"The overland edition has fantastic stakes. ... They’re tough and I could even hammer them into some solid Ontario ice. ... Not too far, but they took the punishment."
"it's going to last us 20 years!"
"Highly recommend the Gazelle T4, I've been using it for ~5 years now and it's holding up great."

"sets up insanely fast. ... And realistically I'll have it up and fully staked out with guy lines in about 5 minutes."
"sets up in under 3 min including stake out time. ... Take down is just as fast and it fits in its storage bag with out much fuss. ... set up in under 90 seconds 120 if you putting in stakes."
"setup/breakdown is a 10/10"

"I've only camped in it in a rain twice. One was a friendly little shower, the other was a flash flood. In both instances, rain never infiltrated the tent."
"The ground tarp is amazing. ... Winter camping would have been terrible without that. ... When I had a constant run of meltwater under the tent, it was still good inside with that tarp under me."
"Been in some nasty weather and is excellent. ... never leaks"

"super stable when staked out. ... Was camping once and crazy winds kicked up. Friend in RTT had to close it and other friends smaller tent was blowing flat over. We played cards all afternoon in the Gazelle, no problem."
"I’ve been winter camping with wind and snow. Experienced a rainstorm so severe that I could hear nothing but the rain. ... it’s been great in everything else."

"the packed size, it's fkn big ... You really need to be sure you can fit it in your car or be prepared to strap it to the top. ... When I had a Jeep, it BARELY fit! Bottom right corner. When I shut the tailgate, it would nudge it and that was having to move the passenger seat up as far as I could and still be able to sit in the seat."
"It's about the size of 12 by 12 popup shelter folded up."
"folded up. It ’s so long that you pretty much need to put it on the roof of your vehicle on your crossbars."

"Also one time we got maybe 2 or 3 inches of rain in a downpour and some water leaked in through the hubs. I've since put seam seal on the stitching over the hubs after that to hopefully help."
"the fly is not long enough to cover the hub. ... One time we got over 2 inches of rain in two hours. The T4 fly dumped all that rain right on top of the hub and it started to soak through pretty bad. Had drips inside with not a ton of water but maybe half an ounce to an ounce of water below each hub. Used some t-shirts to sop it up/catch it so it wouldn't get sleeping bags wet."
"The only issue with Gazelle is in severe downpour (around 2.5 inches in an hour) the stitching around the hub. ... The roof fly dumps water off right onto that hub."

"If not guyed out, wind will collapse the side of a gazelle tent pretty easily."
"In winds, you'll want to stake down the sides or they'll blow in (this is from the experience)."
"Another concern is high winds. I have used it in steady winds up to 25 mph with higher gusts, but I had to tie out the hubs with guy lines, using two lines per hub to give better holding power, and also I swapped out the stakes to more heavy duty all metal spikes which I bring a hammer to hammer into the ground."

"The stakes do suck"
It's worked for me. I can see the door design being a pain for people. It has kept out light rain and dew. As far as bugs....you're camping. I would just work my way around the perimeter of the tent and make sure that the velcro is seated together.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->Your not alone I literally just got mines last week set it up in the backyard and a spider crawled in I spent $700 and they’re telling me to duct tape the seams like why tf would I put duct tape on a brand new $700 tent ????
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I have not have problems with bugs getting into my Gazelle. Maybe OP needs to leave the food outside the tent.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->Take the floor off to use as an ice fishing tent or have a concrete/dirt floor available for whatever reason.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->The largest gap is where the zippers meet though.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->Finally pulled the trigger on a Gazelle T4 Overland Edition. I love it! So easy to put up. I also upgraded to a cot this year. Finally realized camping isn't a competition sport on who can suffer the most! I still try to camp light but due to age and health, I've had to add some comfort items. Below are a few pics of the many trips I've made this year. I mainly primitive/disperse camp deep in the forest next to creeks in the panhandle of Florida.
r/camping • Camping 2025 new Gazelle ->I like to blend in with the environment. Sometimes I stealth camp and really don't want to be seen. I know the darker color may get hotter in the summer but I don't camp in the summer! LOL 😆 Gazelle was out of the Alpine Green for almost a year. I waited till they came back in stock. I had a nice REI tent so I wasn't in hurry but I did want a Gazelle ASAP.
r/camping • Camping 2025 new Gazelle ->Have you looked into the Gazelle tents? I have a T4 and love it. It's a bit on the heavy side but if you're overlanding it will fit the bill nicely. r/overlanding • Tent Recommendations ->I think it works really well for my needs. I’m always impressed with how big it is and how absolutely easy it is to pack and unpack. It has stood up to snow, frost and rain and especially wind. Single wall tents are not perhaps the absolute best choice for downpour conditions but using a well fitted ground cloth should help. I appreciate how durable the material is especially the floor. I would never undo the floor due to other reviewers but why would you do that anyway? Yes, the little step thru door takes getting used to, but it maximizes the amount of pockets that you can have as well as minimizing the amount of zipper malfunctions on a large walk-through door. Not suggesting fraud, but REI sells some of those tents if you got it as a “gift”.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I don’t understand how a bug could get through that Velcro if it’s completely sealed. It’s really heavy duty. OP did it to clean the tent I think but I always use a dustpan and shake it out after. I didn’t think of running a cord thru as another poster said but that would be such a small opening. It would be nice to have a vestibule add on, if you have any tips on that I’m all ears.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I got a big tent and I love it so much. It's more about the height than the width though. I'm 6'3 and can stand up in it. Such a breeze to put up too. 4 person Gazelle HUB tent.
r/camping • Any reason not to get a bigger tent. ->Giselle T4. It’s the only way to car camp and I can stand in it at 6’2” great for cots and sets up in under 3 min including stake out time. Take down is just as fast and it fits in its storage bag with out much fuss. Been in some nasty weather and is excellent.
r/camping • Recommendations for a tent for two cots ->Oh it’s not small packed at all!!! A true car camping tent. But it’s great quality never leaks and set up in under 90 seconds 120 if you putting in stakes. Is great. I have about 5-6 tents now and do far more backpacking than car camping these days but. But when my son was in cub scouts it was a dream. Now that he is in boy scouts I use it so much less. Still for what it does it does super well
r/camping • Recommendations for a tent for two cots ->gazelle T4 - heavy as hell but it sets up in 60 seconds I can stand up inside 6’2” Enough roof for four people enough zip open windows for summer ventilation and robust enough for snow on top
r/CampingGear • Looking for recommendation on all season four person tent for scouts ->Came here to say the same. I love my 4 person Gazelle. Easy to put up / take down & plenty of room for glamping. I use mine when car camping & outfit it with a cot, memory foam pad, bedding, wire drawer dresser from costco, small table, chair and a rug. lol, it’s a lot and I only do it if staying 3+ nights but so much fun. BTW, the Gazelle is super stable when staked out. Was camping once and crazy winds kicked up. Friend in RTT had to close it and other friends smaller tent was blowing flat over. We played cards all afternoon in the Gazelle, no problem.
