trecking pole tent that looks good I would recommend you look at there stuff

Yeah, That MSR is pretty close (Identical?) to the profile that my tent has (Featherstone Granet) and unless the rain is being blown in sideways from exactly the wrong direction,  everything inside stays dry when I open it.

I just used mine this weekend on the AT for my daughter's first section hike (8yo, and she absolutely crushed it).  Worked great!  Good luck!

Man I hoped this was higher up. I've had a featherstone granite 2P since 2022, and it's seen at least eight setups and half of those came with weather. Not a drop inside and outside looks damn near brand new. I just grabbed their backbone trek pole 1P tent, and for 6'4" 200lbs of me, that thing is huge. Part of me wishes to have bought the 2P backbone, which I still may. Their gear is bang for buck top shelf.

My Durston is light and roomy. I started in the 60s. Paring it down isn't easy and sometimes means saying goodbye to old gear friends. I like my Featherstone Granite II, for a self-standing. My first of my own was a Eureka Timberline, the old Boy Scouts tent. NOT light. Somewhat claustrophobic. Much depends on how big you are. I used a Northface Tadpole for a while too.

The Granite 2p is awesome. Unfortunately also somewhat hard to get since it’s popular and sells out quick.

I went for the Granite as well. Seems like a great value for what you get, but this weekend will be the first time I get to see how it holds up in the rain.

Featherstone granite 2p tent. Around $150, 4. Something lbs. super easy set up, can really compress it in the sack it comes with and it includes a footprint
