I use use it for my wife dog and I while backpacking and car camping. It's a champ. It puts up with the dog batting at with her paw to go out, very spacious the extra cubbies are great! It doesn't feel too heavy in our packs or take too much room

I like my Marmot Limelight 3p tent. Packs down relatively small, goes up quickly. Going on 10 years with it and have had no issues.

I have a Tungsten UL 3p and it is like a mansion... Love that tent. We take it when we take a dog or just want spacious luxury... Even if it is a couple lbs heavier than our Durston. I'm not a fan of 1p tents in general. Just not enough room. Our first Marmot was a 3p Limelite.... Like a Cadillac, but just as heavy, LOL. Carried that sucker for 10 years before it started to wear out. I'm a fan of the brand.

We downsized the tent we take on kayak trips to save on space and a bit of weight. Our 3 person marmot is almost 8 lbs vs my Durston XMid but if I didn't also want something for backpacking a Naturehike Mongar 2 would be a good balance between size, weight and costs.

Yeah we have a 3P Marmot that's similar. Very sturdy and great for its intended use but there are much lighter weight options like the Mongar that's also quite cheap. Basically unless you already own the heavy tent there's little reason to buy one when there are lighter, cheaper options which are readily available.

That tent is cheaper direct from Marmot (https://www.marmot.com/equipment/tents/3-person/limelight-3-person-tent/AFS\_195115053215.html). I have a Marmot car camping tent which has been great but I'd not recommend the Limelight at 6lbs as there are far better options for backpacking. Durston XMid or XDome are very popular options in this price range for example.

I have an older marmot limelight 3p. It’s a bit heavy, but fits 2 people on wide pads comfortably.

I’ve used Marmot standard and UL tents. I’m not sure I would use an UL tent as my main tent (unless you’re backpacking all the time). The standard feels more durable, but both have held up for me. My recommendation for backpacking tents are Tarptents. Really like those.

Buy an ultralight 3 person!!! Marmot makes a great one. Plenty of room for you and your partner and if you need to throw any gear inside during a storm. Also plenty of room to hang out in and play cards or read books. If you get caught in weather trust me.

I spend a lot of time camping on the coast of North Carolina where winds go from 10-45+ mph on a normal weekend. I use a full fly dome, with a lower profile with long sand stakes. Usually I use a Marmot Limelight pointed into the wind (helps with bugs). This year I moved up to a MSR Habitude for more room, but has a similar design.

for how many people? i love my marmot tents. i have 4 different ones now. a giant 6p for family / car camping. a 3p for when its just me and another adult or me and my two kids. a 1p ul backpacking tent. i also have a much older 3p tent maybe 10yr old that had a "window" in the rain fly that delaminated a year ago and they replaced the entire tent with my current brand new 3p tent for freeee. i thought they would just send a replacement rain fly but got a whole new tent and then fixed the rainfly on my own. my 1p tent i've had for 15+ years and its holding up great still.

My wife is all about this. I went from backpacking, to car camping with her in a 3P Marmot tent with a plug-in air mattress… to a 6P REI KingDome… and now she wants a 10P Tent. I’m surprisingly not mad about it… it’s luxurious AF. Super glampy. I’m starting to really get into car camping lol

I own Kelty, North Face and Marmot backpacking tents, and can attest to their durability, ease of use and agreeable weight. I've used them both in the backcountry as well as when going car camping.

I'd add marmot to that list too for the 3-season and backup the canvas with stove for freezing weather.