r/camping • Tent you can stand in comfortably ->love my gazelle! I have the T4 too and use it just for myself when car glamping!!! Cot/bed, table, dresser, chair, rug - it’s so awesome and easy to put up. Gazelle even has double tents for more people.
r/camping • Family tent recommendations ->I have a Gazelle 4x4 tent with one of the burliest floor systems I’ve encountered. Even if I paid retail I would be happy.
r/overlanding • [deleted by user] ->We have a T4. It’s good in wind and rain, but I hate the corner door and how bulky and heavy it is. My husband loves it and got it after a windstorm destroyed our previous tent. We’ve had it for a couple of years and it’s holding up fine.
r/camping • Are Gazelle Tents worth it? ->We got one after a windstorm destroyed our Coleman. My husband loves it, but I’m very meh on it. We do have very different camping styles though, with him being a more of a glamper. It’s really heavy and bulky, and as the OP mentioned, the corner door is super awkward. While it’s nice that you can fully stand in it, and it is pretty easy to set up, I’d be fine with a smaller dome style. I also don’t like that there isn’t a meaningful vestibule over the doors, which means that rain can get in the lower part of the door easily and there isn’t a protected outside space for gear that you might not want in the tent. Yes it stands up to wind, but that’s really its main benefit IMO.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->Yes I know that we could suspend a tarp over the tent for better rain coverage, but that is pretty contradictory to the Gazelle’s easy setup selling point.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I have been waiting for probably a decade for them to make a non-removable floor…. Spoiler … I’m still waiting! I think it’s just dumb, I would guess less than 20% of their customers actually want to deal with taking the removable floor out and then spend even more time trying to put it back on correctly. Why? I’m with you OP “Say No to Bugs” the floor is a deal breaker. Here is a tip for management. I’m sure it would probably be cheaper for you to manufacture these tents without the removable floor so pass that saving on to the customer … or keep the savings and increase the company’s margins!
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I have one and love it. 100% worth the investment. Best tent I have ever owned and will probably be the last tent I will ever need or want. The only downside to me is the packed size, it's fkn big, You really need to be sure you can fit it in your car or be prepared to strap it to the top. When I had a Jeep, it BARELY fit! Bottom right corner. When I shut the tailgate, it would nudge it and that was having to move the passenger seat up as far as I could and still be able to sit in the seat. https://preview.redd.it/bzxbpveby8oe1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fede1d206d04f2f76db8424f42debfbed846d4ee
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->I've had 5 tents in the last 13yrs. Two for moto camping and 3 for car camping. The T4 is the best tent I have ever owned. Can bugs get in, yes. You're outdoors, that is going to happen. Hook and loop floor, I've not had a single issue and that is even while having an electrical cord pulled through. Rain, much rain, no leak. The door, it's a tent. Lastly, refusing to use amazon because you can't return? That seems a little off. Even my 76yr old mother finds returning things super simple. Put it back in the box, drop it off at UPS store. And that is in a very small town.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I have one, maybe an older model because it’s a different pattern. I haven’t had the leaky rain fly as others mentioned, even in some pretty heavy rains. It doesn’t pack up small at all though. I haven to put a seat down in my Outback to fit it in the trunk. I’ve considered strapping it to the roof rack to save room. My wife and I love it though. So easy to put up and take down. The floor and the walls didn’t have condensation all over like cheaper tents. Having windows on all four walls is my favorite to appease my anxiety, no blind spots. Just don’t expect to hike in very far with it. It is long and heavy.
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->We've had our Gazelle for 6 years now and used it in a severe thunderstorm just this April. Not a single leak. When I had a Coleman tent there were many leaks. Also we have never had a bug problem even in the deep woods. I'm wondering if you just got a defective tent. I think you've got a hole in your tent or something. The tent is much better than your experience would have people think.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I am glad you have had a better experience. It leaked. It was too small for me. The door was a total pain. I would never remove the floor either, but that was one of the reasons I purchased it, only to find out that it allowed bugs in the tent. I didn't even use those pockets. It was easy to put up and take down. However, the Coleman instant tent I had for 13 years prior was just as easy and a fraction of the price :)
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I didn't have the plus. I am glad you had a better experience than I did. I found several bugs. There was one in my bed and several on the floor. I have been camping at that same location for 20 years and never had a bug in my tent. I didn't remove the floor at all, it came straight from the manufacturer. I assumed attached?
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I'm glad you have had a better experience. In 20 years of camping at that same campground, I have never had bugs inside my tent. Other than flies. I never said I refuse to use Amazon because I can't return. I do not and will not use Amazon. It has nothing to do with their return policy. The cost of shipping it back was the issue because the manufacturer does not cover the cost of a return. That is why I mentioned buying locally.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I thought it was such a great feature. I thought that finally I would be able to get all the dirt out. Once I was using it and realized that bugs could get in, I thought there was no way I was taking this off because I would never get it back on correctly. So the top feature for why I purchased it became the useless feature I didn't like. I tried and did not like :)
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I returned it, too many negatives for the price ;) I know there are bugs when camping, but in my tent and in my bed hasn't happened in 20 years at that same campground.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I thought it was going to be a great feature. I was wrong. :)
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->100% agree. Seemed like a good idea until I had it. No necessary.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->They were a pain that I supposed I would eventually get used to if it wasn't for all the other issues.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->Thanks for the compliment! I have no idea who you are, so you do not know "not understanding the tent and how to setup camp." The bugs in the tent happen because the floor is attached by Velcro and not sealed. The door design is a personal preference and has nothing to do with the setup, it was an opinion. Leaking is also due to poor design. It's an instant tent, there is only one way to put it up. I have since found that others have complained about all of these same things, so it would seem that it is a product issue.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I had a Coleman tent that I used for the past 13 years with no issues until the zipper broke. It was an instant tent, tall, no bugs, no leaks, and plenty of room. I suppose my expectations were high considering my experience with my Coleman and the price of this tent. I am used to the outdoors, but I still don't want bugs or water in my bed. I'm not sure why people are getting so heated. I posted my experience so others will be more prepared. If I had known all that I do now, I would not have purchased it. Someone else mentioned other brands, so im going to do more research and wait to buy until after the season. It will be locally purchased, and it won't be this brand.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->You keep claiming words I have not used. There's not much I can do if you don't like my attitude because that's your perception. As I already have said, I'm glad you have had a better experience than I have, that's great. The water soaked bedding, so no, there were no puddles. I posted my opinion and experience, take it, or leave it. It seems like you are the one freaking out or anxiety prone. It is possible for people to have different experiences. Have a blessed day.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->Maybe I did. I used a Coleman for 13 years with no issues, and it was only 129 bucks. I think that is why I was so shocked and disappointed after paying 420 for this one. I'm glad others have had good experiences. I have not and am searching for a different tent now.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->Absolutely the Gazelle T4. It honestly changed camping for me. I'm always excited to get out and use it, and it's a tent I enjoy being in with its many windows and open view of the stars (without the rainfly). It literally goes up within 2 minutes (without the rainfly); you just walk around and pop each side out. And a 6ft person can easily walk around inside of it, fully standing. The material is tough. The only drawback is that it is larger than most tents when packed up. Note: I have not tried it in the rain. Use the guy lines for windy nights.
