Bought one on a whim because the price was right. Camped all night in it last night with my three and six year-old in constant rain, kept us dry and yet breathed very well. Very happy with purchase.
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->This tent is great! We took the Scouts camping this weekend. It poured Friday night and rained most of the day Saturday. We had 3 of these tents. Every single one was bone dry. They outperformed tents that cost 5 times the amount . My only regret it that we only bought 3 of them.
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->I bought this direct from Klymit on a sale for $99 and it's been great. I've only used it 3-4 times but have been impressed. Impressed enough to buy a second anyway! Don't forget the footprint. Thanks for the heads up!
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->Thanks for the heads up! I just snagged one, I’m not anywhere near a Menards, so mine is $55 with shipping but still a great deal I think.
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->Same. Literally subbed to this sub a couple days ago and this popped up. Bought it a couple hours ago. Gonna introduce my kiddo to camping using this. For 30 bucks after the rebate, it can’t be bad enough to not be worth it (hopefully)

Klymit Cross Canyon 3 I don't work for either company or anything questionable. I just love the idea of decent tents for reasonable prices. Maybe it’ll help. Just got one myself
r/CampingGear • Cheap car-camping tent recommendations? Maybe a good Labor Day sale item? ->I have this tent. Great tent!
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->Those are some weird cons and it doesn't seem like they camp much or have used many different tents. 82 in is too short? Not color coded? Cheap stakes? Seem like the same stakes that come on every tent under $250. Does he expect stakes to go into rock? I bought the tent elsewhere but haven't used it yet. I bought for my kid who just joined scouts.
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->You need a ground cloth or something to put under it.
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->I used mine for the same purpose this weekend too. Same weather and I stayed dry too.
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->What do you mean? Is 86 inches not long enough? Or are you talking about standing up in a 3 person tent?
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->Maynard’s has a great deal on a kymmit 3 person tent for 45.00. Other sites are selling it for 150. I just picked it up and oh my Lord this thing is awesome. It is perfect for Scouts and very durable.
r/BSA • New scout tent recommendations ->That’s the exact reason I got it. The big one is a pain to set up when my oldest isn’t with us. This one is easy to do with my cubscout.
r/BSA • New scout tent recommendations ->I have zero business buying another tent but I just got it thanks to you! Can't wait to try it out.
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->I have had this tent for years now. I had paid $100. I have camped in FL,GA,AZ, and UT with it in snow, and it has held up great with rain too, for $30 it is a steal and miles better than a walmart tent.
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->Didn’t expect to be buying a tent tonight but here we are.
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->I hope your young one enjoys it and i'm sure they will. I am going to pick up the tent today after work and plan to use it for the same reason. I've done a few camp outs in the back yard with my older son that went smoothly. But he had to miss the scouting camp trips last year unfortunately, so I want him to be good and experienced ahead of this year. Cheers!
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->Haha! Ordered it two weeks ago! Put it up in the dining room. Seems legit! Digging all the pockets, one in each corner.
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->I picked one up and may test it tomorrow night. I would greatly prefer to have two separate tents for 3 people when backpacking, but with kids, they are going to want to be in my tent. For $34, I can make a 75” wide floor and 7 pounds work since it is likely a one time a year event. Edit: I pitched it. Pros: I used all the guy out points and it feels pretty sturdy. I would trust this tent in any non-storm type wind gusts, and I’d feel OK in a small thunderstorm. The bug net feels like a heavier, sturdier fabric than most tents I’ve used. Not surprising given the weight. I didn’t notice this was polyester when I bought it, which I would say is a pro as I prefer it over nylon and usually you pay extra for. Cons: the zippers are junk which is typical of a cheaper tent. The fly zipper gets caught and feels cheap and the inner gets hung up so bad you really need two hands to operate, which is pretty annoying. Maybe an unfair critique, but the footprint of this tent is HUGE (it’s a 3 person tent, what did I expect?). It will be a struggle to pitch this in the wilderness. The biggest con for me is the rain fly almost feels too big for the tent. It takes a lot of finessing the stakes and positioning everything to keep it taut. I wouldn’t really want to ride out an all-night rainstorm as all the loose fabric feels like it would well up water all over. The good news is the polyester should help it from getting waterlogged and help runoff. The floor is more like 72” wide, definitely not 75”. I have this thing pitched as tight as I can get it and there is no way I could get it to 75”. There appears to be some red streaking on the gray portions like the red color bled over, which is maybe why these are fire sale price. I don’t really care what my tent looks like tbh. That’s not an issue for me but thought I’d share. Overall, a GREAT value for a tent with aluminum poles. I’d feel much better in this than your average Ozark Trail or similar tent.
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->Just woke up from a night in it. Not much to add other than we managed to fit two tensor wide pads and a klymit static v wall to wall and it did ok. I was worried about condensation since we were pressing on the walls but it did fine in that regard (as far as I could tell; I didn’t wake up wet and neither did the kids). The side walls being practically vertical helped a lot since we were packed in so tight.
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->I got this and used it this last weekend. It poured rain and hail, etc. The tent stayed mostly dry; the rain was so heavy that it caused a bit of a flood to wash down the hill I was near, so the bottom got ever so slightly damp where the water flowed over the footprint I got for it. The rest stayed dry inside (and I didn't even really stake out most of the rainfly because I was just using it as a "storage tent" to test it out). Was fairly simple to get dried out the next day too before packing, thanks to how much of it is just mesh. I wish the bottom of this was tarp material rather than having to buy a separate footprint, but, for $33, I'll take it! Nice roomy tent. It looked like it had "grease stains" all over it and the creases were also a bit discolored, which is maybe why it's on deep discount. Nothing else wrong with it.
r/CampingGear • Menards is almost giving away a decent tent for $34. Klymit Cross Canyon 3 ->I paid $100 for one of these a few years ago and would definitely pay $100 again. It's a great car camping tent and is easy enough for my kids to set it up on their own. I guess I need another one....you know, just in case.
