I will second Gazelle. To clarify, the T8 has been discontinued, but there is the T4Pus/tandem that gives you a screen room. My wife and I overland with the T4Plus and love it. It's great having the extra room, especially if the weather turns nasty.

Gazelle tents are easy to set up and are indestructible. I (64M) have had a T4 Plus for years

I have a gazelle tent which is bulky but also nice. I have also looked at the 10x10 ez up canopy tents with side walls or inserts. I know they make some that are 10x15 or 10x20 with side walls. May not be as fully enclosed as some other tents, but gives you plenty of room.

I do have the t4+ which is nice as it as the nice big open door. Very easy to set up and tear down. About the only times it takes longer is when you have to steal out all the guy lines on windy days. But yes it is big and bulky and can be hard to move around. Took it on a road trip from WI to Utah and used a roof top carrier to haul it with.

Do you have any other requirements, and how will this be used? If you're mostly overlanding or car camping, the best value for the money is a Gazzel Hub tent, but there are downsides, like its weight and size. But I love the fact that I can order replacement parts, including the detachable floor panel.

I have the T4 plus and love it with one exception. A full-size air mattress does not quite fit with the fixed room divider. Last trip we took and attempted to use two complete sets, one in each room, and it was very tight. As a compromise, we are moving everyone to a large cot and getting the kids bunkbed-style cots. But overall, we love the tent, great build quality ect.. It would be amazing if it was just 14"-24" bigger in each room. There is a new model but I dont think its much larger

I have a T4 plus. I’ve taken mine to the outer banks (windy) about 5 times and it’s been rock solid, including last time when a cold front came through and we were getting 30mph gusts. I’ve camped in rain about 3 or 4 times otherwise. I do guy out the hubs but nothing special or time consuming and have never had a hub collapse. Rain fly has been tested and works well with no water intrusion in light to moderate rains/sprinkle. Have not had it in a thunderstorm. I think ventilation would be relatively poor if you had to close all of the vents for a heavy rain as the design relies on top ventilation due to design. I think wedging pool noodles at the top, underneath the rain fly over the top netting would help airflow. Haven’t had any quality related issues. It’s huge and heavy-but all hub tents are huge and the bag has a nice shoulder strap. Strongly recommend the overland edition for the stakes and tarp.

I've used my t4 overland 5 times, and I have 2 little holes in it. Guessing from rubbing on my roof rack🤷 makes my question the quality. However, I do love it otherwise.. also, it does not hold up well in down pours, water seeps in through the seems

It's the t4 overland edition. It wasn't much coming in, just drips from the seams of the inside pocket. Not enough to soak the floor below it, but I've heard this is the area where people have this issue. I will just put seam seal around it. Nevertheless, I love this tent and would recommend it to anyone.

Ya, it wasn't much, but by day 2, water was seeping in through the seams of the inside pockets. I've heard other people with the same issue with the pocket seams. Everywhere else was completely dry.

One of the main reasons I went with a gazelle t4 over an rtt is the height. Being able to walk around in your tent is great 👍

That's why we went with the gazelle over an rtt. We have 2 dogs, one is a 13 year old 90lb retriever. Getting him up and down a ladder just dosnt sound fun. There are alot of pros to this tent over an rtt. Some cons too. Having to store all the bedding in my vehicle is the only real con other then a bit more setup time.

We have 2 big dogs, so we put a full-size lost horizons mattress and still plenty of room for 2 dog beds. We love it, too. Can't do that with an rtt

Yea, the plus has a much bigger rain fly, awsome tent.

I have the gazelle t4 overland. I just recently camped in an absolute downpour all weekend as I live in the pacific north west, and it held up not bad. There was a little drip coming from the seams of the pocket. For a tent with a smaller rain fly in rain like that. Not to bad

I've been using the T-4 Plus for the last 30 or so trips and have had zero issues with it. It's held up to 50 MPH winds and torrential rain. The doorways and bathtub style floor actually do help with bugs a bit since the entry's not \*on\* the ground. I think you'd have to be a pretty determined bug to get in through the velcro if you closed it up correctly. I'd bet your invader came in through the door or on your person. Anyways, best of luck.

It's pretty easy to reseal the floor if you take it out. There are little red tabs that help you line it up correctly.

We just got the galette t4 plus hub and love it. It's big, but maybe they make a smaller model. Material is high quality and all party's of design are sturdy.

r/campingBest hub tents? "Pop up/instant" options worth researching similar to gazelle?

I've got the T4+ Overland and can recommend. So far we've used it on about a dozen nights with a 7-person family, and it's lived up to the marketing. The big T-shaped stakes that come with the overland are nice but the six L-shaped takes that come with the the footprint suck.

I have the gazelle t4+. Easy to set up, amazing tent. We use one room for sleeping, 2 adults and a kid. The other room for stuff, chairs if it’s bad weather, etc. It’s held up to strong winds, though i guyed it out enthusiastically But… traveling with it is painful. The pack size is huge and heavy.