r/camping • Car camping tent recommendations ->Good to know! I've seen mixed reviews around this, but it seems that any leaking into the tent isn't extreme.
r/camping • Car camping tent recommendations ->You know you don't have to remove the floor...Keep it velcro-ed and wipe out the floor just like any other. I've never had a problem with bugs getting into my tent. I stayed at an ant-infested site in Tahoe with ants crawling all around the outside of my tent with a single ant getting in (probably hitched a ride in from my pant leg). I'd take this over the dozens of other less comfortable tents out there in the same price range that have me crawling around on my hands and knees, worming into clothes while laying down and sorting out poles through 20+ minutes of set-up. No, the gazelle is absolutely worth whatever imagined struggle comes with a removable floor. I wouldn't recommend the door entrance for older individuals, but then, I know some older individuals that love this tent for its easy set-up and take down (who say it gives them a chance to tent camp again at their age). There's a reason so many people rave about it. And with good things come people that want to be different and critique them.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->It's an awesome tent, honestly. I love whenever I get a chance to use it. There are dozens more glowing posts and comments about this tent on this subreddit than these occasional negative ones... With the ability to set it up in under 2 minutes (excluding rainfly and stakes), the freedom to stand up completely in it, numerous windows, and good quality material, I don't see how anyone could hate it as much as OP does here. Not a very fair review.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->Strange to hear that you had puddles on the floor of your tent after so many others have had zero problems with it in extreme rain and wind. Might you have accidentally cut a hole in the tent? Did you have the rainfly on and the windows up?
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->Well, for one your attitude isn't pleasant. And as many people here have stated, they've had absolutely zero issues with this tent (that rings true for me as well). Similar to the experience of others in this thread, this has well-surpassed the Coleman tents that we've virtually all tried in the past. My Gazelle made me enjoy camping again. So a review like this is entirely unbalanced with your assertions that it is just pure trash. I've had mine for three years now and the only complaint I have about it is it's size when packaged up. Even the less obvious door makes me feel safer at night from predatory humans. I have no idea what you did to get bugs all over your bed. Maybe shake yourself off before going into your tent at night. Check your shoes and legs for any insects crawling up your leg (it happens). Check the items that you're moving into your tent at the end of the night. Did your camping gear get bugs in it when stored away in the garage? Water in your bed sounds an exaggeration given your above admission, "there were no puddles". Either it's dripping enough to give rise to puddles (including water collecting and absorbing into your bed) or it is not. Was it a bug infestation or was it a single bug you found that could plausibly have hitched a ride in on your back? My impression is that you're just freaking yourself out and over-exaggerating every little thing. Perhaps current times just have you more anxiety-prone than in the past.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->You asked why everyone here was so “heated”. So no, you know it’s not just me perceiving you as off.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->Wow. Sorry you got something that didn't work for you. We've had the T4 for years and love it. It's been thru rain and snow with no leak problems (if you zip the doors up, to the top). We've never taken the floor off, as we figured it would be difficult to get back on perfectly. I totally agree on the "buy local" angle.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I bought mine over a year ago, and no regrets. It feels like a small cabin instead of a tent. Goes up in a flash, and after some trial-and-error, I can repack it pretty quickly, too. I'm 5'11 and I can stand up in it fully.
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->Congrats, I have the same setup. The cot/mattress is one of the heaviest and most cumbersome parts of my gear loadout, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I have a 4" memory foam mattress that I use with it, and it sleeps like a comfortable bed. Be sure and open some vents before you fire up that Buddy heater. It'll turn your Gazelle into a greenhouse otherwise, lol. We camped down in White Springs when that artic blast came through Florida. It was average of 25F the nights we were there. That Buddy probably saved me from hypothermia. First night I fired it up and it was toasty in there. Woke up in the middle of the night and everything was soaked. It felt like it was raining from all the condensation.
r/camping • Camping 2025 new Gazelle ->No, no issues with bugs at all. I've only detached the floor once since I've owned the tent. That Velcro enclosure is pretty strong.
r/camping • Camping 2025 new Gazelle ->I’ve got the orange one and love it. Cheers.
r/camping • Camping 2025 new Gazelle ->It’s so easy to put up and take down. And the 4 person tent is super spacious. I’ve had one for about 7 years now and it has inspired several of our friends to get one. The 4 person tent is still too big to put in a trunk when it’s folded down… it’s easier to manage strapped to a roof rack, but the 3 person version will fit in the back of a midsize suv just fine.
r/camping • Tent you can stand in comfortably ->I have the orange version, used in Vermont last fall, pouring rain all night, I was completely dry inside. https://preview.redd.it/dfrt3wgyuaoe1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=02a5cb29f15c968124d0e921bc68398125ddc0be
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->Got this tent a as a gift years ago very durable and amazing to set up and tear down. Always catches people's attention how quick you set it up.
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->I've had mine for 8 to 10 years now. Probably my best camping investment. It's easy to setup. I like the full walls. It keeps the breeze out but a big gust can fold the wall in.. So plan accordingly. I haven't had a leak yet. I've had it in some nasty high Sierra weather and it held up well. Very sturdy construction. It came in handy on some of our overland trips. My biggest issues are the size and how dirty I get while muscling it back in the bag. It's about the size of 12 by 12 popup shelter folded up. I see them out a lot now. I've used it over a hundred nights at this point.
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->We have the Gazelle T4 hub. Got it in 2018 and have used it a handful of times every summer since, with two kids who aren't exactly easy on it. WE LOVE IT! It goes up in literally like 10 seconds, it's super tall so it feels very roomy, and it's well designed (nice pockets and window shades and things like that). We can easily fit our queen size mattress, a baby travel crib, a kid's sleeping bag/pad, and luggage/bags. Nothing is breaking at all \*knock on wood\* We live somewhere pretty arid, so we haven't tested it in much rain. Holds up well in the wind, all things considered. It's tall so it does get buffeted around, but nothing crazy. We've staked out the guylines when it was particularly windy, and that helped a lot.
r/camping • Are Gazelle Tents worth it? ->We've used our Gazelle T4 for 7 years, including adding two kids to the mix, and it's held up really well! I really love how quick it is. I don't think we have the removable floor, that does sound a little sketchy.
r/camping • Buyer Beware Gazelle T4 Overland Edition Tent ->I have a T4 and their gazebo. Both have been great in all weather and easy set up and take down. The only downside to them is how long they are packed up. Makes it a bit harder to stay minimal when packing in and out.
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->Unless you have an 8’ bed it will be too small. Get a Gazelle: Easy set up and break down with a much more durable floor (for dogs nails).
r/camping • Truck bed tent or stand-alone tent? ->Started with the t3 and liked it so much I got a T4 as well.
