"It handles inclement weather and strong winds (with the guylines staked down) very well"
"very durable. ... I had mine up in gusting winds and it withstood the elements"
"We’ve had ours for going on 4 plus years I think… ... Been great in numerous types of weather."

"The footprint of the floor is a square for the T4 hub tent, so you should find the available space easy to work with, even with mattress. ... We have the T4 plus, which is just two squares with a room divider. We use cots and there is room for 5 and the dogs."
"not 4 sided. That way you can setup a table in the middle and still get around, or set up multiple tables on the walls with tons of room."
"I like to have the room and be able to stand or sit in it with a chair shoud it be raining, all while having my pad and bags in there."

"I can tell you I just used a gazelle tent in Ottawa last week for six nights with tons of mosquitoes and biting horse flies and everything and not a single bug in my tent at all."
"Hahaha I have never experienced that. It’s a regular tent that is waterproof and rainproof, let alone bug proof."

"I saw over a dozen gazelles that totally failed during a storm at an Overland event two years ago. ... They did not hold up well at all. ... Guy lines were used etc, but they were some of the worst fairing tents among them all. ... I was a volunteer and had to go around taking stock of the damage and help people and after that I would not buy one of their tents. ... I was a volunteer at an overland rally two years ago and saw a bunch of gazelle tents fail in a wind storm. ... It was wild. they were the worst failing tents of all the tents there. ... esp if they are going to fail in bad weather."
"You have to make sure to guy out the hubs in strong winds, and the more horizontal the guy line can be the better, or else wind can collapse the hub. I'm taking 15-20mph plus wind. Was in 30-40mph gusts and it held up, but I'd guyed out the hub the direction the wind was coming from with two guy lines, each as horizontal as I could get them, 45 degrees from each other."
"Oh, and I ditched the stakes that came with it and instead use heavy, all metal spike stakes."

"it is HUGE when folded down for storage transport ... You need to have a large SUV or a roof rack to transport this thing."
"The only problem I have with it is its size when packed up in its bag. It can be a pain if you don't have a truck or van to transport it."
"Downside it’s heavy and big. ... Like the size of a small person in the bag. ... And I think it weighs maybe 30 some pounds."

"the mesh is so tight that the ventilation is horrible in temps over 70."
"My beef with nearly all nylon tents is how they collect condensation. ... I’ve had 5 people and 2 dogs in the Gazelle. All of that breathing made the inside pretty wet."

"mine had a bunch of needle holes that I needed to seal ... Also some loose stitching ... Not very well made for roughly $400 in cost."
"2 out of 4 metal sheath ends for the rain fly poles went loose into the dirt."
"The silver exterior will wear and you'll soon have moisture ingress."

"I did have an issue with water seeping in during very heavy downpour. I'm taking several inches of rain in an hour downpour. It would soak in through the stitches around the hubs, and also where the interior mesh bags are on the sides."

Easy to setup Quality and durability have never been an issue for me or people I know. I'm sure someone somewhere will be like "they are junk". Condensation control is going to depend on the weather as there is plenty of vents. Might be better off with 2 T4's from Gazelle.
r/CampingGear • Looking for a new tent in 2025 ->We have a Gazelle T-Hex. Just wife and I. We like the single, large room so we can set our queen bed up and have ample room on 3 sides. Even room for the camp chairs inside if bad weather. It measures about 12' across and even more tied down. Never had a spot it didn't fit.
r/camping • is it normal to bring a 12 or 10 person tent for a couple? ->We have a two Gazelle tents (one one-room and one two-room) and their gazebo. They are a breeze to set up and definitely not a gimmick!
r/CampingGear • Are instant up tents a gimmick? ->I would suggest two tents then. We have a massive Gazelle tent and it is geared for 4-8 people but if I had to share it, I would only say four people comfortably with our stuff inside the tent too. It sounds like you have a pop up tent too? These will always be long and bulky because of what they are. Our old tent was very compact when packed up but was not a pop up and took longer to set up. My husband hates the size and weight of the Gazelle but it is the trade off of ease of setting up/breaking down that he gets for it. I think your idea to go bigger to fit more people inside a tent is not ideal if you are already worried about the size of your current tent.
r/camping • Tent suggestions! ->I have a Gazelle 4x4 tent with one of the burliest floor systems I’ve encountered. Even if I paid retail I would be happy.
r/overlanding • [deleted by user] ->If packed up space and relatively large weight is not bad then consider a hub style tent. I like my Gazelle Overland edition. The doors are a little tricky getting in and out but in all other regards (setup and takedown) it seems like that would be a good fit.
r/camping • Tent recommendations for a couple of senior gentleman? ->Bought mine from Amazon. Apparently the green color T4 and the blue overland are available at REI
r/CampingGear • Recommendations for a car camping tent for two people that you can stand up in. $500 budget. ->Lol. No, we aren't bots. You'll see really positive reviews outside of reddit as well, including video reviews on YT. The biggest draw is the ease of set-up. It's so nice to have it up in literally 1-2 minutes. But also the height all throughout the tent makes for a wonderful camping experience. I actually enjoy hanging out in my tent. It also feels sturdier than most tents but would definitely need guy lines in windy conditions. The only problem I have with it is its size when packed up in its bag. It can be a pain if you don't have a truck or van to transport it. Not everyone likes the door but I have no issues with it.
r/CampingGear • Recommendations for a car camping tent for two people that you can stand up in. $500 budget. ->I’ve been camping for 30 years and I’m a huge fan of our Gazelle brand pop up. With little kids including a baby who doesn’t like to be put down, it’s a huge time saver!
r/camping • Best pop up tent? ->Hahaha I have never experienced that. It’s a regular tent that is waterproof and rainproof, let alone bug proof.
r/camping • Best pop up tent? ->We had a trunk tent for almost 2 years. The main thing we couldn't get over was the limited airflow. Ended up hardly ever using it attached the vehicle. Once it fell apart, we went with a pop up tent like a gazelle for ease of setup and best of all, not 4 sided. That way you can setup a table in the middle and still get around, or set up multiple tables on the walls with tons of room.
r/overlanding • Thoughts on Kelty Caboose or Napier Sports SUV tents? ->Honestly if you are planning having 4 people in a tent, then I would get a really good ground tent like a gazelle or something similar. You will be able to have a better mattress and it's just as easy to set up. Also, on the trips when it's just you I would get a second smaller tent for just you. Roof tents are cool but there is always a tradeoff. Ground tents are a fraction of the cost and allow more options.
r/rooftoptents • Best 4-person tent? ->I love my Gazelle. From the inside, it has a smiling face. https://preview.redd.it/q1pj3tjxh9de1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=76c1a899f46a5a1e9502a4754044d726496ff4b3