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->I hate setting up camp. So this was a big win for me, because I can have this setup in just a few minutes. I can take it down in about 2 minutes as well. I haven't had issues with bugs, I make sure the floor is attached well with the velcro. Lots of space, but there are draw backs. It's big and heavy, it is pretty expensive, and the door is a trip hazard. For me, I enjoy it but do plan to also buy a smaller, lighter tent in the future to have more space for other items.
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->I have the Gazelle. The doors suck. But whatever that tent is looks like utter garbage. Not even the same class from the pictures. And usually the pictures try to gloss over. I am assuming you are selling these as they look like a dumpster fire dropship item.
r/camping • Timber Ridge instant pop up hub vs Gazelle T4? ->It is just as quick to set up and take down as its reputation implies. Getting it back in the carry bag can be challenging. It can hold a queen size air mattress with room left over on one side. I’m 6’3” and I can stand fully upright inside at the center. Packed it is a rigid 67” x 8” x 8”, there’s no fudging it into a smaller space. All in all, for car camping I consider it money well spent.
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->Not for my. Several times under heavy Rain and was great
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->I can second this as a T4 owner. While I don’t know if my experience would be different if I wasn’t using their footprint, but the first time I ever used mine, I was in a torrential thunderstorm for at least an hour while at a sporting event 30min away from the campground. Once the games resumed and ended, I got back to camp at midnight surely thinking my tent would be flooded- sucker was bone dry while everything around it was sopping wet.
r/camping • Timber Ridge instant pop up hub vs Gazelle T4? ->100% worth it. I’ve got a T4 and G5? gazebo and I love them both. I can’t comment on high winds but it seems like someone has you covered there. I’ve never been in a situation where I had to guy out the tent. First year I owned it, I was at a sporting event and a massive storm rolled through. Tons of thunder, lightning, and torrential rain and came back to a bone dry tent at 1am. I did purchase the footprint for it as well and always use it, I’m sure that helps too. Even this year for that same even, lots of rain one day but tent stayed dry and the only water that was inside was from me going in and out. My biggest gripe is definitely the door. I’m constantly making sure I’m lifting up my feet so I don’t trip.
r/camping • Are Gazelle Tents worth it? ->u/ResidentNo4630 u/Loose_Mission_8559 As a T4 owner, and I can't tell if OP is using the T3 footprint, I've just came back from a rather rainy camp last week and was kept dry using my T4 footprint. Same thing for my first ever outing ever with it- I was at a sporting event camping a half hour away and almost didn't use it. A torrential storm rolled through and delayed the first game(they were both in the evening) and got back to my tent and midnight bone dry. I can't relate to u/Mayday-J though as I've never had water seep through the seams. Any water I've had enter the tent has been from my body, clothing, or just getting in the tent. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to buy any Gazelle tent again for car camping. It's by far been my favorite experience in my 33 years of life.
r/camping • Gazelle t4 overland ->Ah, I read it a T3 for some reason. I’m gonna blame them on marketing as that’s the color I personally see them advertising a T3 most lol. Fair enough though. I do love seeing more and more gazelles being post here. This sub 5yrs ago is actually what turned me on to them lol.
r/camping • Gazelle t4 overland ->This tent can be set up in less than 90 seconds, making it very quick and easy.
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->I have this one and the double. We have had no issues of leaking in the rain/thunderstorm. I never noticed any more bugs than we had in other tents. We love them due to the ease of putting up and taking down!
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->We have a two Gazelle tents (one one-room and one two-room) and their gazebo. They are a breeze to set up and definitely not a gimmick!
r/CampingGear • Are instant up tents a gimmick? ->I have a T4, T4+, and gazebo. We love them. They are huge and heavy which is not ideal when it comes to packing up all three for a camping trip. But we do love the easy set up and take down. We have not really gotten rain when we camp. The one or two times, it has been completely dry (besides some condensation on the floor but that goes for any tent).
r/camping • Are Gazelle Tents worth it? ->I would suggest two tents then. We have a massive Gazelle tent and it is geared for 4-8 people but if I had to share it, I would only say four people comfortably with our stuff inside the tent too. It sounds like you have a pop up tent too? These will always be long and bulky because of what they are. Our old tent was very compact when packed up but was not a pop up and took longer to set up. My husband hates the size and weight of the Gazelle but it is the trade off of ease of setting up/breaking down that he gets for it. I think your idea to go bigger to fit more people inside a tent is not ideal if you are already worried about the size of your current tent.
r/camping • Tent suggestions! ->Bought this a few years ago and i absolutely love it! It sets up so fast. The only cons for me is the size of it when it’s all folded up, but I just throw it on the roof of the the rig when traveling.
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->I LOVE it and it's held up amazingly, even in significant rain storms. My priority is to minimize set up and tear down time, while being able to stand up fully inside, and it's amazing on all of those points. People always talk smack about the rain fly, but I honestly wonder how many of them have actually used it in rain or if some are just judging based on appearance. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ I've had it in 1 moderate rain storm, two heavy rain storms, and one absolutely crazy, 6-hour thunderstorm downpour. In both the heavy storms friends in other, well regarded, tent brands had leakage, and we had none. In the thunderstorm, we had some leaking through the zipper of the door we weren't using. The next morning I discovered that one of the zipper flaps had gotten stuck folded all the way up, leaving that zipper completely unprotected. I'm sure if I'd thought about checking it, we'd have been able to solve that problem and eliminate the leaking.
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->The way it zips open it has to avoid the pop up poles so you have to step into the tent by stepping over a maybe 8" high bottom of the zipper. I have a T4 and it's great most of the time. It's susceptible to wind so you have to stake it out well and also use guy lines from the hubs as I've used it in windy Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota, etc. Also one time we got maybe 2 or 3 inches of rain in a downpour and some water leaked in through the hubs. I've since put seam seal on the stitching over the hubs after that to hopefully help.
r/camping • Best pop-up tent? ->I have a Gazelle T4. It fits just barely length wise in my Thule Pulse rooftop box. I also have a large duffle in there with the sleeping pads, sleeping bags etc. The only issue with Gazelle is in severe downpour (around 2.5 inches in an hour) the stitching around the hub. The roof fly dumps water off right onto that hub. I’ve coated the stitching around there with seam seal so hopefully they will reduce the issue.
r/overlanding • Car Tent Recommendations? ->When I take my two kids camping we use to use a Coleman Sundome for a couple years but I got so tired of having to set it up and tear it down that I got a Gazelle T4 tent and I've been very happy with the ease of setting it up alone in under 90 seconds
r/camping • Any reason not to get a bigger tent. ->Size and ease of setup. I use a Gazelle T4 because it really does set up in one minute. Storage size is large but it'll fit easily either in the back of my SUV or in my Thule rooftop box.
r/CampingGear • What do you personally look for in a car camping tent? ->Yeah on long trips I store my T4 in my Thule rooftop box which is just long enough to hold it. It also holds my bags with sleeping bags and pads too. For quick overnights it fits in the back of my SUV with the back seat down.
r/CampingGear • What do you personally look for in a car camping tent? ->I've used it for dozens and dozens of nights. Only issue I had was one night when we got over 2 inches of rain. The rain started to seep through the stitching at the hubs. After that I applied some seam seal to them and I think that has resolved the issue. Another concern is high winds. I have used it in steady winds up to 25 mph with higher gusts, but I had to tie out the hubs with guy lines, using two lines per hub to give better holding power, and also I swapped out the stakes to more heavy duty all metal spikes which I bring a hammer to hammer into the ground. No issues when I stake it out like this.
r/CampingGear • Best 4p Tent for regular camping? ->I can only give my experience with my Gazelle. Overall it is great, and I've used it for over 40 nights over the past two years. I did have an issue with water seeping in during very heavy downpour. I'm taking several inches of rain in an hour downpour. It would soak in through the stitches around the hubs, and also where the interior mesh bags are on the sides. I put seam seal on all of these and it helped a lot - instead of a drip it just gets slightly damp to the touch. No issues with seams around the zippers at all. I would buy it again. Oh, and I ditched the stakes that came with it and instead use heavy, all metal spike stakes. You have to make sure to guy out the hubs in strong winds, and the more horizontal the guy line can be the better, or else wind can collapse the hub. I'm taking 15-20mph plus wind. Was in 30-40mph gusts and it held up, but I'd guyed out the hub the direction the wind was coming from with two guy lines, each as horizontal as I could get them, 45 degrees from each other.
r/camping • Best hub tents? "Pop up/instant" options worth researching similar to gazelle? ->Honestly I'm not sure. There's been some posts recently about quality control issues with Gazelle, but that may only be anecdotal evidence. I bought my Gazelle T4 in early spring 2024 and have used it for around 40 nights. It's been great but there's a couple small issues. First, in super heavy downpour (more than an inch per hour) it would soak through around the hubs and also where the mesh bags are sewn into the sides. I put seam seal on the seams of the hub and the mesh bags on the outside and this reduced the amount that soaks through but 90% (and it would only soak through in torrential downpours.) Also wind is an issue, I'm talking about 20+ mph winds - the hub will collapse in fairly easily if not guyed out. The more horizontal you can guy out the hubs the better, and in high winds I'll guy it out with two lines at 45 degree angles from the tent. When I guy it out well, the tent hub hasn't collapsed in 30+ mph winds.
r/camping • Are Gazelle Tents worth it? ->I didn’t put a tarp over it but in the almost 40 nights in the tent it’s only rained that hard twice. The first time there was a dribble of water from the hub seams I had to sop up with an extra t-shirt. After seam seaming it was damp to the touch but not dripping. I did have a tarp up outside over a picnic table and it rained so much that it pooled up on the tarp and got so heavy that it ripped the tarp in two.
r/camping • Are Gazelle Tents worth it? ->https://preview.redd.it/ylpdhs8eegof1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e44fc6a901983f6539546daf093eaebdf6eba78e See how I have two guy lines at 45 degree angles from the tent? Holds up better than just one. Also I got rid of the tent stakes that came with it and I got some all metal 10 inch tent spikes off of Amazon that I use for tent steaks.
r/camping • Are Gazelle Tents worth it? ->Gazelle T4 Instant Tent. Just note that the quality on these is hit or miss. Just about anything from Alps Mountaineering. I have a full fly on my 4 season and a smaller fly on my 3 season.
r/overlanding • Tent Recommendations ->If packed up space and relatively large weight is not bad then consider a hub style tent. I like my Gazelle Overland edition. The doors are a little tricky getting in and out but in all other regards (setup and takedown) it seems like that would be a good fit.
r/camping • Tent recommendations for a couple of senior gentleman? ->[https://gazelletents.com/collections/6-8-person-tents/products/t-hex-hub-tent-overland-edition-copy](https://gazelletents.com/collections/6-8-person-tents/products/t-hex-hub-tent-overland-edition-copy) Doesn't fit your budget. Easy to setup Quality and durability have never been an issue for me or people I know. I'm sure someone somewhere will be like "they are junk". Condensation control is going to depend on the weather as there is plenty of vents. Might be better off with 2 T4's from Gazelle.
r/CampingGear • Looking for a new tent in 2025 ->I'm only one season and 3 uses in but, so far my T4 has been great. Only real downside is it's bulk. It's long and heavy. But it's a castle of a tent.
r/camping • Are Gazelle Tents worth it? ->Gazelle T4, North Face Wawona or Big Agness Big House. Agree the T4 is a bear to.load and carry. We use our Wawona a ton once we learned how to set it up hahaha
r/camping • Best way to sit up in tent ->Check out gazelle tents. I have the T3x and the T8. Love both. The T8 is too much for 2 people IMO. I'd take a look at the T4. Not the T4 plus. A bit big, but super easy to put up and take down.
r/CampingGear • Recommendations for a car camping tent for two people that you can stand up in. $500 budget. ->My partner and I use a Gazelle T4 and I love it. It's not huge, but I wouldn't consider it small either. No porch either. Okay, it's not what you're looking for... I just needed to mention how much I love it for 2 people. A lot of room for gear (I keep a chair in ours) and standing room. Edit: ALSO, it takes like 90 seconds to set up (without staking), 3 minutes with staking, 8-10 minutes if you suspect heavy rain and want to guy out the rainfly (don't need to in light rain). There's a version that is double the length for a screened in porch area, but it's very bulky.
r/camping • Looking for a small tent you can stand up in ->Gazelle t4 or gazelle t4+/t8. I can set these up by myself in a matter of minutes. Super durable. Only negative is they are long and heavy when put away. About 4-5 feet long when in the carrying case.
r/camping • Best pop-up tent? ->Check out Gazelle, it's bulky but I love it anyway.
r/camping • Looking for a high-quality tent for car camping in Utah ->The gazelle isn't light or cheap though.
r/camping • Best way to sit up in tent ->My only problem now is that I have a player 2 and it's not great for 2 people and one bed. I don't sleep on the ground.
r/camping • Best way to sit up in tent ->If you're spending that type of money, look at the gazelle tents.
r/camping • Do you guys have experience with these? ->I came here to say this. It's big, but it's easy peasy.
r/camping • Do you guys have experience with these? ->I love my Gazelle T4! 40F, solo camping, easy to set up and take down.
r/camping • Easy to setup tents ->Loved my t4 but wow is it MASSIVE
r/CampingGear • 4P Car Camping Tent Recs?! ->I third the Gazelle T4. It just makes it easy. Only thing is that I have to throw it on my roof rack since I have too much other gear in my car.
r/camping • Best pop-up tent? ->This is the way. At 6'0", I can stand without being hunched in my Gazelle T4.
r/camping • Best way to sit up in tent ->Same! Well under 10 min. set up/take down and can easily stand inside, easily my favorite tent I've owned.
r/camping • Best way to sit up in tent ->I love my T4 but I honestly can't say that I've subjected it to anything other than pretty decent weather.
r/camping • Are Gazelle Tents worth it? ->I'll second a Gazelle T4, but just understand the door opening may be difficult for a disabled person to negotiate. It is quite long folded up as mentioned above.
r/camping • Best pop-up tent? ->Second the hub tents. I have a Gazelle T4 which is slightly bigger and heavier. It's been a great addition and is easy to deploy.
r/overlanding • Car Tent Recommendations? ->+1 for Gazelle tents, I've had a T4 for almost 5 years now and it's been a great buy. I also drive a 5th gen 4Runner, it fits if I fold down the rear seats but I choose to store it on the roof using [these mounts](https://americanadventurelab.com/product/sleeper-keeper-large-tent-mount/?srsltid=AfmBOooiDgTGjoE3bxL1eS9r4_EgZ9U6xMuKEQDn_h-xZn5oMU2oCnDB).
r/overlanding • Car Tent Recommendations? ->Highly recommend the Gazelle T4, I've been using it for ~5 years now and it's holding up great. It is large when packed, so make sure you have room. In my 4Runner I throw it up on the roof.
r/overlanding • Tent Recommendations ->I have a Gazelle T4, T4+, and gazebo. Gazelle makes some of the highest quality products that can stop be found. The quality of material cannot really be found anywhere else on a retail tent. I have been in severe thunderstorms in the Outer Banks of NC and snow storms in Utah in the T4. The tent has always kept us safe, comfortable, and dry. I’ve owned the T4 for five years. If you want to buy something and keep it and have the room for the monster bag, you will always appreciate the Gazelle.
r/camping • Timber Ridge instant pop up hub vs Gazelle T4? ->+2 on the Gazelle. Easy up and down plus plenty of space. I also have the T4 and love that I can stand in it, I’m 5’8”.
r/overlanding • Car Tent Recommendations? ->I love my gazelle T4. I bought it used for $150 and it’s amazing. I am 6’ and can stand in the whole thing. It is certainly bulky, but it is well worth it if you have the room. I have even strapped it on the roof rack of my Xterra for transport to campsites. It sets up easily with one person and has plenty of room for me and my partner on a double height queen air mattress. We can hang out during rainy days and play cards etc.
r/CampingGear • Recommendations for a car camping tent for two people that you can stand up in. $500 budget. ->Gazelle T4. I can set it up in less than 5 minutes, including staking it to the ground. Don’t see a reason for a rooftop tent. Gazelle is also the tent many of the overlander rooftop people gravitate too after getting rid of their rooftop tent.
r/camping • Roof Top Tent owners, is it worth the price? ->Gazelle would be exactly what you're looking for. I have the T4 and absolutely love it. The only downside is the size when packed up
r/CampingGear • Tent Recommendation ->Yeah the bigger ones get pretty pricey. I think I paid $270 for mine, If you're patient they go on sale often enough. I was actually camping last year and there was a tornado warning, it was quite a scary situation I never even thought about what I'd do in that situation. Thankfully we didn't get much of a storm where I was at
r/CampingGear • Tent Recommendation ->You can get them much cheaper than the gazelle website, they're currently $300 on Amazon not on sale
r/CampingGear • Tent Recommendation ->I love my gazelle T4. No regrets
r/CampingGear • I analyzed Reddit data for the 25 most recommended camping tents (in the past year) ->Yeah I had a coleman and put it up for sale when I got the gazelle, but dang I didn't pay anywhere near that much. Keep a look out on different sites for sales, you can find them much cheaper than off the gazelle website
r/CampingGear • I analyzed Reddit data for the 25 most recommended camping tents (in the past year) ->I've had a few similar Coleman tents, they were absolutely great when they are all together. Putting them up/taking them down and folding up absolutely killed the camping experience for me. Got a Gazelle last year and they are 1000% worth the extra cost
r/camping • Coleman, skydome w/ dark room tech 10P ->Gazelle Tents, you can end your search there. Extremely simple to put up and pack away. They have some big ones I believe you can section off
r/camping • Easy to setup tents ->I own a Gazelle T4. Durability - have had 0 issues. 2 years, quit a bit of camping in hot and cold (well, down to 30). Wind - stake out the sides and there are no wind issues. This is a facet of hub tent design, if you don’t stake it out then yes the hubs will blow in. Rain - have had no leaks, even in day long torrential downpours. Doors - meh, I have no issue with the doors. It’s different but not difficult. Size broken down: yea, I get that. Fits in the bed of my truck so I deal. Sounds like you need bigger than a T4, but if that is a good size for you, Gazelle now has the EXP T4 Overland. Different hub design, folds down more compact (I think 9.5 shorter than my T4), the feet have changed, bigger doors, bigger windows. Added in some features to make it more 4 season ready (HVAC ports and electrical ports, etc). Actually considered getting one, as my wife just got an SUV and would be nice to fit it in her vehicle too. Hard to justify spending for it when I already have a perfectly fine one. The bigger T8/T4 + has a different door design, but it is bigger to pack. Have a friend with a Magellan pro hub tent, it is also huge when broken down. I will say this. Since moving to this tent, we have camped way more. It really does go up in no time, breaks down in no time, and the bag is oversized so no fighting to get it back into the bag. I can have it up and secured faster than my pretty easily 2 person tent. And I can stand inside of it.
r/camping • Best hub tents? "Pop up/instant" options worth researching similar to gazelle? ->There is nothing wrong with that. My only concern, the footprint of that tent may be larger than a lot of prepared tent pads at a lot of campgrounds. Legit the only thing that may make things more difficult. My wife and I usually camp in a 4 person tent, but I had almost purchased an 8 person one instead. Being larger than the pads at the places we often go was why I didn’t. If you do end up going camping, and are at a campground, make sure to walk around and peek at what others are doing. You may find inspiration for other ideas, or just want to replicate something someone else does. That’s what got me with the tent I got (Gazelle T4). Easy up, easy down, can stand in it. Saw someone else with it, watched it, got jealous. lol. Since getting it, we have camped way more. Another thought, you can do a 4-6 person tent, and get a canopy of some sorts, and leverage that as your additional living space. We have a screen in camping gazebo we occasionally take with us, also has walls we can put up for a little more privacy.
r/camping • is it normal to bring a 12 or 10 person tent for a couple? ->Gazelle is an easy recommendation, most usable space for any tent design and it can handle tall people. Downside is that when packed it's fairly long. Depending on the size of your car, it might not fit in there. I have an SUV and will fold down a seat for it.
r/CampingGear • 4 Person Tent Suggestions? ->Pretty much the walls are solid with limited mesh in the windows/doors, the roof is mesh but there's the rainfly that protest that. So if it's heavy rain, you do have to ensure your windows and doors are zipped fully to prevent water from intruding.
r/CampingGear • 4 Person Tent Suggestions? ->I also have seperate setups for backpacking vs car camping. Nowadays ultralight backpacking gear is so expensive and thin, that using it for car camping is a waste of its limited durability. These thin materials only have a finite lifespan on them. Given your height, a Gazelle T3 or T4 would work well, those style of tents will have the highest headroom and usable space. They pack up pretty large though, so it depends on your vehicle space.
r/CampingGear • Spacious car camping tent recommendations for one person ->Gazelles are super fast to setup and offer the best head height. But for a tent that caters to taller folks, the door sucks for taller folks... at 6'1" i'm always tripping getting in and out of it. That Fanttik tent looks interesting in that regards. Setup does require you to "pop" the ceiling up, not sure if your rotator cuff issue will prevent you from doing that. And it's a pretty big tent packed, since you mention limited storage space.
r/CampingGear • Standing height tent: which is easiest to set up: hub, instant, or clip pole? ->I have a deluxe gazebo, T4, and T3X. My friend has the T4+. They’ve given me many good years and are still like new. Camp setup is mere minutes. My only gripe is that I will bust my butt on the triangle doors EVERY SINGLE TIME.
r/camping • Are Gazelle Tents worth it? ->Gazelle tents are pretty awesome but you need a roof rack to transport.
r/CampingGear • If weight is no longer a constraint, what would you choose for a freestanding tent? ->Gazelle t3 or the 4. Awesome tents and extremely easy to put up alone. The biggest drawback is you will need to mount to the rails on your vehicle. Unless you got a pickup.
r/CampingGear • Spacious car camping tent recommendations for one person ->Gazelle t4 just right for two people. Extremely easy to set up. The biggest problem with it is that it’s huge when it’s broken down you basically need to put it on your roof rack.
r/CampingGear • Recommendations for a car camping tent for two people that you can stand up in. $500 budget. ->I bought one from Amazon, I did a test run set up with one of the plastic footings broke on shipment. Seeing how fragile this tent was discouraged me to seek a replacement from poor quality of Coleman. I eventually opted for a Shiftpod and a Gazelle T4. More expensive but there is quality manufacturing
r/camping • Coleman 4 man "instant setup" tent. Any good? ->I have the Gazelle T4. Very sturdy and super easy to set up. It’s big when packed and heavy, but if car camping shouldn’t be an issue. And you can stand in it. Holds up great when staked out properly and the ease of setup and takedown can’t be beat.
r/camping • Looking for a high-quality tent for car camping in Utah ->Depends how much space you have, but I’m a huge fan of Gazelle. T4 tent goes up and down quick and holds fast in strong wind when properly anchored. We also have a G6 that we use for a kitchen or hanging out. Big enough for 6-8 adult chairs with fire pit and it’s screened.
r/camping • Love camping- Hate bugs; Need tent recommendations ->I’ll also vouch for the gazelle tents. The only slight issue I have isn’t with the tent, but having a large enough indoor area to set it up at home when I get back from camp in the winter to let it dry out 😂 At 6’3 I can comfortably stand up inside the T4.
r/overlanding • Car Tent Recommendations? ->When the weather absolutely will not let me use my hammocks, we have a Gazelle T4. I’m 6’3 and can stand up in it. Only downside is it does not break down to be very small. I carry it on my roof rack on my crosstrek 😆
r/CampingGear • Tent to stand up in ->The T4 is very easy to set up (I’ve done it myself in about three minutes l), very roomy, and fits easily in the storage bag (I can’t say this for most of the tents I’ve owned). The only issue your fiancé may have is with the door, which is triangular-shaped and a few inches of the ground.
r/camping • Best pop-up tent? ->I had a T4 and sold it. I really liked it except for the size/weight when transporting and the lack of airflow. The netting is so tight it does a really good job of keeping out bugs, but also hampers airflow.
r/camping • Are Gazelle Tents worth it? ->How many people are you traveling with? If it's just you, or you and another person who is not huge, just setup a sleeping platform in the 4Runner. Tents that setup on the ground but attach the the vehicle have always felt kinda gimmicky to me, and to some degree the worst of both worlds. If you don't sleep in the rig just get a quality fast deploy ground tent like the Gazelle.
r/overlanding • Car Tent Recommendations? ->I love my Gazelle. From the inside, it has a smiling face. https://preview.redd.it/q1pj3tjxh9de1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=76c1a899f46a5a1e9502a4754044d726496ff4b3
r/camping • Looking for a functional, but aesthetically pleasing, tent. ->Tried the Gazelle, liked it until I put it away on the first trip and 2 out of 4 metal sheath ends for the rain fly poles went loose into the dirt. Terrible quality for the price, went back to REI and got the Nemo Aurora.
r/CampingGear • I analyzed Reddit data for the 25 most recommended camping tents (in the past year) ->We like the gazelle too. Husband can stand up in it. Quick set up/tear down. Very roomy and seems to be holding up really well.
r/overlanding • Tent Recommendations ->+1 for Gazelle. In addition to being very roomy, the Gazelle is very very fast to set up and tear down. It handles inclement weather and strong winds (with the guylines staked down) very well
r/overlanding • Tent Recommendations ->Gazelle owner here - It's a warmish tent for Florida but I only camp during cold spells anyway. That I'm a 5 Ft tall female and can have this shelter literally up in 4 minutes is freaking \*great.\*
r/camping • Winter camping tent ->It's always kind of amused me that Gazelle is known for being heavy. Gazelles, famous for their immense bulk and weight. And yes I know it's called that because it's fast to set up lol. They really are super nice.
r/camping • Do you guys have experience with these? ->I saw over a dozen gazelles that totally failed during a storm at an Overland event two years ago. They did not hold up well at all. Guy lines were used etc, but they were some of the worst fairing tents among them all. I was a volunteer and had to go around taking stock of the damage and help people and after that I would not buy one of their tents.
r/overlanding • Tent Recommendations ->I have a gazelle - great tent - super easy setup and it’s tall enough to stand in. Downside it’s heavy and big. Like the size of a small person in the bag. And I think it weighs maybe 30 some pounds. Like any tent you have to make sure it’s dry before putting it away etc. I also don’t like the fact that the floor is velcro-ed on. I haven’t had any issues but it seems strange. I’ve also had a sundome - it’s light packs small mine was a 3 person so it’s short and tight inside. Takes time to set up as with the poles etc. Some of the taller domes a shorter person would struggle to get the fly on. I’m 5’4 and have to keep that in mind if I plan to put them up alone. I have a tensleep I love - but it’s essentially a dome and a super large fly — hard to set up in the wind.
r/camping • Looking for a great quality tent that will last many many years, for a family of 8, ok with using 2 Tents. (Car camping) ->If you can spend a little bit more and don't mind a little bit bigger when packed away, Gazelle tents are great. I love mine. I know it's way too big for a single person, but I like to have the room and be able to stand or sit in it with a chair shoud it be raining, all while having my pad and bags in there. And if I go somewhere i can stick my bike inside it so it's out of site. SUPER easy to set up. I also have a small 2P bikepacking tent for tight areas or when I don't want to take the big ol tent.
r/CampingGear • Tent Recommendation ->We’ve had ours for going on 4 plus years I think…Love this tent. Been great in numerous types of weather. Easily fits my six foot husband who can stand up in this tent without stooping, our yellow lab, her bed, our air mattresses and room to spare. Such a great tent. Fortunate to have purchased new when they weren’t quite so pricey, but truth be told, I’d pay up for one now for the same tent. We use it about 3 times a season for week long trips. A very big 👍🏼
r/camping • Are Gazelle Tents worth it? ->Look at gazelle tents, buy once, cry once. As long as you have the space to store it in travel its the best tent ive ever had.
r/camping • Planning my first camping trip ->Buy a Gazelle. You won’t regret it.
r/camping • Do you guys have experience with these? ->Do it now. You won’t regret it. Then order some stakes on Amazon that you screw in with a drill. Your set up with only take a couple minutes. No more messing with poles and annoying tent stakes.
r/camping • Do you guys have experience with these? ->Definitely an instant tent. Core and Coleman make decent ones. Gazelle is great but a bit pricier. I would say a minimum of a 6 person so they can stand straight up.
r/camping • Tent recommendations for a couple of senior gentleman? ->I can tell you I just used a gazelle tent in Ottawa last week for six nights with tons of mosquitoes and biting horse flies and everything and not a single bug in my tent at all. Never had an issue when it went through a severe windy thunderstorm when camping other years.
r/CampingGear • Looking for suggestions on 6-8 person tent with screen vestibule ->If you have kids or camp with a dog and have space to store it, the Gazelle tent was a game changer for me. I can set up my tent in a minute flat. The floor is replaceable if it ever gets damaged and you can stand in it. The downside, its heavy and does not pack down small. The positives: no poles are required, sets up and takes down fast, lots of space and windows, very durable. I had mine up in gusting winds and it withstood the elements
r/camping • Tent you can stand in comfortably ->Gazelle! You won't regret it
r/camping • 3 Season Tent Help - Family of 6 ->Gazelle is a great tent if you have the vehicle to haul it. It’s a long tent when packed up. And, if it’s dry.
r/camping • Tent Recommendations for Simple Scout Camp ->I have a gazelle and love it. It takes like 45s to set up. It doesn’t do well in high winds, though
r/CampingGear • Are instant up tents a gimmick? ->https://preview.redd.it/lonhowt0plne1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=335f4215cd1ffa7c9be7d777690142c3ad7253b5 My Gazelle has been a go-to for the speed of setup and sturdiness in wind. Well worth it. Pretty large tote, and heavy. Not for packing distances.
r/camping • Recommendation for Instant Cabin style tent, 2025 ->Honestly, not often these days. We aim for cold weather camping so we can use the stove. The Gazelle has become our loaner that we set up our friends and family with. My beef with nearly all nylon tents is how they collect condensation. I’ve had 5 people and 2 dogs in the Gazelle. All of that breathing made the inside pretty wet.
r/camping • Gazelle T4 Hub Tent?? ->Those huge 10 person tents are less durable, giant windsails, and are a pain in the culo to set up. I finally sold my cousin one of my old Gazelles because he kept bringing one of those big box mega tents on dispersed weekenders and needing help to set it up for like 10 minutes. The first time he brought that Gazelle out he was like, "Okay. Thanks." Unless you're at a campground with multiple snotnosers running around, I would not recommend one. Get a quality 4-6 person, 3 season vented Kelty/Nemo/Big Agnes/Gazelle, throw your mattress down, and you'll be loving life.
r/camping • Any reason not to get a bigger tent. ->I loved my ez up but the canopies would always break. Not very good in wind. One night had a really windy night and the canopy broke and stabbed the tent. Was the end of that.Great for a summer tent and good weather but i don't think id buy one again. I have a Gazelle now very good. Easy set up and can handle pretty much any weather. They are going for 400 not bad. Think im on my fourth year with it. I camp maybe 3-4 times a year. Early spring summer fall.
r/camping • EZ UP Camping Cube ->A Gazelle. It takes two minutes to set up. Room for two cots and a dog. We are on our second trip with it and pretty happy with it.
r/camping • Tent recommendations for a couple of senior gentleman? ->A majority of these hub tents come from the same factory with some design specs changed. A lot of the material is some variation of the other. As far as SP goes, its price is all marketing. Anything designed remotely near it at a cheaper price point is probably a better deal. I've ran an XL, III, and a Mini and as a someone previously replied they hold moisture even with the flaps open. The silver exterior will wear and you'll soon have moisture ingress. The newer bags are thicker but I tore through them on their 3rd use. I also run a Gazelle but haven't put it through its paces yet. The SP were good in winter camp because they did hold heat really well.
r/overlanding • [deleted by user] ->I have a problem (I own probably 13 tents atm, buy and sell here and there). But if you are car camping and it is in the budget check out the gazelle tents. I have Marmot, MSR, Pomoly, and a bunch of other brands but If I am car camping I always find myself reaching for the Gazelle. So damn easy to setup and tear down and tall enough to stand up and walk around in (especially if you have to pee in the middle of the night). Not exactly a budget option but it'll last you years too so factor that in.
r/CampingGear • anyone know anything about "The Get Out"?? they have a gorgeous double A frame tent that's making me feel a type of way ->I own 3 of these tents and would put the Gazelle in the top 3 tents I have ever owned for sure. So bloody easy to setup and take down and lots of height for getting in and out. I am over 40 now and can't be bothered to be crawling in and out of tents on my hands and knees when I have to take a leak in the middle of the night lol.
r/CampingGear • I analyzed Reddit data for the 25 most recommended camping tents (in the past year) ->Love my Gazelle, only wish mine was green! Orange is my least favourite colour but at least I’ll always be able to find camp. https://preview.redd.it/4ovi4t1v5g3f1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ab820c37e1890129dd322bab8f9cfff4a9aa8673
r/camping • Camping 2025 new Gazelle ->I have a Gazelle. It's a nice style, easy to put up. But it is HUGE when folded down for storage transport. You need to have a large SUV or a roof rack to transport this thing. Also mine had a bunch of needle holes that I needed to seal. Also some loose stitching. Not very well made for roughly $400 in cost. but, there aren't a lot of other "stand inside" for the average height person. At 5'2" there may be some more options out there for you.
r/camping • Tent you can stand in comfortably ->I would research Gazelle tents. They are easy and fast to set up and come 8n several different sizes and configurations. They aren't cheap, but they will least for years under normal use conditions.
r/camping • Planning my first camping trip ->I sleep under the softopper when solo with a nice exped pad. The 5ft bed is annoying but I have a way to rig up a tarp if needed. When the wife goes i have a big gazelle tent and exped pad that sleeps us and a big dog with room to spare. Rooftop tents aren't for me too much weight and drag for something I will only use once a month. Im trying to keep my current taco a bit lighter after breaking some ring and pinion gears on my last obese build.
r/ToyotaTacoma • Favorite Non RTT Sleep Setups? ->We have the Gazelle. It’s built well and all, but the mesh is so tight that the ventilation is horrible in temps over 70. Unless it’s pouring out or massively buggy, we don’t even set it up most times.
